Vaccines are organisms to fight various kinds of diseases but body usually treat these organisms as foreign bodies. The body fight off the strain of organisms injected through vaccines to give signs in the form of rise in temperature. When the individual is attacked by organisms, the body fights them back to save life of child. High temperature kills bacteria and viruses which thrive in the body at normal temperature. Rise in temperature help the body to produce more white blood cells, antibodies and other infection-fighting agents for infants’ protection. In fact, fever is beneficial in infants after vaccination.Dont wory it will subside automatically in a day or two.

Insulin Like Supplementary Drugs for Hyperglycemia

Homeopath,
Insulin Like Supplementary Drugs for Hyperglycemia

Insulin like supplementary drugs for hyperglycemia
Pramlintide (symlin) is a new type of injectable drug that can help control postprandial hyperglycemia, the sudden increase in blood sugar after a meal. Pramlintide is injected before meals and can help lower blood sugar levels in the 3 hours after meals. Pramlintide is used in addition to insulin for patients who take insulin regularly but still need better blood sugar control. The fda approved this drug in 2005 for adults with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Pramlintide and insulin are the only two drugs approved for treatment of type 1 diabetes.

Pramlintide is a synthetic form of amylin, a hormone that is related to insulin. Side effects may include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headache, fatigue, and dizziness. Patients with type 1 diabetes have an increased risk of severe low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) that may occur within 3 hours following a pramlintide injection. This drug should not be used if patients have trouble knowing when their blood sugar is low or have slow stomach emptying (gastroparesis).

Hi. If it's 9 kg. Please do not worry. It's a good weight. Child being thin does not mean ,baby is not healthy. Healthy baby can be thin, but should be active. He is already on a good diet. You can start on egg yolk, add ghee to his diet.

Care for New Born Baby

MD - Paediatrics, MBBS
Pediatrician, Faridabad
Play video

Me Dr Sanjeev Kumar hoon, in Faridabad. Aaj hum baat karenge care of a new born baby.

Ek navjaat shishu kya hota hai?

Ek navjaat shishu wo hota hai jo Pehle 28 dino ka baccha hota hai, use hum navjaat bolte hai.

Navjaat baccho ko hum special kyu kehte hai?

Wo baby ki tendency hoti hai bohot jaldi infection hone ki, bohot jaldi shareer thanda padne ki, aur bohot jaldi unki jaan ko khatra bhi hojata hai.

Jab baccha paida hota hai to sabse pehle bacche ko maa ka doodh pilana chaie. Jab maa apne bacche ko seene se lagati hai tab maa ko is baat ka idea hojata hai ki baccha doodh theek se pee raha hai ya nahi pee raha hai. Aur isi se andaaza lagaya ja sakta hai ki mera baccha theek hai ya nahi hai.

Agar baccha maa ka doodh acche se pee raha hai aur ek bar doodth peene ke baad 2-3 ghante sota hai, 6-7 baar susu karta hai, aur agar bacche ka wazan theek se badh raha hai to iska matlab baccha bilkul theek hai. Aur bacche ki awaaz buland hai jab wo rota hai, iska matlab baccha theek hai.

Lekin agar baccha lazy hai, chidchida pan hai, doodth kam pee raha hai, tatti me khoon araha hai, neela ya peela pad raha hai, safed pad raha hai, iske liye doctor ke paas jana zaruri hai.

Jab maa bacche ko doodh pilati hai, kahi baar maa ko lagta ki mera doodh he nahi aarha hai, ya mere bacche ka pet he nahi bhar raha hai. abse important hai ki agar baccha 6-7 baar aur baccha ek baar doodh peene ke baad 2-3 ghante soe aur uthne ke baad agar baccha buland awaaz me ro raha hai, iska matlab baccha theek hai. Aur agar maa ko lag raha hai ki baccha pet bhar ke doodh nahi pee pa raha hai, tab wo ek kaam kar sakti hai ki jab doodh pilaya aur doodh pilane ke baad agar baccha sota nahi hai, sika matlab hai ki bacche ka pet bhara nahi hai. Iske liye sabse important hai ki maa ko khush rehna hai. Isme husbands ka role bohot important hai, jo ghar ka environment hai wo ekdam theek rehna chaie. Aur maa jab apne bacche ko godd me leti hai to use bhagwan ko thank you bolna chaie  ki," thank you bhagwan, tumne mujhe baby diya hai, mujhe doodh bhi dena". Jab maa aisa sochti hai, tab doodh badhta hai. Doodh maa ke stan se nahi brain se paida hota hai.

Agar maa acche se khae aur zada amount me paani peeye, to bacche ke liye doodh aram se ata rahega. Lekin agar fir bhi maa ko lagta hai ki doodh kam ban raha hai, to uske liye ek baar bacche ko doodh seene se laga ke pila de aur fir bhi doodh kam pade to chammach- katori se doodh pilade. Isse dheere dheere maa me doodh badhta jaega aur ooper ke doodh ki requirement bhi kam hojaegi. Bacche ka pet bharne lgega aur baccha fit bhi rahega.

