MBBS
General Physician, Fatehabad
There are certain things that you need to be careful about after your dialysis. Visit your nephrologists immediately if you have any of the following signs or symptoms: 1. If you develop a fever after dialysis. 2. You do not feel a buzzing sensation in your fistula or graft. 3. Your skin itches or you have a rash. 4. Blood soaks through your bandage. 5. Skin around the fistula or graft is painful, hot, red or swollen 6. Your breathing fast or have a fast heartbeat 7. You have sudden chest pain or trouble breathing 8. You are having severe vomiting. You will have to limit potassium, phosphorus, sodium (salt), and liquid. You will need more protein than you did before you started dialysis. It may be hard to eat enough food. Your dietitian may suggest that you add extra calories if you are losing weight. Ask your dietitian for more information about a dialysis diet.

Few tips on diet - have a low protein diet (decrease in milk and its products and also decrease in the intake of pulses and nuts etc) - can use corn oil, sunflower oil, olive oil for cooking -decrease the intake of butter, ghee, cream, coconut etc - avoid farsan food items - whole grain cereals are best for carbohydrate intake - get your blood checked for electrolyte levels regularly and adjust salt in diet as per the report values.

Hello, I am 35 years old. Suffering from anal fissure for 4/5 years. It is very painfull during stooling & after stooling. I am taking sysbath with beta dine solution, applying pilex oinment, taking laxit plus before bed time. But bleeding blood is occurring during stooling. It is not healing from inside. How can I get rid from this problem?

Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), MS - Urology, MBBS

Dear yes this anal fissure but the treatment is slightly off line. Remember fissure is due to constipation with passage of hard faeces. It is not a disease but a lifestyle problem so some change in your lifestyle is essential. Though this is not my speciality still follow the suggestions ans they would help you 1. Drink plenty of fluids 2. Take high fibre diet like salads green leafy vegitable and fruits esp. Papita, banana, mango etc. 3. Take liq. Cremaffin plus 1 teaspoonful at night 4. Take isabagol powder 3-4 teaspoonful in 200 ml. Of water at night. 5. Apply zincal ointment in side anus twice a day 6. Continue sitz' bath with kuke warm water. 7. Increase physical activity like walking, games or exercise regularly 8. Drink two glasses of water first in the morning and then take a walk and the go toilet even though you may not feel like it in a few days time it would be regularised. 9. Avoid taking pain killers and kunk food.

This problem may be due to some infection in the tract or even a result of small calculi in the kidneys so first do one cue I.e complete urine analysis and get a usg (sonography) of abdomen and pelvis done. U can also have a glass of water in which coriander seeds and whole cumin (jeera has been soaked overnight) this will help in reducing the frequency of urination to some extent.

6 Symptoms Of Kidney Stones And Its Homeopathic Treatment!

Kidney stone formation is the most common kidney disease, and people who have had it, would immediately be reminded of the severe pain (loin to groin) in the back.

How stones are formed?

  1. The kidney functions as the body’s filters in removing wastes from the body through urine.
  2. Most of the waste is in the form of salts and when there is excessive salts and reduced amount of water, there could be formation of crystals or stones in the kidneys.

Symptoms

  1. Reduced amount of urination
  2. Blood in the urine due to damage of the urinary tract structures
  3. Painful urination with burning sensation
  4. Swollen abdomen
  5. Nausea and Vomiting
  6. Fever and chills

Benefits of homeopathic remedies
Kidney stones are highly likely to be recurrent. A number of factors contribute to their formation. Homeopathy aims at treating the whole body and not just dissolving the stones. It offers various remedies, which ensure the stones are completely dissolved and also prevent recurrence.

Remedies

  1. Berberis Vulgaris is prescribed for the following conditions:
    • Very useful in left-sided stones where patient experiences pain radiating to the ureter, bladder, and urethra and down to the thighs.
    • Burning sensation with urination
    • Slightly red or green urine with mucus (increased consistency of urine)
    • Increase in pain with any kind of physical movement
    • Soreness in the lumbar region of the kidneys
  2. Cantharis is suitable for the following conditions:
    • Paroxysms of renal colic with cutting and stabbing pains
    • Severe pain before and after urination in the urethral area
    • Constant urge to urinate, but very little flow
    • No relief even after sitting and straining
    • Bloody urine (slightly pinkish tinge), if there is damage to internal structures
    • Sharp tearing pain when this damage happens
    • Thirst and aversion to all fluids
  3. Lycopodium is one of the most reliable homeopathic medicines for right-sided kidney stones.
    • Works better for right-sided stones, where it dissolves them completely
    • Severe backache experienced by the affected person prior to passing urine, which reduces after urination
    • Great urge to urinate, even at night
    • Presence of sediments (red or yellow) in the urine
    • Abdominal bloating with distention along with right-sided kidney pain
  4. Hydrangea, also referred to as the stone breaker, reduces chances of recurrence of kidney stones in the following conditions:
    • Right-sided pain
    • Blood-tinged urine
    • Increased frequency of urination
    • Lots of white sediments in the urine. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Homeopath.

BHMS, MD - Homeopathy

Kidney Stones - How Homeopathy Can Treat Them Effectively?

Are you suffering from kidney stones and looking for an effective, natural treatment? You should choose homeopathy, as it works well in treating kidney stones. A kidney stone is a hard, crystalline, mineral development in your kidneys or urinary tract. The condition is called nephrolithisis. Kidney stones occur due to a reduction in your urine volume, and because of the presence of excess stone-forming substance in your urine. Homeopathic treatment of kidney stones does not involve any side effects, and various homeopathic medicines are used as a part of the treatment. Some of them are as follows:

  1. Belladonna
    • This medicine is used when a sharp pain is experienced because of kidney stones.
    • A patient experiences strains and cramps along the ureter during the passage of calculus.
    • Fever and irritation are also likely.
  2. Benzoic acid
    • Benzoic acid is prescribed in case of nephritic colic.
    • Offensive urinary symptoms are experienced. The urine is usually deep red with strong and foul odor.
    • The urine may alternatively be thick, and clear.
  3. Argentinum nit
    • This homeopathic medicine is used for treating kidney stones, which develop because of kidney congestion.
    • Dull backache and ache in the bladder are experienced, along with dark urine, containing deposits of uric acid and blood.
    • A patient experiences an increased urge for urination, but a very small amount of urine is passed at once.
    • A burning sensation while passing urine is indicated along with swelling of the urethra.
  4. Cantharis
    • This homeopathic medicine is used during the paroxysms of renal colic. Extreme pain and excitement are indicated.
    • The pain may be cutting in nature, and it shoots in various directions, affecting your limbs and different parts of the body.
    • There is an increased urge to urinate, and an aversion to fluids is developed by a patient in spite of feeling thirsty.
  5. Berberis
    • This is another effective homeopathic remedy used for treating kidney stones, when the patient experiences a shooting pain radiating from a certain point and he or she becomes unable to move because of the pain.
    • Also there is a darting pain experienced in the ureter, extending down to your legs.
    • There is an indication of the development of little pinheads in the pelvis that starts growing down your bladder.

You must consult a licensed homeopathic practitioner before taking homeopathic medicines for the treatment of kidney stones. A doctor will suggest you the best homeopathic medicines based on the symptoms you experience and the severity of the condition.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!
