Get your ear checked by an ent specialist for any problem in the ear canal and if that is alright then you will have to go to an audiologist for a pure tone audiometry. This should give you some information about the cause.

First reason you already explained smoking, second main reason for this is iron deficiency which leads to dehydration by ceasing mucus production, smoking also causes dryness, so keep your throat hydrated with fresh fruits with pulp like banana, guava, mango chickoo, papaya, do not take cold drinks, junk food, start with iron rich diet, honey jaggery, raisins and most imprtant in your case do not do salt water gargling, this will further dehydrate your throat.

I am suffering from sinus problem and I came to know about it last week before dis I had asthma and even dust allergy. I still hav dust allergy should I still use my inhaler. Because I hav problem at night breathing.

DORL, MBBS
ENT Specialist, Faridabad
Sinus is a normal roomy structure around nasal cavity its infection called sinusitis, if a person suffering from nasal obstruction along with sinusits and mild to moderate nasal allergies it means most probably he is suffering from dns (deviated nasal septum. Nasal obstruction is because of the deviated portion of the nasal septum (this is the bony partition of the nose cavity. Allergies are because of the hampered muco-ciliary mechanism (normally mucus is produced in the nose to moisten our nose cavity, oral cavity, and help food bolus to move downward, this mucus is basically moves on the cilia of the nasal mucosa) this mechanism gets hampered and mucus start accumulating in the nose and sinus cavity which is why thick mucus comes from nose in patients of nose obstruction and person develops sinusiits. When a surgeon removes the nasal septum deviation has not been removed properly the symptoms persists, and patient thinks that the nose bone has again regrown. It is not because of regrowth but because of half surgery done or due to the non removal of the deviation (reason can be many) nowadays nasal septal deviation can be removed endoscopically.

My wife have bleeding problem in nose once or twice in every year from last 3 years. What is the problem and what is treatment.

MS , MBBS
ENT Specialist, Bangalore
Hi. Bleeding from the nose, both in children and young adults is due to nose picking. Although in elderly its mainly because of hypertension. Sometimes even vigorous rubbing of nose could cause nasal bleed. As an emergency, you could pinch the nose for five minutes while you breath through the nose and that should stop nasal bleed.

These ulcers will come again because it is not related to cold drinks or cold weather. It can be allergic reactions in the form of ulcers but it is less likely to occur and it will go when she stops drinking cold drinks or when weather changes. If these are recurrent aphthous ulcers it will come and go irrespective of any of the things you have mentioned. You can try applying Amlexanox gel and Rexidine m forte gel alternatively 3-4 times a day directly over ulcers. If the problem persists even after 7 to 14 days use, visit an oral medicine specialist in your area. You can personally consult me if you feel so.
