What is causes and treatments for scoliosis and what are the possibilities of that.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
Depending on the severity and location of pain, degenerative scoliosis is treated with one or more non-surgical options, or with surgery. Most patients with degenerative scoliosis do not need surgery. The goals of non-surgical treatment are to: reduce pain, rather than to correct the spinal curvature.

It's good that you are thinking of future. First thing will be to reduce your weight. Second thing will be over function tests and USG abdomen to see what damage has occurred due to daily drinking. Do regular exercises. If you are fit, you won't have problems.

I am 25 years old. Since december 2014 I am suffering from back shoulder pain. This pain is moving up and down from my left shoulder to neck, head and chest on left side and this is continous. I have consulted two orthopedic surgeons they tell me this is muscle pain. I take medicines from them and doing exercise consulted by them but not getting relief even 1%. Please suggest me where to go for now for a neurologist or again for orthopedic or any other doctor. Please help me get me out of this pain because this is now becoming unbearable. .

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young and actually should not be having persistent pains in your shoulder and other regions. Since you have already consulted two doctors, can you please attach their prescriptions, your relevant investigations and what treatment have you received thus far? it will be better as I can understand and maybe exclude certain issues by seeing your papers and then advise you accordingly. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Mr. Lybrate-user, continuous posture of any will build pressure over that paeticular part like the spine also. You try to change posture while studying&if possible lean to soft back/use any pillow, r keep a small cushion under the neck. Try to change postures often. Practice few asanas in yoga which help to relieve the back pain&tone up the spine.&also practice breathing exercises n pranayama which will relieve you from stress. Try to lie on back without pillow while sleeping.

Joint pain is usually age related and sometimes it may be due to deficiency of vitamin d and calcium, wen age is less we consider it to due to deficiency but after the age of 35 it is mostly considered because of age related wear and tear of joints, one should consider for Physiotherapy and regular exercise if suffering from joint pain after a certain age ,regular exercise help flow of blood and thus flush out toxins and supply nutrition to the joints thus reduce inflammation also, but after Physiotherapy once your pain subsides you should always do regular exercise.
