When leg pain occurs after strenuous physical activity, you can simply apply cold compresses. This will help reduce the pain by numbing the affected area and control swelling and inflammation. 1. Wrap a few ice cubes (or a bag of frozen peas) in a thin towel. 2. Apply this pack on the affected area for 10 to 15 minutes, while keeping the leg (s) elevated. 3. Do this a few times a day. Note: do not apply ice directly on the skin, as it may cause frostbite. Also take mag phos 6x - twice daily. Consult me for homeopathic treatment. . Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

My Wife 38 Year old suffering from astro arthritis and vain pen in downward from hip to toe. Please advice.

The first line of treatment of hip arthritis includes activity modification, anti-inflammatory medication, hip injections, and weight loss. Giving up activities that make the pain worse may make this condition bearable for some people. Anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen,naprosyn and the newer Cox-2 inhibitors help alleviate the inflammation that may be contributing to the pain. Furthermore, studies have shown that walking with a cane in your opposite hand significantly decreases the forces across the hip joint. Finally, weight loss helps decrease the force that goes across the hip joint.

Cervical radiclulopathy left arm in little and ring finger congenital fusion of c3-c4 vertebra and mild disc bulge c5-c6. Doctors on paper wrote c7-T1 nerve compression. Any suggestions I taking physio and medicines. Am really depressed of this pain and numbness in finger.

No need to worry at all. First educate yourself about this illness. For congenital fusion there will be no problem now. For nerve compression I will advice you for postural guidance and change in living style. Go for physiotherapy . it can be cured completely by Physio and occupational therapy treatment. Use medicine as prescribed by physician as it also have a good role.

Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Dear lybrate user use hot pack 15 minutes twice a day and use ointment stretching exercise of back muscles strengthening exercise of back muscles avoid forward bending heavy weight lifting use hard bed. Change working habit etc and consult with physiotherapist.

I am 50 years old man. Since last 3 years when summer starts, I feel lazy and my muscles in the leg & thighs starts paining. The pain increases as the day passes & decreases gradually in afternoon & I feel comfortable in the evening. But during rainy & winter I don't feel any pain. Avoid spicy fried and junk food. Avoid tea coffee and aerated drinks. Apply mahanarayan tail followed by massage for 15 minutes followed by hot fomentation.

Sir, madam I have uric acid level is 9.4 mg dl and I have knee pain in both knee. On maximum time my uric acid level remains above 7.2 mg dl. My doctor has started alluprinol to me and said, you have to keep it eating for your entire life. Does this true for the medicine or something else is there. But my knees are still hurting and my doctor has no answer for this I have already taken NSAID, Cortic Steroid injection, Hylane injection into the knees but still pain is there. After that they told me that you have gouty arthritis due to high uric acid level and you have to keep eating alluprinol. My x ray of knees show early degenerative changes. Please tell me upto how much time I have to take alluprinol and when my knees get rid off from pain.

You may have to continue medication for Uricemia and keep blood tested rregularly when the treatment is under progress. You may temporarily stop medication when after a prolonged treatment Uric Acid is normal If pain does not subside even temporarily even then, There may be another cause for multiple large size joints. Your weight will have to be brought down first . These things should be under the direct supervision and advice of a well equipped Orthpedic Centre near your place like Goa, Manipal Hubli or Belgaum. Remain under their care permanently. Medical treatment already taken may prove to be harmful to you.

Yes wrong postures are the commonest cause of such complaints. Extension exercises, sleeping on hard flat beds and avoiding forward bending are the best things to get relief from such problems. Bhujangaasan is very helpful in such cases.

I think your suffering from migraine pain. Soo you need proper treatment.in homoeopathy there are soo mny medicines. Soo if you want a permanent solution you need proper homeopathic treatment. Soo you can contact me. Other pathy will just palliate or subside your pain for the time being. But for permanent solution you need proper homeopathic treatment.

My wife suffers from pain originating from her shoulders to the whole of right hand. She had it checked and also went for physiotherapy and heat massages. She also takes Vitamin D as directed. But the pain is ever increasing and also the area effected is increasing. What could be the cause??

Cause could be the compression of the nerve traversing the arm from the neck. I would suggest you get an MRI done to know the exact cause and also to direct the therapy accordingly..
