Hi, behcets syndrome is a disease which is treated by multiple doctors. As far as oral ulcers are concerned a dentist can help you in this thing. For mouth ulcers in behcets disease it is good if some steroid based topical cream can be applied. It generally gives you long lasting relieve from oral ulcers. Regards Dr. Avinash.

How to maintain healthy gums. My gums are bleeding for last few days and sometimes I get itching in it. What should I do.

BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
Few advice to stop bleeding gums-- - visit to a dentist for professional cleaning once in a year - use a soft toothbrush -- and brush properly! brush your teeth for at least two minutes twice a day and after meals. Hard brushing can further damage the soft tissues of your mouth. - floss at least once a day and be sure to floss beyond the gum line to remove more plaque. - control bleeding by applying pressure to the area with a cold compress. - rinse with salt water to keep the area clean. - avoid mouthwashes that contain alcohol, which can dry out your mouth. - stay away from smoking and other tobacco products, which can aggravate bleeding gums.

I hav lightish yellow marks on my teeth. Can I go for cleaning n polishing with dentist.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
The simplest method of removing minor surface stains is polishing, or micro-abrasion if staining is more intrinsic. Provided that your discolouration is not due to inadequate enamel exposing the dentin, tooth whitening (bleaching) is often the most effective treatment for yellow stained teeth. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply snowdent paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min. Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results.

Visit an Orthodontist if your child has habits like thumb sucking, lip biting, tongue thrusting, mouth breathing. These habits may cause irregularity in teeth and jaws and should be prevented at an early stage.

But that cudnt be the case in any case this means that your gums are getting weak. Please pay a visit to your dentist and get your teeth cleaned and also he would suggest you other options depending on the severity of your case hope it helped.

6 Effective Basics That Beat BAD Breath

6 Effective Basics That Beat BAD Breath
Basics That Beat Bad Breath

Bad breath is embarrassing. It inconveniences you and everyone around you. It affects your life in more ways than you might be aware of. It is crucial that you give due care to your oral health well in time to save difficult procedures and unbearable decay in time. Here are a few ways how you can do that:

1. Brushing Twice: This is the first and the most important. The reasons of odour in the mouth are mainly gum disease, tooth decay, and cavities. You should brush your teeth twice, once right after you wake up and just before you go to bed.

2. Tongue Cleaning and Flossing: It’s not just brushing, you need to clean your tongue too. This is the area where harmful bacteria are present. To avoid odour and mouth diseases, ensure that you have a tongue cleaner and that you clean your tongue every time you brush your teeth. Also remove the in-betweens of the teeth with a flossing thread. It ensures complete deposit free oral hygiene.

3. No to Mints: Avoid using mints and gums to disguise the odour in your breath. They are temporary disguises and do more harm than good. They have sugar which stays back in your mouth and spoils your oral health, drastically. If you have to choose ones which are free of sugar.

4. Drink Ample Water: If your mouth is dry, it is a bad sign. Saliva has the important enzymes which help kill bacteria. If your mouth is dry, bacteria are increasing. So, drink water. Ensure you drink at least eight glasses of water in a day.

5. Rinse After Every Meal: Always wash the insides of your mouth well, after eating anything, esp. chocolates and other sugary foods. A good swirl with water inside your mouth will get rid of the food lodged in corners.

6. Pick The Right Fruits: Certain fruits and vegetables are very good for oral health. Juicy and crunchy Vitamin C rich fruits like bell peppers, broccoli, berries and apple have a cleansing effect on your teeth.

Hello Doctor, I've earache when I chew food, I've a sensitivity in my tooth also. Could pls suggest medicine for that? Thankyou.

BDS
Dentist, Jaipur
Hello First visit a nearby dentist to rule out the reason for sensitivity and earache. Opening and closing jaws for longer periods can cause earache. Also for sensitivity there might be some cavity in your teeth or food lodgement. So it is advised to visit a dentist for proper checkup. Regards

I am 23 years old and 3 days continuous headache occurred and the mouth ulcer for next 1 week as the headache stopped. What might be the reason and remedies to it. Please help.

BDS
Dentist, Delhi
Hi lybrate-user, a mouth ulcer is a painful sore inside the mouth, on the tongue, soft palate (the back portion of the roof of your mouth), or inside the cheeks. Sores in your mouth are round, white, or grey in color, with a red edge or border. The condition is usually becomes okay withing 7 days. But if it persists beyond that, or if multiple ulcers keep re-appearing, medical advice must be taken. In severe mouth ulcer attacks, you may also experience fever and physical sluggishness. Taking vitamin b12 supplements along with a suitable gel for pain is the best remedy. Hope that helps.

Sir my mouth gum have been swollen and unable to eat after mouth and tonsil infection. So suggest me some cure.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with surgical curettage or gum strengthening procedure. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks.

Dentist,
To lessen the degree of pain or soreness in the mouth during the orthodontic treatment, you can gargle with 8 ounces of lukewarm water with one teaspoonful of salt dissolved in it. Swish it around your mouth and then spit it out. It will dull the pain and provide relief.

I have already have a bridge, but I want natural looking teeth, and I know about dental implants, but I do not want to put artificial things in my mouth.

BDS
Dentist,
Dear lybrate-user stem cell procedure to regain lost tooth is nt in practical yet n moreover according to theory f stem cell to regenerate tissue need to preserve the own stem cell in early stage f birth at stem bank n I think you didn't preserve your decidious tooth s stem cell at stems cell bank.

I did RCT 2 years back in upper left teeth (#24) but could not do capping, now the same teeth is paining again after seeing xray doc says the first RCT has completely filled the root so now tooth extraction is the only way. Is it so. I do not want to loose my teeth please hlp me can I go for re RCT.

MDS Endodontist, BDS
Dentist, Jamshedpur
Yes doc a failed Root canal treated tooth may be salvaged at times by doing a re treatment provided its favourable means we need to look for the reason of failure. If it's just because if not putting a crown the reason may be leakage of the filling, this may be taken care off. But if there is any vertical fracture of the root than probably it might have to be pulled out. But it's difficult to comment until one examines the tooth clinically as well As radio graphically. Best regards
