Its a complication which can be encountered in third molar surgery. Its because of damage to a nerve which is very close to the root of the third molar. Please take Neurobion Forte tablet twice daily. I would be able to help you better if i see u personally.

Any single tooth having black, brown, punk or yellow discoloration as compared to other teeth is suggestive of dead tooth pulp. Such teeth are often associated with trauma many years back and are not painful. If you see any such tooth, get it treated to avoid hidden complications.

Do not use your teeth for doing something other than chewing food. Using them for cracking nuts, removing bottle tops or ripping open packaging can result in chipped or broken teeth.

The dental overbite can also be corrected non surgical. And in doing so your work will not suffer at all as the appointments don't usually take longer than 15 minutes. For more information you are always welcome to get in touch with me by the details provided. Hope you have a pleasing and healthier smile very soon. Take care.

Usually mouth ulcers take 7-10 days to heal. You can apply any gel having lignocain 4-5 times a day, especially before eating. Taking b complex will not give immediate relief but it is required to be taken for atleast a month once daily. For long term effect, consult a dentist & get your vit b12 & folic acid level checked. If found deficient, take the advised proper regimen to avoid ulcers for long duration.

Cause of discoloration ? Smoking, coffee, tea, drugs, aging, staining food (wine, blueberry, etc) genetics. Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need 1. Deep cleaning along with surgical, gum strengthening procedure . Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. 2. whitening (bleaching) procedures and / or artificial enamel filling. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use Snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply SNOWDENT paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results. You may consult me in person. . DENTAL TIPS: - Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Bleeding from gums occur due to gum infection and gum infection is caused due to bacteria deposit so in both the cases you need to get dental cleaning every 6mnths in a year and do not eat onions and garlic.

All About Laser Dentistry - Methods and Results

A very interesting thing, that most people would have noticed during their visit to the clinic is the white light that is used on the teeth. This is laser light, which is used extensively over the last couple of decades in dentistry for a variety of treatments. The following are some procedures where laser is commonly used.

  1. Whitening teeth: In-office bleaching is done by applying the whitening agent on the tooth and activating it by laser light. This instant result is whiter teeth and a brighter smile.

  2. Caries: In some cases, laser light is used to remove the decayed portion of the tooth and shape the surrounding healthy tooth to receive the restorative material.

  3. Restorations: When composite resins are used to fill the space left by tooth decay, the decayed portion is removed and the enamel etched to improve adhesion. The composite material is then filled in the tooth space to achieve the desired shape and then light-cured.

  4. Veneers: Where a thin layer of the existing tooth is removed to provide a whiter tooth, then laser light is used. These chemicals are inactive and only become activated when exposed to laser light. In cases of both restorations and veneers, one big advantage is it gives sufficient working time for the dentist to shape the material to the desired form and then activate it.

  5. Gingivitis: Laser is also used in gum diseases where bacteria are removed and the gums are reshaped. Using laser on the root surfaces ensures better removal of the hardened calculus and promotes gum reattachment of the gums to the tooth surfaces.

  6. Root canal therapy: In the root spaces, if there was an infection, laser light can help remove the bacteria before filling up the root canal with gutta percha.

  7. Soft tissue biopsy or lesion removal: Biopsies of the lips, gums, and tongue can be done using laser light. If the lesions are too small and require removal, it can be done by laser, thereby avoiding the need for surgery

Results: In all the above procedures, the laser is more effective than the conventional method that it is replacing. Some advantages include:

  1. Less painful

  2. Anesthesia not required

  3. Avoids tooth drilling in some cases of very minor decay, so patient is at ease

  4. Reduces bleeding and swelling when dealing with soft tissues

  5. Reduces the amount of tooth removal during cavity preparation

Not all situations can be managed with a laser treatment though and conventional biopsies and drills will be required in some cases. As with all other dental situations, a detailed discussion with the dentist on the pros and cons and the patient condition will help make an informed decision.

Dry mouth

Imagine the feeling of a thirst that is so strong it seems it will never be quenched, a constant burning sensation on the tongue, or lips that are constantly dry and cracked. Thirsty yet? Unfortunately, thousands of people, particularly the elderly, are affected by this condition called xerostomia or ?dry mouth.?

Dry mouth is not something to be taken lightly by any means. It can cause a lot of discomfort and have some extremely negative impacts on a person?s quality of life.

When a person has dry mouth, there is an increased risk of cavities and periodontal disease because there is less saliva to cleanse the teeth and gums. In addition, this condition is known to affect a person?s speech, taste sensation and ability to swallow.

When a patient?s salivary glands significantly decrease the production of saliva, or cease production altogether, there is a high risk of cavities or other oral diseases. Saliva is the mouth?s self-cleansing mechanism. It helps remove food debris and plaque from tooth surfaces.

A permanent feeling of dry mouth or decreased saliva flow can be caused by systemic-diseases such as: rheumatoid conditions, dysfunctional immune system, and hormonal and neurological disorders. Biological aging is a contributing factor to this condition, but does not cause dry mouth.

Dry mouth in others can be caused by radiation therapy directed at the head and neck region of the body, which can result in permanent damage to the salivary glands. In addition, there are over 400 drugs that can cause dry mouth as a side effect. The more common drugs are decongestants, diuretics, antihypertensives, antidepressants, and antihistamines.

Many patients that experience dry mouth complain of a sore or burning sensation on the tongue; dry, cracked lips, and at the corners of the mouth; and are often thirsty.

If patients exhibit these symptoms, they should immediately see an oral health professional. With a little extra care, dry mouth can be adequately controlled.

The WDA recommends those affected by dry mouth take the following precautions to keep the mouth wet and reduce the likelihood of cavities or periodontal disease:

Brush and floss teeth at least four times per day (after each meal and before bedtime)
Brush and rinse dentures after each meal
Keep water handy to wet the mouth at all times
Chew sugarless gum
Avoid tobacco, alcohol, sodas and foods high in sugar content
Use moisturizer on the lips to alleviate discomfort.

I'm 31 years old female. Always there is bleeding while brush my teeth. Please suggest.
