MD Homeopath, DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Gurgaon
Dear lybrate reader your pain in hands and especially joints are supposed to be due to rheumatoid arthritis or gout - for that we should know the whole detaile that for how long have you been suffering and level of uric acid to guide you properly - any way take plenty of fluid and avoids diet rich in proteins till the time you are not sure of your uric acid - esp non-veg and cereals also try to reduce your body weight at least 5kg. And do light exercise like simple walk to maintain yourself. Take proper medicine accordingly.

Dear lybrate-user, At age 70, the body recuperation declines, there is muscle mass and bone loss. Injections of calcium may help, but only if her digestion is able to take it and also, if she is consuming adequate fats, vitamins to ensure digestion of these injections. Change her diet to increase fresh vegetables and fruit. Avoid besan, brinjals, rajma etc from her diet that will cause further digestive strain. Give her mineral rich grains like ragi, jowari. Wheat (roti) is also very diffivult to digest. Give butter milk. Regards.

I have pain and swelling in left leg that had a fracture 2 months back. What should I do.

MBBS, MS - Orthopaedics, M.Ch - Orthopaedics
Orthopedist, Chennai
Some swelling and pain is expected up to 3 months after a fracture as the fracture is still in healing stage. If the pain has gradually been decreasing over the months, it is probably normal. However if it is a recent onset pain or it has suddenly increased, then it may be a more serious problem and you should visit your orthopedist for an expert opinion.

Working as a it professional. Used to sit 9 hours not continuously but more time will be sitting only. Getting lower back pain now. How to get relif from that?

MD - Medicine, MBBS
General Physician, Kangra
Sir your backpain is posture related. First take a break after every 30 min. You can keep a pillow behind your back to support it and to keep it straight. Do some stretching exercises dat will help you.
