Increase in urinary frequency may be due to diabetes mellitus, diabetes insipidus, urinary tract infections, bladder stones or mass etc. First if there is any burning sensation in micturition or lower abdominal pain, fever is present, then it might be due to uti and urine culture should be done followed by proper antibiotic therapy. Get an usg kubp done to exclude cystitis (bladder infection) or bladder stone. If there is no such symptoms present like burning in urine, fasting blood sugar and post prandial blood sugar should be checked to exclude diabetes. Serum sodium, 24hr urine volume and osmolality is checked for excluding diabetes insipidus. Also avoid sweetened drinks, alcohol and excess amount of coffe or tea intake. Water intake should be restricted to 3-4 litres per day. Then according to reports furthur treatment can be done.

Dear sir,

Dear Lybrate User, Benign Hypertrophy of Prostate is a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland. In this clinical condition multiple nodules are formed inside the prostate gland. These nodules often compress the urethra resulting in the narrowing of the lumen of urethra & producing a resistance to the urine flow. Resistance to urine flow requires the bladder to work harder during voiding, possibly leading to progressive enlargement, instability, or weakness of the bladder muscle. Benign Hypertrophy of Prostate can be easily diagnosed by an USG of whole abdomen along with blood test for Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA). Follow the given medication as directed:- 1) 5 drops of Homoeopathic CAUSTICUM 30 at early morning daily before brushing teeth 2) 5 drops of Homoeopathic CONIUM MAC 30 before going to bath daily. 3) 5 drops of Homoeopathic BARYTA CARB 30 just one hour before dinner daily. 4) Homoeopathic Mother Tincture SABAL SERRULATA Q, 30 drops, twice daily, after meals, in a cup of water. Along with the aforesaid medication few changes in your lifestyle are also necessary. Lifestyle alterations to address the symptoms include decreasing fluid intake before bedtime, moderating the consumption of alcohol and caffeine-containing products, and following a timed voiding schedule. Also it would be better if you could void the urine in sitting position.

How can remove kidney stone, and how can reduce belly, is it correct if we add honey in warm water and drink its reduce fat? what is pre caution.

BSc Home Science, M.Sc - Dietitics / Nutrition

Kidney stone can be removed by having some nutrients in your diet to dissolve the stones and than drinking more water to flush out naturally. It is generally noticed that the people who fast for long hours (self dieting), tend to put on more weight because their body start storing even carbs. To loose with heathy food like eat every 3 hours in moderate amounts, a combination of more fibre, whole grains, sprouts, legumes, salads, 3-4 cups green tea, 1 fist dry fruits to have virgin fats, limit aerated & sugary beverages, junk foods, fast foods etc. And exercise for 45 min including yoga especially kapal bharti - 15 min every day. For in-depth understanding, dealing with imbalance diet & other concerns with extra weight and customised diet planning you can contact me separately.

All About Kidney Stones

The pair of kidneys that human beings have, forms an important part in the excretory system. They perform specific and important functions. They excrete urine as well as help in eliminating the toxins, which accumulate in the body. Kidney stones occur when the minerals present in the urine without being discharged, keep on accumulating. This gives rise to an extremely painful and uncomfortable situation. Though sometimes the situation gets revoked all by itself, many a times it requires medical intervention.

Some of the symptoms of kidney stones are

  1. Excruciating pain in the back
  2. Pain while urinating
  3. Tendencies to vomit
  4. Dizziness
  5. Fever

However, there are several preventive measures which you can undertake in order to avert the situation. Some of them are:

  1. Drink lots of water: Kidney stone is one of those rare conditions that once occurred, always carry the latent threat of recurring again. Therefore, drinking water in large quantities becomes essential. The more you drink water, the more frequently you would urinate, thereby curbing the chances of the minerals settling in the kidneys.
  2. Avoid certain foods: Food like beets, spinach, those which are replete with calcium oxalate should be avoided in order to minimize chances of having kidney stones.
  3. Change your diet: If you are trying to avoid the eventuality of developing kidney stones, it is imperative that you change your diet a bit. It is recommended that you exclude animal protein as much as possible and assiduously avoid the intake of salt as much as possible.
  4. Take less calcium supplements: Calcium generally is considered a nemesis to your kidneys and is prescribed by doctors to be avoided. However recent research has thwarted this claim. Calcium does not pose a threat to kidneys. However calcium supplements definitely do and therefore, should be avoided.

Diabetes & Kidney Problems - Know The Complications!

