Hi. It's normal to lose up to 100 hair per day, and in most people, those hairs grow back. But many men -- and some women -- lose hair as they grow older. You can also lose your hair if you have certain diseases, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, or lupus. If you take certain medicines or have chemotherapy for cancer, you may also lose your hair. Other causes are stress, a low protein diet, a family history, use of bore water, or nutritional deficiencies. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: take diet rich in protein like non-veg, eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, vitamin b12, iron, zinc and omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin), different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. Walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) take proper 6-9 hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regularly massage head and hair with coconut oil, almond oil (depending upon your scalp type) 1 to 3 times a week. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you fit and young! medication: take homoeopathic medicines - schwabe's wiesbaden 200 & alfalfa tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Use schwabe's arnica shampoo and hair growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use bakson's arnica hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Beside this, you can take one tablet of multivitamin folli hair once daily for 3 months. Get back to me for further suggestion.

Dark discoloration of the skin under the eye is mainly referred to as dark circles. It is also known as dark rings or shadows. Some of the main causes behind the formation of dark circles are heredity, aging, dry skin, prolonged crying, working for long hours in front of a computer, mental or physical stress, lack of sleep and an unhealthy diet. Both men and women of different age groups can have dark circles. Dark circles are not a serious skin problem, but they make people look tired, exhausted, unhealthy and older. You can easily get rid of unsightly shadows under your eyes using some easy home remedies Rose Water Rose water has incredible ingredient for skin care. It rejuvenates the skin and has a soothing effect on tired eyes. Due to its mild astringent properties, it also works as a good skin toner. 1. Soak cotton eye pads in pure rose water for a few minutes. 2. Put the soaked pads on your closed eyelids. 3. Leave them on for about 15 minutes. Follow this remedy twice daily for a few weeks Coconut Oil Massaging with coconut oil is another effective natural remedy to lighten dark circles. Due to its moisturizing quality, coconut oil also promotes smooth skin and prevents wrinkles and fine lines under eyes. 1. Simply massage some extra-virgin coconut oil on the under eye area. 2. Leave it on for a few hours, and then wash it off. 3. Repeat two to three times daily for a few months or until you are satisfied with the results. 4. Turmeric Turmeric has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help minimize dark circles. It will also make the skin around your eyes smoother and softer. 1. Mix two teaspoons each of turmeric powder with pineapple juice to make a thick paste. 2. Apply this paste to the affected area. 3. Leave it on for about 10 minutes before wiping it away with a soft, damp cloth. 4. Do this daily until you get positive results. Additional Tips ? Get adequate sleep and rest. ? Avoid rubbing your eyes too much or too often as it causes the blood vessels to dilate, thus making the under eye circles appear darker. ? Remove your make-up before going to sleep or else it may irritate your eyes. ? Limit sun exposure. ? Drink plenty of water throughout the day to get rid of water retention that could be causing the problem. ? To avoid eye bags caused by pooling of fluids in your lower eyelids, elevate your head by adding two or more pillows under your head before going to sleep. ? Pay attention to your diet and eat foods rich in vitamins A, C and E. ? Stop smoking and restrict alcohol and caffeine consumption; smoking damages skin cells, and alcohol and caffeine contribute to dehydration which in turn weakens the delicate skin around the eyes For treatment medicines consult privately any queries inform me.

Dear lybrate user. Warts are benign skin growths caused by viruses. Most come from the human papillomavirus (hpv), which infects the top layer of skin and causes it to grow rapidly, creating a wart. You can contract this virus if you cut or damage your skin in some way, and then touch someone else who has it. Use garlic juice to apply on warts for a cure. Take care.

