Foods That Are Ruining Your Perfect Smile

Everybody desires to possess a beautiful smile but poor lifestyle and dietary habits tend to damage the natural white hue of your teeth and add a yellowish tinge to it. Yellowish and dull teeth are among the major factors that cause embarrassment and affect the quality of your beautiful smile.

The following are some foods that tend to damage your teeth:

1. Potato chips- potato chips are high in starch content and have the tendency to get stuck in your teeth. Floss thoroughly after eating potato chips to ensure effective removal of the food particles that get stuck in your teeth to lessen the risk of plaque build-up in it.

2. Sticky food- food which is sticky in nature often has the tendency to stick on to your teeth for longer than most other foods. Most dried fruits also fall under the category of sticky foods that can damage your teeth to a great extent. Rinse and floss on a regular basis after eating these foods to ensure protection of your teeth against damage.

3. Wine- according to studies, wine has positive effect on your health when consumed moderately; however, it is also responsible for damaging your oral health. If you intake a glass of wine at night on a regular basis, it increases the risk of damaging your tooth enamel and leads to its discoloration. Wine can also affect the calcium content of your teeth, cause bad breath and may result in the imbalance of your mouth's ph level. It is advisable to drink small sips of wine without swishing it for a long time.

4. Coffee and black tea- black tea and caffeinated coffee tend to dry your mouth. Frequent consumption of tea and coffee tend to stain your teeth and it is responsible for the discoloration of your teeth. Make it a point to drink plenty of water to minimize the risk of teeth staining.

5. Carbonated drinks- most carbonated drinks, including diet soda and soft drinks are acidic in composition and therefore, harmful for the health of your teeth. Caffeinated beverages tend to dry out the mouth, therefore, ensure to drink adequate water to balance out the negative impact of the caffeine.

6. Sports drinks- most energy drinks and sports drinks are high in sugar content and thus, have the tendency to damage your oral hygiene; ultimately affecting the appearance of your teeth. Replace your sports drinks with fresh natural juice to lessen the risk of teeth damage.

Skin color of the baby is similar to parents skin. So if that's the case then please don't try to change nature. If both parents are fair and only son is dark then that needs evaluation for endocrine reasons.

I am, a mother of 3 and a half months old baby girl. I am concerned about my lactation as my baby's pediatrician has told me that my baby is having a slow weight gain respective of her age, she weighs 5.5 kgs. My question is that is there really anything to worry about her weight? Is my baby not getting sufficient breast milk? I am confused whether I am producing enough breast milk or not? It will be very kind of you, if you could help me out.

My son is 2 yrs old . He is having my feed till now . Now i want him to feed not any more bt my breast are full of milk and if i dont feed him i feel sever pain in my breasts . Wt should i do ?

You should stop breastfeeding him and put him on cows milk along with regular diet for age . You will continue to produce breast milk since you have been breast feeding him , hence the pain if you dont express the milk . You can take bromocriptine 2.5mg twice daily for 15 days to suppress milk production . You may take paracetamol 1 tab if pain is severe and also apply hot fomentation to breast . However , bromocriptine causes nausea , so you may need to take some anti acids like Pan 40. 1 tab for 10 days to counter that.

Hi, in the first few weeks, you may notice that your baby's genitals are swollen and red, or that she has a clear, white, or slightly bloody discharge from her vagina. This is normal. It happens because she was exposed to your hormones when she was in your womb (uterus). If you want, you can consult a paediatrician to know more about it.

Your baby has some nasl block leading to mouth breathing & difficulty in breast feeding as she has to breath by mouth while feeding. Put saline nasal drops in both nostrils & remove thick nasal secretions by bud. Exclusively breast feed her in upright position followed by meticulous burping after every feed. May require 8-10 drops before feed if vomitings/regurgitation of milk is frequent.

Can we give cerelac for 3 months baby?

Can we give cerelac for 3 months baby?
No, all weaning foods are to be introduced strictly only after the age of at least 4 months completed. Cerelac and such ready made cereal preparations carry a label which says that they should be given to the baby only after 6 months of age. So, you cannot give cerelac to a baby who is three months, as the baby cannot digest the same. Give only milk till 4 months, and then, if you want, you can give some home prepared weaning foods. Preferably, wait till 6 months before you wean the baby.
