How does exercise affect my blood pressure? And What's my daily sodium (or salt) limit?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
How does exercise affect my blood pressure? And What's my daily sodium (or salt) limit?
Brisk exercise increases BP in the start but after finishing BP slowly comes to normal. That is why a Hypertensive patient should not start brisk exercise in the starting few days.Let the BP comes to normal with medicines and then go for brisk exercises but for the time when BP is high just have a control on your diet along with medicines and just go for a normal morning or evening walks so that your daily routine is not broken. But once your BP starts coming to normal start doing Cardiovascular and Aerobic exercises which include walking, jogging, jumping rope, bicycling (stationary or outdoor), cross-country skiing, skating, rowing, high- or low-impact aerobics, swimming, and water aerobics. According yo WHO recommendations we shoul take 5 gm of salt/day but average indian consumption is 9 gm/day and if we reduce this average to 5 gm/day, we can reduce incidents of stroke by 25% and heart attacks by 10%.

If your bp is because of hereditary reasons, you might have to continue the medication for life long. But you can control your bp with help of proper diet, yoga and meditation. Regarding the depression, do no take medication without consulting a doctor. Also contact a counsellor/psychogherapist who will help you to come out of your depression.

Thanks for the query. Please tell me whether you are on treatment for diabetes ?Why was the test done? The information is not really correct and complee. Because HDL & TGL numbers look ok. But Total Cholesterol (47.6 mg) looks to be incorrect. HDL 32 is lower than expected. TGL is high. Fasting glucose is suggestive of presence of diabetes. It is better if full lipid profile and diabetic profile is done. That is Fasting, Pp blood glucose, HbA1c%, & Total cholesterol, LDL, VLDL, HDL & TGL. Plus give details of your weight and height.

I am a 49 year old male suffering from high BP, diabetes, acidity and piles. Kindly advise.

I am a 49 year old male suffering from high BP, diabetes, acidity and piles. Kindly advise.
after needful investigation, you need medicines for bp, diabetes, acidity and treatment of piles can be done In the majority of cases, piles resolve on their own without the need for any treatment. Treatments can help significantly reduce the discomfort and itching that many patients experience Diet - piles can be caused by too much straining when doing bowel movements, which is the result of constipation. A change in diet can help keep the stools regular and soft. This involves eating more fiber, such as fruit and vegetables, or switching your cereal breakfast to bran. Water is the best drink, and the patient may be advised to increase his/her water consumption. Some experts say too much caffeine is not good. Body weight - if the patient is obese, losing weight may help reduce the incidence and severity of hemorrhoids. Simple things you can do yourself to help prevent piles: Try not to strain when you go to the toilet Avoid laxatives Exercis take tab pilex 1tab tds, anovate cream locally inside anus, siltz bath [hot water in a tub, add kmno4 in it, sit 1/2 an hr in tub, it will help.Avoid spicy ,Drink 3- 4 Litre of Water Daily. welcome for further help. or go for surgery

What is symptoms of high blood pressure? What is cure if it? How long it's effect tends?

MD, Fellowship in Intergrative Medicine, MBBS
Integrated Medicine Specialist, Kochi
What is symptoms of high blood pressure? What is cure if it? How long it's effect tends?
There can be no symptoms for high bp. Sometimes you can have headache, giddiness etc. Hypertension is a lifestyle disease which require only a lifestyle solution and dietary changes and does not need medicines. Detailed medical, dietary, occupational ,social, family, and environmental history taking is important to find the root cause. Reduce Salt, Reduce stress, Exercise daily-Sleep for 8 hours, reduce weight if you are over weight Has your Dr. done inflammatory panel tests, thyroid panel testing .Mineral and vitamin deficiency testing and their results. Get educated about the disease you have and question your doctor .You should have complete control over your health and not your Dr. Has your Dr. Excluded reversible causes of hypertension which when detected and treated completely reverses your BP otherwise you will be taking medicines lifelong unnecessarily without finding out the root cause. So Get the Right tests done, so that you do not get bad surprises later. Get the Right Advice from the Right doctor who takes a detailed history and educates you before medicating you. Try to reverse your BP by diet and lifestyle and few food supplements without any medication. I am a Lifestyle, and wellness Consultant from USA . I treat the root cause and not the symptoms Treat your personal trigger for high BP to fix the root cause and get off BP medications for ever provided you do not have any structural heart disease proved by cardiac tests like Echo, TMT etc.
