Hello doctor! My parents are diabetic. How can I try my best to stop it in coming me in near future. I eat very less or almost no to rice, potato and drink tea without sugar. Thanks.

Hello doctor! My parents are diabetic. How can I try my best to stop it in coming me in near future. I eat very less ...
Merely because your parents have diabetes you need not restrict eating sugar or carbohydrates unless you too have got Diabetes. It is for diabetics that we need to restrict sugars because their system is unable to transport the blood glucose in to the cell. A non diabetic person is capable of transporting his/her glucose in to the cell so there is no problem One should ensure that the quantity of carbohydrates (Sugar) is not more than desired calorie demand to be generated from carbohydrates else the excess gets converted in to fats and causes obesity, which predisposes for diabetes in years after middle age. That is because increased body weight means more tissue, means more requirement of insulin to transport glucose, and the pancreas even if supplying normal quantity of insulin may not do so in such increased demand situations. So eat moderately, keep burning your fat by regular exercises and live healthily.

1. Take balanced diet with proper combination of carbohydrate, protein and fat. Avoid diet high in saturated fats like red meat, whole milk, butter, cheese, cream, ice cream etc which hampers memory and concentration. Take complex carbohydrates like whole wheat bread, brown rice, oat meal, high fiber cereals, lentils, whole beans etc. Avoid processed foods like pasta, potato etc 2. Eat plenty of green leafy vegetables and fruits and drink green tea since they contain anti oxidants which enhance memory 3. Go for regular physical exercise like brisk walking, jogging, cycling etc for 30-45 minutes daily 4. Take some mental exercise like doing cross word puzzle, problem solving exercise, playing chess etc 5. Develop some new hobby and skill like learning music, dancing, playing new game etc 6. DGO, MBBS

Premature ejaculation is very common and is usually not associated with any disease. However it is sometimes associated with infection of male accessory glands, which is treatable. For your wife do her blood tests hb, tc, dc, fasting sugar, prolactin, tsh. For medicines ask me in private question.
