Your spine disk is compressed and pain radiate through nerve supply in your leg. Advice: use hot pack for pain relief on back for 10 min. Do pelvic floor muscle exercises 2 times in a day. Lumber muscle stretching exercise like lying supine and both knees touches to the chest by the help of hands do 10 repetition 2 times in a day. Manual lumber traction by lying supine both legs on chair below knees and chair height must be little higher then hip to knee height.

You should continue your physiotherapy if you are having pain. Few things I would like to tell you, firstly when you sleep turned to one side you should try to bring your knees close to your chest by folding your hip and knees and keep a pillow between your thighs. When you sleep straight with your face facing the ceiling, you should try to keep your legs folded by putting 2-3 pillows bellow your knees. This will keep your back relaxed in night. Even when you sit for long hours you should keep some foot rest bellow your feet so that you knees are slightly above the level of you seat. Try avoid long hours travelling.

You seem to be having severe acute back pain. For immediate relief do the following. 1. Take over the counter available analgesics like ibuprofen or paracetamol. 2. Apply topical analgesic creams like volini gel. 3. Apply warm water bag fomentation for 10 mins 4 times a day. 4. Take rest for 1- 2 days, can perform routine activities like visiting the toilet. 5. As your pain decreases start back stretching exercises. 6. If pain is accompanied by tingling or numbness in legs or not responding to medicines consult immediately with doctor. Once back pain is decreased start your normal work and definitely do back exercises.

Having back pain tooo much and the diet of mine is increasing day by day please help me to curb this problem.
Here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This will help relieve your symptoms and reduce any swelling in the area of the pain. -apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48 to 72 hours, and then use heat. Take pain relievers medicine. --while sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. -avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -stretching and strengthening exercises are important. But, starting these exercises too soon after an injury can make your pain worse. -some physiotherapy treatment like ift current can give you some relief. -a physical therapist can tell you when to begin stretching and strengthening exercises and how to do them. Please see a dietitian for your diet chart.

I am suffering from acute back pain and pain in the thigh and left hip for the last two months even after taking all medicine and physiotherapy treatment and homeopathic treatment. I slipped while coming out from a lift in the month of May after I returned after visiting my ailing brother who has been diagnosed with rapidly progressive dementia and his condition is deteriorating day by day. My parents are not alive and he is the only one who can come in high and low times. I become so much depressed after seeing him in such a state. I keep on crying and praying for my brother recovery but Dr. said it is incurable. I don't know what to do. My family and kids are also suffering due to my condition but I am unable to keep control on my emotions. Please guide me what to do. Thanks a lot for your help.

Some facts in life are to be accepted as they are. Some chronic ailments lie dementia have a defined course. Your attached emotions with your brother are understandable, but your feelings and emotions seem to be dominated by sadness and negativism towards self and surroundings. This definitely suggests a depressive disorder which is probably assisted in precipitation by a hypothyroid state and post hysterectomy status. I would suggest you to consult a psychiatrist with your latest thyroid reports and consider starting some helpful medications to alleviate depression. You may consult me online fro any further queries and treatment.

Causes of Back Pain

Physiotherapist, Hyderabad
Causes of Back Pain

Typically, younger individuals (30 to 60-year-olds) are more likely to experience back pain from a lower back muscle strain or from within the disc space itself - such as a lumbar disc herniation or lumbar degenerative disc disease.

This article details a description of typical symptoms and their possible causes in younger adults. The next page details typical causes of lower back pain in adults older than age 60.

Possible Causes: Back muscle strain

A back muscle strain or ligament strain is one of the most common causes of acute lower back pain. Lifting a heavy object, twisting, or a sudden movement can cause muscles or ligaments stretch or develop microscopic tears.

Symptoms: Low back pain that travels to the buttock, leg, and foot (sciatica)

Sciatica includes any combination of the following symptoms:

  • Pain typically is ongoing (as opposed to flaring up for a few days or weeks and then subsiding)
  • Pain may be worse in the leg and foot than in the lower back
  • Typically felt on one side the buttock or leg only
  • Pain that is usually worse after long periods of standing still or sitting: relieved somewhat when walking
  • More severe (burning, tingling) vs. dull, aching pain
  • May be accompanied by weakness, numbness or difficulty moving the leg or foot

If any Doubts please feel free to contact me.

The best ayurveda herb for your case is heat 2-4 tablespoons of mustard oil. Fry 2-3 cloves of crushed garlic and a spoonful of pounded omum seeds in it. Cool it to a bearable temperature. Filter and use it to massage a painful joint. Causes compression of the spinal nerve due to ruptured vertebral disc in the spine. Contraction of the piriformis muscle, which may lead to strangulation of the nearby sciatic nerve, resulting in pain. Faulty posture such as slumping on a chair, sleeping in a curved position. Injury that hurts the lower back region can be a triggering cause for sciatic pains. This will help with your concern.

Hi doctor, I am currently 15 weeks pregnant. We had scan at 13 weeks and things are normal. I have 3 issues now, 1. Since night I'm having severe knee and leg pain, have applied pain relief gels but no use. 2. From this weeks start I'm facing severe constipation that the skin in anal passage is paining much while trying to poop. 3. For the last 2 days I caught cold and my nose is blocked all the time which disturbs sleep. It would be better if some simple home remedies given. In another 2 weeks my next scan is scheduled. Also I am not feeling any baby movements quite frustrated.

Respectful future mom greetings! moving your joints will reduce the pain intensity but cannot be completely relieved. Take advised amount of fluid to overcome constipation and walking may avoid such inconveniences. Breath through nose maximum - hold it for few seconds you can - and allow it to get release through mouth (not to be blown) and avoid raised pillows - it may help your cold symptoms. All these are under the scope of physiotherapy I have suggested. The best part is try it and if it doesn't work take advise from your physician. All the best for you and your baby!
