Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretchingstretch do the cat/cow avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Apply hot fomentation. Piriformis stretch 1. Lie on your back. 2. Cross your left leg over your right so that your left ankle rests on your right knee. 3. Use your hands to grab hold of your left knee and pull it gently toward the opposite shoulder. 4. Hold for 15 to 30 seconds. 5. Relax, and then repeat with the other leg. 6. Repeat this cycle 2 to 4 times.

Do hot and cold compress alternately till the time you get relief. Also do massage with warm mustard-oil at least once daily. Also take Mag phos 12x - twice daily for next 7 days. Get back to me after that.

Dear lybrate reader the reason for your back pain could be linked to your over all health and your way of postures used while sitting /lying / stooping etc. I must say you should try to improve your resistance by doing back exercise like stretching backwardly in order to give push to your back muscles and try to improve a bit esp your weight. Walk and take nutrious diet - must go for vitamin-d and vitamin b-12 test. Try to maintain yourself by diet and life style your backache will go off speedily.

My wife is suffering from Plantar fasciitis She has gone through a lot of Physiotherapy but no improvement. Pain goes down as long as the physiotherapy effect is there. Now, Doctors have suggested Topaz Surgery. Just wanted to check how good is it? Any side effects? Will it come back again after the surgery. My wife is 50 years old. There is no other problem like diabetes or BP. Thanks.

Hello lybrate-user, Thank you for contacting me. In physiotherapy for planter fascitis, ultrasound with stretching is done. Some modification in shoes and inserts can help. If this is not helping her you can go for surgery. Your answers regarding surgery can be given by surgeon. I hope this will help you.

Hello, first of all you should know what is backache and by which factors it caused and aggravated. The usual cause of low back pain is the sedentary lifestyle that we lead these days. There is hardly any movement. We remain seated most of the time and stand for very short periods of time. Unfortunately walking, running and cycling like activities are also not a part of our daily routine. To add to it, our diet consists more and more of junk food. Fresh fruits, vegetables and high fibre foods are consumed less and less. These daily practices lead to obesity. The increased body weight puts lot of pressure on the spine which has to bear all the extra unwanted weight. The back muscles which are already weak due to lack of exercise and wrong posture are unable to cope with this increased load. This causes pain in the back muscles. Management for Back Pain:-Along with medicines for relieving pain, one needs to identify the cause and correct it. This may require some medicines or some correction in your posture or reducing weight or improving your lifestyle. At the same time, there is a need to work on the local muscle strengthening. Back muscles need to be strengthened so that they can bear the weight of the upper body. For this exercises of the back muscles are very helpful. Regular walking is also very helpful as it is a wholesome exercise of the body, improves blood circulation and helps lose weight. Most importantly if you are overweight then losing weight is an important part of the whole treatment plan .Long term use of painkillers for low back pain is harmful Treatment for back pain:- Homeopathic medicines are very helpful. They not only treat the acute stages but are also used for the treatment of chronic back pain.Selection of the exact remedy depends upon the individual symptoms of the person.So share the complete symptom picture for the proper treament. In the mean time take Arnica 200, 3 drops in the morning and Rhus tox. 200, 3 drops at night for 7 days.Take care.

My friend has broken his leg before 3 years. doctors treated him n they have put a rod in his leg. After 6 months he was good. He was walking but his leg was became some wat short (3 inches. After removing rod it will come into the previous state are it will be short like now.

This is a general low back ache and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try which will help you relax as well will reduce the pain. Ice can be kept in the low back where you have back pain. It is suggestible to wear lumbo sacral belt which would help you to build the abdominal muscle tone which itself would make you feel better. You can also wear mcr chappals which would help you to have less weight falling in the painful back. As you are too young there may not be any pathological issues but it is better to take iron supplements as it looks like you are anaemic. If you have back pain after you sit for long hours then it is due to your haemoglobin levels as it is important to check that. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having back / leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain.

I am 57 years old, male, having mixed Depression-Anxiety and Schizophrenia since 1987. I have taken innumerous drugs for the above ailments, but right now, I am taking a) Venlor XR 150 mg 1-0-0 B) Mirtaz 15 mg 0-0-1 for depression-anxiety. A) Sizodon plus 0-0-1 B) Sizopin 25 mg 0-0-1 for Schizophrenia and Lithosun 300 mg 0-0-1 as a mood stabilizer. There is relief. But of late (say, since a month), I have a problem. There is numbness in a part of my left wrist (near the thumb area) and it is spreading upwards. What is the problem? Is it due to the drugs I am taking or a neurological one? Please confirm.

There are long term side effects of drugs you use and problem could be neurological as well until excluded. I would suggest to start getting herbal support of brain toners, neurotonics and other herbal memory enhancers. Jatamansi, shankhpushpi, brahmi, calcined pearl etc play a vital role. Better to avoid otc products and get it prepared through some vaidya or practicing ayurveda doctor. Practice of pranayam, meditation, yoga postures, walks are very important.

A high uric acid level can be caused when your body either produces too much uric acid or your kidneys don't eliminate uric acid rapidly enough. The location of the knee pain can vary depending on which structure is involved. With infection, the whole knee might be swollen and painful, while a torn meniscus or fracture of a bone gives symptoms only in one specific location. The severity of the pain can vary, from a minor ache to a severe and disabling pain.
