I have asthma problem for over 20 years. What should I do? Give suggestions for better relief.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, Asthma is a common chronic inflammatory disease of the airways. Asthma is characterized by recurrent episodes of wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing. Sputum may be produced from the lung by coughing but is often hard to bring up. During recovery from an attack, it may appear pus-like due to high levels of white blood cells called eosinophils. Symptoms are usually worse at night and in the early morning or in response to exercise or cold air. Some people with asthma rarely experience symptoms, usually in response to triggers, whereas others may have marked and persistent symptoms. Asthma is thought to be caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Medication: Bronchitis/ Asthma can be treated with homoeopathic medicines completely, only need to be regular with the medication and avoid those foods/ things to which you are allergic to for the time being. Keep taking your on going medication, reduce it gradually and slowly once homoeopathic starts acting. Take Bakson's Astha-Aid drops/ 10-15 drops in 1/2 cup water/ thrice d day for 1 month. Report me back after a month.

I am 25 years old and I have mild asthma. Im using maxiflo 125 for it. When I need. But the problem I recently got surgery done for my sinus because colds and cough was just not going. But even after surgery. I have little colds. And cough always keep coming. White cough. Doctor said its allergic and you should keep washing you nose. And lot of medicines antibiotics. Still havnt work. Can you help please.

Diploma in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases (DTCD), MBBS
Pulmonologist, Delhi
Your Dr. is right. This is probably allergic cough and cold. In such cases surgery only helps in clearing obstruction and you will need to take medicine to suppress allergy. You are taking right inhaler, continue taking it at least once in the night. Increase your resistance by doing exercise and not by any medicine.

I am 19 year old female. I've never experienced breathlessness low bp (89/53) and dizziness before that viral fever in february. I also consulted an ENT doctor at that time. He ran an ECG which showed everything normal. But now I feel like extreme weakness and body ache. There is profuse sweating in my palms all the time. After climbing stairs or walking distance I can hardly breathe! Whenever I do some work it feels I am having mild fever. My periods are late and extremely painful this time. I have lost my appetite to a great extent. The doctor gave me nutritional supplements. But I still don't feel good. What's wrong with me and what should I do?

Dear lybrate user, asthma is preceded by the production of histamines in the blood. Histamine is produced due to the entrance of foreign particles in the body. The triggering cause behind the onset of asthma varies in every patient. A detailed case taking along with some blood test results are required to diagnose the proper underlying cause behind asthma. Please conduct a laboratory test of your blood for tc, dc, esr & ige. Revert back with the results & consult me privately via lybrate. In the mean-time you can take homoeopathic natrum sulph 200, 5 drops, thrice daily, in empty stomach.

You are having post nasal drip. It is because of allergic rhinitis. Avoid things which increase your symptoms. Nasal corticosteroid and anti allergic tablet is the treatment.

You have not mentioned if you get breathless at times or feel chest tightness. If you are diagnosed to be suffering from asthma then you should be taking inhalers and have regular follow up with your doctor. Avoid cold foodstuffs, strong smells, dusts etc.