Chote babies ke sath risk hota hai, thanda padne ka. Chote babies Kabhi-Kabhi 40 Degrees temperature me bhi thande pad jate hai. To iske liye sabse zada important hai ki bacche ko head se toe tak cover karke rakhna chaie. Topi zarur pehnani chaie.

Ek maa apne bacche ko touch karke he bata sakti hai ki bacche ko thand lag rahi hai ya nahi lag rahi hai. Agar maa ne bacche ko hath lagaya aur fir apne pet ko hath lagaya, agar dono garam hai, iska matlab baccha ekdam theek hai. Agar hath thanda hai, aur pet garam hai to matlab bacche ko thand lag rahi hai. Aur agar dono thande hai, to baccha serious hai.

Aaj kal sabke ghar me sari facilities hai, air conditioner hai, to aise me bacche ko garam rakhne ka sabse accha tareeka hai ki maa apne bacche ko seene se lgale aur baar baar doodh pilana. Maa ke doodh pilane se, maa ko bohot faede hote hai, jese ki maa ko cancer se bachaav hota hai, ovarian cancer, breast cancer, aur maa emotionally khush rehti hai.

Agar aap is vishay me kuch aur janna chahte hai to aap Lybrate ki website pe jaa kar, login in karke contact kar sakte hai.

I am 33 years. I have given birth to a girl baby on december 30th with normal delivery. Still i am not able to feed my daughter with breast milk. I have tried all the steps to increase molk supply but not able to produce milk. Could anyone help me with this?

MBBS, Diploma in Child Health (DCH), Pediatric Gastroenterology
Pediatrician, Delhi
Young Mothers always think that their milk is not sufficient. Don't be disheartened. The more you feed , the better will be the supply of breast milk. Drink a lot of water, eat nourishing food and continue taking iron and calcium supplements. If the baby is passing urine frequently and stool normally and gaing weight nicely, you can be sure that you are producing enough milk.

Children never starve themselves unlike adults, she may be eating lot of junk foods- biscuits and juices and chips etc that she is not eating what you want her to eat. Cut down on all the junk/ intermittent snacks and see that she eats when its family time to eat.

Iron Deficiency In Children

MBBS, MD - Paediatrics
Pediatrician, Varanasi
Iron Deficiency In Children

Iron is an essential nutrient and mineral that is required by adults and children alike. Iron helps move oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body and helps muscles store and use oxygen. It is especially important for children because it aids development and prevents anaemia. Untreated iron deficiency in children can cause physical and mental delays. It can lead to less healthy red blood cells in the child's blood stream which will cause a delay in the growth of physical and mental faculties.

Risk factors for iron deficiency in children

Infants and children at highest risk of iron deficiency include:

  1. Babies who are born prematurely or have a low birth weight
  2. Babies who drink cow's milk before age 1
  3. Breast-fed babies who aren't given complementary foods containing iron after age 6 months
  4. Babies who drink formula that isn't fortified with iron
  5. Children ages 1 to 5 who drink more than 24 ounces (710 milliliters) of cow's milk, goat's milk or soy milk a day
  6. Children who have certain health conditions, such as chronic infections or restricted diets
  7. Children ages 1 to 5 who have been exposed to lead
  8. Adolescent girls also are at higher risk of iron deficiency because their bodies lose iron during menstruation.

Symptoms of iron deficiency anaemia

The signs and symptoms of iron deficiency anaemia in children may include:

  1. Pale skin
  2. Fatigue or weakness
  3. Slow cognitive and social development
  4. Inflammation of the tongue
  5. Difficulty maintaining body temperature
  6. Increased likelihood of infections
  7. Unusual cravings for non-nutritive substances, such as ice, dirt or pure starch

Prevent iron deficiency in children

Take steps to prevent iron deficiency in your child by paying attention to his or her diet. For example:

  1. Breast-feed or use iron-fortified formula. Breast-feeding until your child is age 1 is recommended. If you don't breast-feed, use iron-fortified infant formula.
  2. Encourage a balanced diet. When you begin serving your baby solids, typically between ages 4 months and 6 months, feed him or her foods with added iron, such as iron-fortified baby cereal. For older children, good sources of iron include red meat, chicken, fish, beans and dark green leafy vegetables. Between ages 1 and 5, don't allow your child to drink more than 24 ounces (710 milliliters) of milk a day.
  3. Enhance absorption. Vitamin C helps promote the absorption of dietary iron. You can help your child absorb iron by offering foods rich in vitamin C, such as melon, strawberries, kiwi, broccoli, tomatoes and potatoes.
  4. Consider iron supplements. If your baby was born prematurely or with a low birth weight or you're breast-feeding a baby older than 4 months and he or she isn't eating two or more servings a day of iron-rich foods, talk to a child's doctor about oral iron supplements.

Make sure that you watch out for the tell tale signs of iron deficiency and take the necessary precautions to avoid the same. If you wish to discuss about any specific child related problem, you can consult a specilized pediatrician and ask a free question.