Hi, the location and the description given by you is pointing towards'milia' milia are small white bumps that form on the face when dead skin cells get trapped beneath the skin's surface, forming small, hard cysts as a result. While milia can occur at any age, it is most commonly seen with infants. Roughly half of all babies experience some form of milia. Milia will disappear without treatment. Management: -regular cleansing is an important step in treating milia at any age. Pat your face dry gently using a clean, soft towel. -go for an exfoliating moisturizer or a targeted exfoliating product. -use a targeted retinol lotion and apply it directly to the area of your skin affected by the milia. -protect your skin from the sun. -avoid heavy cosmetics or creams. -resist the temptation to scratch them away. Milia will disappear on their own in a few weeks and should not cause any discomfort or pain. Home-remedies: -mix the sugar, honey, jojoba oil and vanilla in a small bowl. Add oatmeal to the mixture and stir until the compound becomes a paste. Dip your fingertips into the facial mix and scoop some of the paste out of the bowl. Rub the oatmeal paste onto your face and massage the skin for several minutes. The sugar grains will work as a scrub to remove dead skin and debris. Rinse your face with warm water to remove the scrub. -take pomegranate peels and roast them until they are toasty brown. Crush into a fine powder and mix in lemon juice. Apply to your face and allow to remain for up to 20 minutes. You can do this a few times weekly. Medication: take homoeopathic medication - calcarea carb. 30/ 3 times a day daily for a month, revert.

I have pimples on my face and back and it's paining. When it breaks scars are formed. How can I get rid of it?

BHMS
Homeopath,
I have pimples on my face and back and it's paining. When it breaks scars are formed. How can I get rid of it?
Dear lybrate user, pimples/ acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory skin disease which develops due to blocking of the hair follicles in skin. These blockages occur due to 4 abnormal processes: 1) excess sebum production due to androgens 2) excessive deposition of the protein keratin leading to comedone formation 3) infection of propionibacterium acnes (p. Acnes) bacteria on the hair follicles 4) local release of pro-inflammatory chemicals in the skin. Neither can you stop the over-production of androgen or keratin protein nor can you stop the release of pro-inflammatory chemicals because all these processes takes place internally in your skin. However you can stop the accumulation of p. Acnes bacteria on your skin by preventing your skin from getting oily. Always keep a handkerchief with you wherever you go outside. You should wipe off the slightest amount of sweat from your face as soon as you perspire on entering your room from outside wash your face with an oil-free, non-moisturizing facewash. Take a low carbohydrate diet. Do some exercise daily. Drink a lots of water to avoid constipation. Avoid pricking the pimples or popping the sebum as it may lead to black pigmentation & permanent scar formation. You can also take homoeopathic calcarea phos 200, 5 drops, thrice daily, in empty stomach also you can apply homoeopathic mother tincture berberis aquifoium q on the dark spots on your skin which are produced after the resolution of the pimples.

What is the good treatment of regular hairfall.

Certified Diabetes Educator, Registered Dietitian (RD), PGDD, Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (B.U.M.S), General Physician
Dietitian/Nutritionist,
What is the good treatment of regular hairfall.
Is your hair loss accompanied with greying of hair and have they become very thin? your hair needs a very high protein well-rounded diet. Hair and nails are the last organs to get nutrition in the body, hence only if all the organs get sufficient nutrition and proteins, only then the remaining nutrition would be used for hairs. A strand of hair is composed of mostly protein, which means your hair needs protein to grow. Hence a therapeutic diet prescribed by a registered dietitian can help a lot in hair growth. Besides diet excessive stress, current/past dandruff and some medication are conclusively known to retard hair growth and promote hair loss. - cut down on the use of hair spray, hair gels, and styling creams that contain harsh chemical ingredients, which can dry out the scalp and cause the formation of flakes. Also harsh treatments such as perms, colours, relaxers etc take a toll on the health of your hair. - avoid changing your shampoo and conditioner constantly. Stick to one good mild cleansing shampoo for six months before changing. - excessive exposure to the sun, pollution, rain water and dust without proper protection makes the hair dry, brittle and limp. Use a live in conditioner during the rains to protect it from the humidity and wash and oil it regularly to maintain a healthy scalp. I may also prescribe medications like biotin or minox. That are proven to help in hair growth and repair.
