I have a problem of bedwetting. I am suffering from my childhood so please help me to cure this problem as it is not good for me.

I have a problem of bedwetting. I am suffering from my childhood so please help me to cure this problem as it is not ...
Well bedwetting also known as nocturnal enuresis is not uncommon in childhood due to immaturity of full urinary bladder which fails to send signal to brain to awaken the child. Most cases have genetic predisposition (familial tendency). Invariably the condition remits once the child grows up. It is uncommon to persist in adolescent age group. What to do then? it is first desirable to rule out any structural or functional anamoly of urinary tract. Once ruled out then following measures help a lot. 1 toilet training: to hold urine during day time to strengthen/enhance bladder capacity 2 to void urine 2 hours prior to sleep 3 no water/liquid intake within 2 hours of sleep. 4 role of drugs like imipramine is limited. There is relapse once medicine is stopped 5 wet bed alarm bell has been found to be very effective as with single drop of urine passed during sleep shall alarm the bell and person shall go the toilet for completion voiding 6 I have found with mentat syrup very encouraging results. 7 the family support is required! 8 there is nothing to be disappointed. You shall overcome this problem slowly but surely

The sheet anchor in management of diarrhoea is ORS to treat and prevent dehydration Zinc supplementation And continued feeding. There is no scientific evidence of sporlac regarding its usefulness in management of diarrhoea. Best wishes.

My son is 7 years old and he is weak and thin. He doesn't eat food properly. please suggest a good nutrients and medicine.

MBBS, MD
Pediatrician, Gurgaon
seven years old children are supposed to eat by themselves in separate dish.they should sit besides their parents and eat by them selves.but nowadays with two children ,mothers prepare the dish asking the choice to their children.this is reason for poor appetite..junk market food is another reason for poor development.otherwise whatever older people eat is diet for seven year old.just add 300 ml milk a day.pulses and paneer, curd as source of protein. If you stick to what I have advised you will start getting results in two weeks time

My 5 year old daughter is not sleeping peacefully at night even when she is tired and skipped afternoon sleep. She often gets crankier and cries or asks for change in room after 2 hours. This pattern is continuing forever since her 3 years. She is tough to manage during the day as well where she is very strong willed for every small thing. I'm so stressed and worried where we end up beating her very often as we fail to control her. Is there any way this could be solved?

MD- Homoeopathy
Homeopath,
Stress: Yes, kids, just like adults can suffer from stress. So don't hesitate to show interest in your child's life and build trust so they feel comfortable sharing their worries with you. Ask how things are going at school. Is your child being bullied by someone? Is everything under your own roof running smoothly (ie, is there arguing, fighting between siblings, marital or financial problems; has there been a death in the family, a recent job change; has the family recently moved)? Children worry more than you might think and excess worry and stress can lead to insomnia. Use of caffeine or other stimulants: Remember even some clear sodas and most energy drinks have caffeine. Nicotine and alcohol interfere with sleep as well. Side effects of certain medications: For example, drugs used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, antidepressants, corticosteroids, and anticonvulsants can cause insomnia. Medical, psychiatric and other sleep disorders: Uncontrolled nighttime asthma, a stuffy nose from allergies or itchy skin from eczema can get in the way of good sleep. If these conditions are chronic, they may be easily ignored until they flare up. Other medical disorders, including fibromyalgia, muscle cramps, growing pains, heartburn, and thyroid disease can all cause insomnia. Be sure to have your child's physical health examined as a possible cause of insomnia. Sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea (associated with snoring) and restless legs syndrome may interfere with your child’s sleep. Neurodevelopmental disorders, such as autism, mental retardation, and Asperger's syndrome, can also be a cause of insomnia. Finally, psychiatric conditions like depression or bipolar disorder can be associated with poor sleep. Environmental factors: Noise, heat, cold, and light conditions in the bedroom can interfere with sleep. Make sure the bed and mattress are comfortable and the bedroom is organized to reduce environmental interference. This includes restrictions on the use of electronics in the bedroom.
