I have a severe migraine from many days, no tablets are able to control the pain, is there any good way to control it?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, migraine is a form of headache. The pain is usually throbbing, pulsating and bursting in character. At times, the pain is one sided or may involve the whole head. Such pain may last for hours or even days. It is often accompanied by other symptoms like nausea or vomiting. At the same time, there is increased sensitivity to light and sound. The causes of the problem may vary from one patient to another and so will the final choice of the homoeopathic remedy. Prevention tips:- 1. Keep a headache diary: this may help you in identifying the trigger factors such as foods, activities and weather 2. Exercise regularly: regular exercise, yoga and relaxation techniques such as meditation can also be of great help. 3. Keep regular sleep patterns: sleep adequately. Sleeping too much or too less can trigger migraine. 4. Watch out what you eat: foods such as caffeine and chinese foods that contain monosodium glucamate and chocolates cheese are well-known trigger factors. 5. Eat regularly: fasting is a very common trigger in many people. If it is such a factor for you too, make sure that you eat at regular intervals. ***selection of homoeopathic remedy depends upon the totality of your symptoms. So please share your symptoms.

My mother is having chronic insomnia. Prescribe any essential oil which will help this sleeping problem.
Hi One of the simplest and most effective ways to induce sleep is to rub some oil on the scalp and the soles of the feet before going to bed. Use sesame oil, brahmi oil, jasmine oil, or coconut oil and massage gently for a few minutes. Slightly warming the oil before applying is helpful. 1-1 drop of cow ghee in both nostrils at night time before sleep. Take sarpgandha vati 1-1 tab twice a day. Take pranacharya no tens capsule 1-1 twice a day. Avoid spicy food. Junk food. Fermented food. Tea.coffee. Do pranayama early in the morning.

How to tackle Migraine

DM - Neurology, MD - General Medicine, MBBS
Neurologist, Hyderabad
Migraine can be tackled by a combination of medical and lifestyle measures.
Medical measures: if you have frequent episodes, you will need 2 types of medicines- one to be taken daily for a period of at least 6 months as prophylaxis and 2nd to be taken during attacks of headache for quick relief of pain. These medication should be started only after consultation with a neurologist and ruling out other rare but serious causes of headache.

Lifestyle measures:
Lifestyle measures play an equal, if not greater role in management of migraine. They include:
1) regular intake of meals. Avoid fasting, eat breakfast, lumnch and dinner at fixed timings.
2) good 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep daily
3) avoiding foods that precipitate migraine like cheese, chocolate, excess coffee/tea and sour foods

In addition, you may have to temporarily avoid excessive travel and exposure to sunlight which can precipitate headache. Yoga/ meditation and relaxation techniques will help immensely.

Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS) is a rapid-onset muscle weakness caused by the immune system damaging the peripheral nervous system. During the acute phase, the disorder can be life-threatening with about a quarter developing weakness of the breathing muscles and requiring mechanical ventilation. Some are affected by changes in the function of the autonomic nervous system, which can lead to dangerous abnormalities in heart rate and blood pressure.

I'm 19 years old, and even though I don't feel nervous or fear or any other emotions, than why do my hands tremble?
Dear lybrate-user. For social anxiety disorder, hand shaking is enough. There may not be any other symptoms like nervousness or fear. Social anxiety disorder treatment consists of cognitive behavioral therapy, life style changes, relaxation therapy and meditation. Once you learn how to manage your anxiety yourself with the help of the above treatment methods, you will be cured. The process could take some time according to the depth of the problem and the circumstances at which the patient lives. Take care.
