My age is 33 yrs. I am experiencing pain in right shoulder blade. The pain is not spreading to other places. I noticed when I sit for too long I get this pain. Could you please suggest what precausions to take or any medicine.

Hi thanks for your query. If you have only localized shoulder pain, then you have to rule out any injury as a cause for it. There are many causes of shoulder pain but we have to look out for a cause as treatment is dependent on it. If there is no swelling/fever etc, then I think intensive physical therapy with a short course of anti-inflammatory medications can be tried, if it does not improve in next 2-3 weeks, then we will have to evaluate to find out a cause and treat accordingly. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Thanks & regards Dr Akshay Kumar Saxena

Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings. This will relieve your problem. Also press your palm with your finger tips in both hands. Consult after 10 days.

Pain during menstruation is called as dysmenorrhoea. If you r suffering from this since long time and if it is not controlled by meftal spas and if you have to stay at home during menses because of pain, then you should get sonography done to find out the cause. It could be ovarian cyst or endometriosis also.

Involvement of back (vertebral problem) can't be ignored. This could be one possibility. If it persists, pl get x-ray of lumbo-sacral spine done and send reports. Avoid bending. Also inform if bending aggravate the pain? for knee pain janu dhara is a better option in which special herbal oils are poured over knees after heating the oil. Some oral medicines are commonly prescribed for knees and leg/ foot pains both. Pl inform the required info and consult for details. For the time being pl take decoction of ayurvedic maha rasnadi kvath 20 ml bd before meals for a fortnight and massage a bit gentally with mahavishgarbh oil by heating a bit.

Sir pelvic floor muscles kya hoti hai. Agar yeh weak hoti hai toh inka tratment kya hai.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Pelvic floor muscles are the layer of muscles that support the pelvic organs and span the bottom of the pelvis. The pelvic organs are the bladder and bowel in men, and bladder, bowel and uterus in women. Having strong pelvic floor muscles gives us control over the bladder and bowel. Weakened pelvic floor muscles mean the internal organs are not fully supported and you may have difficulty controlling the release of urine, faeces (poo) or flatus (wind). Common causes of a weakened pelvic floor include childbirth, obesity and the associated straining of chronic constipation. Pelvic floor exercises are designed to improve muscle tone and prevent the need for corrective surgery.

Do a massage on your back with oil named mahadhanwantarum taila. Make it warm and massage with someone's help. After that, give hit fomentation with a hot bottle or a cloth pack filled with salt and heated. Try to keep your posture erect always. Don't kick bike etc if possible for few days. Avoid jerks during journey. Increase calcium intake in form of warm milk, capsicum, paneer etc. When pain subsides, start practicing yoga asanas daily for back ache under guidance. I am 70 years old male. Recently I developed initial stage of oa in left knee and was advised colla cee gs. Dose was 28gms per day. Took for 3/months. My pain reduced by 80%. Doctor said to give gap of 3 months. My question is if this medicine is managing pain or provide lubricant in knee joints? how long it should be take.

Orthopedist, Delhi
Hello, this is Dr. Mathur from new delhi. Welcome to lybrate. Collacee gs basically contains collagen granules and glucosamine which terms to repair the lost cartilage. So it is not a painkiller but tends to increase the lubrication of the joint in a way.
