Mr. lybrate-user, If diabetes is diagnosed, the treatment with appropriate drugs has to be started immediately. Diabetes is a condition which can only be controlled very well, there is no cure. Treatment has to be for lifetime. There is no other option. If you want me to guide specifically about which treatment to take and what other precautions to be taken, please come in a private conversation with following details: Fasting, Pp blood glucose levels, HbA1c%, present drugs being taken if any, dietary pattern and extent of daily exercise. Based on those details I will be able to give specific guidelines. Thanks.

Mr Rupesh, If your blood sugars are well controlled then there is a possibility of being able to build the muscles. Your diet should include some more proteins along with other things. So llok for some specific protein supplements with less of or nil carbs.

Comparatively second reading is better. Control of Diabetes is a permanent approach. I presume your father is elderly. Proper Diet which is in time, with no free sugar, more green leafy vegetables, No fast and no feast, Proper regular exercise like walking proper medications as advised by the doctor and regular visits to doctor for follow up is a general approach. .So always depend on your doctor

I hope that blood pressure and blood sugar levels are under control. Only thing bothering you is lack of sleep. Take a glass if warm toned milk with a spoon of honey added to it. Take care about rest of calories, you can balance by deleting other items worth 200 call in this milk food. Listen to soothing music, read good books, don't watch violence on tv. Meditation before sleep helps.

Yes it is! probably this is cervical factor infertility. You need to do a simple 7-14 day antibiotic course to finish the pelvic infection. Without that thin egg white discharge the sperms won't be able to climb up and reach the egg for pregnancy.

How I control uric acid?

Certified Diabetes Educator, Registered Dietitian (RD), PGDD, Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (B.U.M.S), General Physician
Dietitian/Nutritionist,
There are many lifestyle and dietary guidelines that can be followed to protect against future flares or prevent gout or uric acid problems from occurring in the first instance: maintain a high fluid intake (2-4 liters a day) avoid alcohol eat a balanced diet limit fish, meat and poultry intake. If attempting to lose weight, avoid low-carbohydrate diets. If carbohydrate intake is insufficient, the body is unable to burn its own fat properly, releasing substances called ketones into the bloodstream. This results in a condition called ketosis that can increase the level of uric acid in the blood. It is most important to avoid foods that are high in purines, to ensure that the levels of uric acid in the blood do not get too high. Here is a list of high-purine foods to be wary of: beef kidneys brains dried beans and peas liver mackerel yeast fermented products (breads etc) mushrooms lose some weight by walking or other exercise, avoid meats and get always be on a prescribed diet as prescribed by a registered dietitian. I am a registered dietitian, certified diabetes educator and a doctor, consult privately for detailed treatment plans using diet and medications.

lybrate-user, If your HbA1c% is 10, that means your diabetes is uncontrolled. Change in HbA1c% occurs after 3 to 4 months of proper treatment with adequate amount of drugs being taken regularly plus exercising daily and taking restricted diet every day as prescribed by the doctor. You are not supposed to eat any sweet dishes. At the most a small piece may be taken. To say diabetes is in good control, fasting glucose should be closer to 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c&<6.8. Thanks.

I am a diabetic for the last 28 years. Present sugar levels are 110 fasting and 170 post lunch after 2 hours of lunch. Erection problem. My age is 65 years male.

I am a diabetic for the last 28 years. Present sugar levels are 110 fasting and 170 post lunch after 2 hours of lunch...
Your diabetes is better understood by a test called hba1c. But your current sugar levels are suggesting you are quite close to controlled levels. So for erection failure, stress could be the cause. Relax. Take a holiday with wife. You will find happiness.