At a point when our bodies process the protein we eat, the procedure creates waste products. In kidneys, millions of tiny blood vessels act as filters since they have even tinier holes in them. As blood flows through these vessels, little molecules such as waste items may press through the gaps. These waste items turn out to be a part of the urine. Helpful substances, such as protein and red blood cells are too enormous to go through the gaps in the filter and stay in the blood.

Diabetes and kidneys: Diabetes can harm the kidneys. Abnormal amounts of glucose make the kidneys filter a lot of blood. After a couple of years, they begin to spill and helpful protein is thereby, lost in urine. Having low protein levels in the urine is called micro albuminuria.

Medication: When kidney disease is analyzed on time, during micro albuminuria, a few medications may keep kidney disease from getting worse. Having elevated levels of protein in the urine is called macro albuminuria. When kidney disease is looked up some other time during macro albuminuria, end-stage renal disease (ESRD) usually follows.

Causes: Strain on the organs may cause the kidneys to lose their filtering capacity. Waste items then begin to develop in the blood. Finally, the kidneys start to fail. This failure, ESRD, is intense. A patient with ESRD needs a kidney transplant or a blood filtration by a machine (dialysis).

Other complications: Individuals with diabetes will probably have other kidney-related issues such as bladder infections and nerve damages in the bladder.

Preventing complications: Not everybody with diabetes goes through a kidney diseases Elements that can impact kidney disease improvement include genetics, blood-sugar control and blood pressure. The more a person keeps diabetes and blood pressure under control, the lower the chances of getting a kidney disease.

Keeping your glucose level high can counteract diabetic kidney problems. Research has demonstrated that blood glucose control diminishes the danger of micro albuminuria by 33%. For individuals who suffer from micro albuminuria have now a reduced danger of advancing to macro albuminuria. Different studies have recommended that blood glucose control can reverse micro albuminuria.

Treatment: Essential treatments for kidney infection include control of blood glucose and blood pressure. Blood pressure dramatically affects the rate at which the condition progresses. Indeed, even a gentle increase in blood pressure can rapidly aggravate a kidney infection. Four approaches to bring down your blood pressure are:

  1. Shedding pounds
  2. Eating less salt
  3. Maintaining a strategic distance from liquor and tobacco
  4. Exercising regularly

A low-protein diet can decrease the amount of lost protein in the urine and increase the protein levels in the blood. Never begin a low-protein diet without talking to your physician or nephrologist.

Mr. Lybrate-user, frequent passing of urine can be a symptom of diabetes. This happens when blood glucose goes beyond 180 mg, glucose comes in to urine, once in urine it draws more water and bladder fills more often and frequency increases. But increased urine frequency can occur even if there is urinary tract infection. Best is to get a blood glucose test done both fasting and after food. If fasting >126 and pp >200 mg, then diabetes is confirmed.

I have burning sensation in urinary tract. The symptoms increases after urination, after making intercourse, whenever there is any pressure in this area like during emptying bowel. Urine culture and other urine test came out normal. There is no bacterial infection found. Still suspecting uti, doctor prescribed rulizo 600 mg for 10 days and flavocip 200 thrice a day for 1 months. It has been 5 days I am taking rulizo 600 but there is no improvement in the symptoms. As I am already a patient of acidity and dyspepsia, nausea and acidity increases a lot although I am on ppi and some skin rashes appeared. It looks like they are side effect of rulizo. So I stopped the antibiotics after 5 days and continuing only flavocip. Please advise what is the reason of the burning sensation in urinary tract as tests did not reveal anything. Is it okay to stop rulizo after 5 days course.

Dear Please get urine examination done to see if you are left with residual infection. Also see that you have usg done with postvoid residual urine, full bladder volume and wall thickness on full bladder with size of prostate. If you are constipated also solve that because passage of hard motions results in fissure giving you same complaints which will not respond to flow dart +. So let me see the reports and then only I can give you correct advice.

What it could be? am I in great trouble? is it the thing I should worry? please help

General Physician (AM)

No, it may not be cirrhosis. People with cirrhosis may lose their appetite and experience nausea, vomiting, and severe weight loss. This can lead to shortage of the minerals calcium and magnesium (signs include muscle cramps, fatigue, weakness, nausea, and vomiting), or a shortage of zinc (signs include reduced ability to taste, changes in taste. In your case it not that, may be simple infection or ulcer present. Requires detailed questioning so as to ascertain your personality and to treat you symptomatically. Treatment is available, safe and without side effects in biochemic system of medication. Consult me in private.
