First you should follow low calories food for weight loss. * in morning, take 1-2 chapattis with a bowl of cooked green vegetables. You can take a glass of lemon water with it *in lunch you can take a bowl of raw vegetables like carrot, radish, tomatoes, turnip or beetroot. *in evening, you can take a cup of green tea only with some pieces of friuts like apple, pineapple, pear. Avoid taking banana or mango. *in dinner, you can take vegetable soup or a bowl of cooked vegetables. But do not take potato, sweet potatoes. * you can take a cup skimmed milk 4 times a week only during day time. * work out for atleast 1 hour in morning, you can try skipping for 15minutes with a walk of 30 minutes and 5-10 minutes running. Follow these exercises in the morning - * lie down on flat surface, raise your legs without bending your knees, do it for 3-5 times daily * do not eat fastfoods and soft drinks, as they have high calories and the calories deposit in body in the form of weight if not utilised. * you can take medohar guggalu 1 tablet daily for quick weight loss but only under the guidance of ayurveda expert.

I am 55 year old male having height of 181 cm and weighing 97 kg. I am suffering from sugar since last 7 years which is under control with regular intake of medicine. But recently since last 3 months I have gain weight a lot specially the belly portion and having regular muscular pain and joint pain. So please suggest me the remedy to reduce my weight and pain. You need to take high fiber low fat diet. Drink lot of water everyday. Take small and frequent meals at regular intervals of 2-3 hrs. Avoid outside food completely. Ask me privately for customized diet plan for you.

Mr. lybrate-user, There is nothing like perfect diet, because our food habits are totally indivudualised, hence diet recommendations also have to be specific to each individual. In India food habits differ widely, for example in north wheat flour, rajma, black dal, paneer and ghee intake is much higher. In Rajasthan, Gujrat food is much different. Bengal fish dominates the intake along with rice. In South Indian food rice varieties are plenty. In Central India habit is different. So there can not be a single perfect diet. It has to be based on your current habits, weight (ideal body weight), extent of exercise, need for weigh reduction and blood glucose levels. Thanks.

I will suggest you to do suryanamaskar daily as per your capacity for a minimum of six months and few tips on diet say no to maida items like toast, khaari ,naan ,white bread. Can drink tea but without sugar say no to Buffalo milk and can drink cows milk can eat brown bread can eat sprout's can eat green vegetables, can eat chappati ,bajra ka rotla can eat one katori of rice twice a day with dal to avoid farsan food items can eat fruits say no to coconut water.

Gynecomastia - What You Should Know About It!

Due to hormonal imbalance, it is possible for boys during puberty or adolescence to develop breast tissue. This tissue may not be similar to those of females, but still considerable enough to cause embarrassment. A more serious issue is when this also causes pain and swelling. While it disappears on its own in most people, in some cases it may persist in some and may require surgical correction.

Why does it happen? Male features are due to a hormone called testosterone, and female features are due to estrogen. While both hormones are produced in both sexes, the predominance is of testosterone in males and estrogen in females. Gynecomastia happens when either there is a reduced production of testosterone or higher production of estrogen.

This surge of hormone production happens during infancy, puberty, and during old age.

Other common reasons are:

  • Drugs (anti androgens, anabolic steroids, AIDS medications, cancer treatment, heart medications, etc.)
  • Street drugs like marijuana, amphetamines
  • Alcohol abuse
  • Hypogonadism in men
  • Ageing men, who are also overweight
  • Kidney failure
  • Liver failure

What to do? Most males go through some amount of breast tissue expansion during their growing years. This often disappears as they cross the teenage years. However, it may continue to grow and requires attention in the following cases:

  • Grows considerably and is painful
  • Is a cosmetic concern

The doctor can review and advise if any changes are required to rectify the situation. In very rare cases, if the condition does not improve, surgical correction may be advised.

Prevention: Given that there are obvious causes, this condition can be prevented by avoiding medications which can cause it. Avoiding street drugs, alcohol, and adopting a healthy lifestyle are also options to prevent gynecomastia.

Diagnosis: Blood tests and hormone levels need to be checked to confirm the diagnosis. Mammograms are also required to identify the pattern and to rule out breast cancer, fatty breast tissue, and localized breast infections.

Management: Treatment would depend on identifying the root cause.

  • If there are medications that are inducing this, switch to alternate meds.
  • If there is an underlying condition such as malnutrition or liver failure, that needs to be addressed.
  • Quit or reduce the consumption of alcohol and/or street drugs if they are the reason
  • Meds for breast cancer are known to reduce gynecomastia, though not in all men
  • Liposuction is an option, where the breast fat tissue is removed. This may need to be repeated if the fat grows again.
  • Mastectomy: As a definitive procedure, the entire breast tissue can be removed.

In addition to the treatment and management options listed above, given the embarrassing nature of this condition, strong moral and social support is required.

Hye, wajan kam hona poshtikta ki kami ka asar hota hai. Aap theek see waqt waqt pe khaye. Ek waqt pe poshtik khana khaye. Thoda thoda samay samay pe khana le. Din mein 6 se 7 baar acche se pet bhar khaye. Bahar ki khane ki cheze kam le. Inse sirf charbi badhegi maas nahi. Khane mein fal sabji ghee dal dahi roti chawal doodh shengdaana khajoor lassi batata le. Chai coffee soda kam le, isse poshtikta nahi milti balke pet jaldi bhar jaata hai. Sahi samay pe sahi matra mein khaoge tho wajan acche se badhega. Wyayam hafte mein 3 din zaroor kare. Wyaayam se maas aur wajan badhega aur bhook bhi lagegi. Sirf 2 ya 3 baar khane se kamjori hogi. Meetha khaana ho tho ghar pe banaaya kheer sheera lassi basundi le. Sirf dawa ya protein powder ya tonic lene se wajan nahi badhega. Uske liye acche se khaana aur wyaayam bahut zaroori hai. Nahi tho powder ka bhi asar nahi hota. Apne aap ko waqt de, wajan badhne mein waqt lag sakta hai.

From last 4 months I am having a few symptoms of Vitamin B12 deficiency. Doctor advised me to get blood test done for b12 and vitamin D. It came out to be 194 pg/mL for B12 and less than 3 ng/mL for vit D. I am facing following symptoms from last four months High and hard palpitations weakness and tiredness all the time feeling sleepy and resting all the day lack of concentration double vision lack of interest in anything weak sense of smell weak memory I have been suggested nurokind OD for B12 and D3 fast for Vit D by my doctor. But I do not see any yet in last two months. please let me know that are these symptoms treatable and what is the stage of my problem.

Take at least 30 mins of sun exposure without fail between 11 - 2 pm wearing shorts and half sleeve shirt. It make take a few months for Vit D to normalise, but don't discontinue. Take 1 bowl of curd in the afternoon everyday for B 12 in addition to meds.
