Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Hello dr Three years back I fell down from stairs and from that time I have pain in my right leg. From hip to feet. If I am working there is no problem but when its my rest time and I go to bed leg start paining, I feel like something is pinching or its like jurking can you suggest me something ?

A clinical examination is a must in your case I feel you have post traumatic fibrositic trigger spots at the back which need to be infiltrated by Inj LAHC Meanwhile you can take inj vitneurin IM daily one for 10 days

It will depend upon the grade of tear. Usually grade 1 doesn't require surgery but grade 2 and 3 will have to undergo the surgery. Also post surgical rehab will be very important to bring back the normal strength and function.

Sir, As a first aid, I advice you to take tab Calpol 650 mg , 3 times per day, after food. Since when do you have ankle joint pain. Is there any swelling of the joint, redness, decreased movement. Since two year having problem of severe stiffness & pain in between neck & shoulder region .my physiotherapist told me its needle or tight bands of muscles is there which are keep occurring despite taking treatment and muscle relaxant, painkiller. Hi Apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day.

Neck advice hot fomentation x twice daily. Neck exercises. Neck stretching. Postural correction. Shoulder shrugs. Core strengthening exercises. Take frequent breaks at work use cervical pillow. Use back support. Self massage the back of neck.

Most of the injuries of back while lifting weight are related to inter-vertebral discs. And since the pain is from past 1 year you need to consult an orthopaedic physician and get an mri done. After that you have to start extensive physiotherapy which will include exercises to strengthen your back and modalities to reduce your back pain. Never underestimate your back pain and as soon as possible consult an orthopaedician and a physiotherapist. I hope I helped you. Thank you!

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contacts your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem. Kidney stones also can cause low backache. Consult a urologist as well.

Hi you can start physiotherapy treatment to strengthen the muscles around the knee joint. Meanwhile apply cold pack for 20 minutes thrice a day for 5 days. Do reply for private consultation and detailed treatment plan wishing you a good health.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front.Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.
