Urine microalbuminuria tests measured as mg. Of protein leakage. Less than 30 mg is normal. My urine test result shows 50 mg, which is above normal. Between 30 mg to 299 mg indicates early stage kidney disease. How can it be brought within the normal range?

In simple words micoalbuminuria is due to loss of holding capacity of the kidney and absorb protein and leak more than usual protein in the urine. The reasons are many. Usually injury to the kidney (infection, hypertension, diabetes, autoimmune diseases etc) causes this. Finding out the reason for the same will help us doctors to treat the problem and bring the leak down. Please consult a Nephrologist for the same.

why my 4 yr son only urinated once a day on the last 5 days. He has mild autism n still wearing diapers all day. For example yesterday he was urinated on 7 am, today he was urinated on 9 am. I knew exactly because I change his diapers and bathed him. I think he is doing it on purposed, there is no bad symptom like fever or fussing. Drink n act like usual, but I can feel his stomach is bloated and once peeing it will be lots but the color is a bit yellowish. But his poop are normal (once a day). I tried to convinced him to pee and took off the diaper, but he insist to wore the diaper and will pee once he can not hold it anymore. Should I visit a doctor?

First you stop using diapers and give him proper toilet training. Give him chance to feel the urge to urinate and then only he will tell you to pee after few days or months of proper training. Get done his urine routine test once. Give him lots of fluids in form of milk, curd, butter milk, plain water, coconut water etc.

Hi, prevention of kidney stones may include a combination of lifestyle changes and medications. Lifestyle changes you may reduce your risk of kidney stones if you: drink water throughout the day. For people with a history of kidney stones, drink 12-14 glasses of water everyday. If you live in a hot, dry climate or you exercise frequently, you may need to drink even more water to produce enough urine. If your urine is light and clear, you're likely drinking enough water. 1 eat fewer oxalate-rich foods. If you tend to form calcium oxalate stones, restrict foods rich in oxalates. These include rhubarb, beets, bhindi (okra), spinach, swiss chard, sweet potatoes, nuts, tea, chocolate and soy products. Choose a diet low in salt and animal protein. Reduce the amount of salt you eat and choose non animal protein sources, such as legumes. Consider using a salt substitute. Continue eating calcium-rich foods, but use caution with calcium supplements. Calcium in food doesn't have an effect on your risk of kidney stones. Continue eating calcium-rich foods unless your doctor advises otherwise. Ask your doctor before taking calcium supplements, as these have been linked to increased risk of kidney stones. You may reduce the risk by taking supplements with meals. Diets low in calcium can increase kidney stone formation in some people. Medication: can take homoeopathic medicine if the size of the stones is smaller - berberis vulgaris q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice daily for 4 weeks. Revert.

Sir before few days ago I found a stone in ureter. Stone's give unbearable pain. What should I do? Please help me.
Tips for removing kidney stones: 1. Avoid tea, coffee, alcohol, cold drinks, pickles, fish, poultry, meat, spinach, and chocolate. 2. Avoid sour, heavy, and dry food. 3. Increase intake of liquids like water, juice, soup, lime water lemon soda etc. 4. Be sure to drink enough water each day. Usually 1 to 2 liters of water per day is adequate. 5. Drink more if you are perspiring heavily, working outdoors, the weather is hot, etc. 6. Increase the use of barley, horse gram (a type of bean), ginger, and brown rice or parboiled rice. 7. Avoid suppressing urges to urinate and defecate. 9. Boil 10-12 basil leaves in 1 cup of water for 15 minutes. Mix 1 teaspoon of honey in it and take twice a day. Pls send your usg report becoz medication for stones depends upon size, number and location of stones and can be given after usg only.

I usually face blooding from my anus at the time of my daily routine. What should I do?

MBBS, MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Hyderabad
As you are mentioning that you only have blood while passing stool, you need to visit a surgeon for examination, and treatment depends on the findings of the surgeon, you may have a fissure in ano or piles, or some other pathology which can be diagnosed by doing internal examination by proctosigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy only.
