General Prevention: 1.Take healthy food and avoid unhealthy ones as what you eat is reflected on your face! 2.Avoid Junk Food, Oily & Spicy food, excessive coffee/tea. Take Leafy Vegetables, seasonal Fruits and healthy diet. 3.Avoid taking unnecessary Stress/ Tension as it encourages secretion of stress hormone in the body as thus affects skin. 4.Do meditation & deep breathing for 10-15 minutes daily 1-2 times. 5.To get rid of toxins, drink 8-¬10 glasses of water daily. 6.Take 6-¬8 hrs of sound sleep everyday. 7.Never rub your face as it may damages the skin 8.Wash your face with water at least 3-4 times a day and must at bedtime. 9.Use Herbal Face wash, Facial creams & cosmetics. I have dandruff problem, specially during winters. What precautions must be taken?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Getting Rid of Dry Scalp Step 1 Use less shampoo. If you use too much shampoo, you increase the chances that residue will be left behind .Failure to thoroughly rinse out Shampoo of the hair causes scalp irritation and flakiness. Step 2 Exfoliate your scalp. Getting rid of dry, dead skin cells is just as good for your dry scalp as it is for your face. Mix a tablespoon or two of sugar with your shampoo and gently work it into your scalp with the pads of your fingers. Avoid using your fingernails when lathering up, which can cause nicks or cuts. Step 3 Avoid extremely hot water. Hot water can dry out the skin and aggravate a dry, flaky scalp. The same is true for heat styling products such as a blow-dryer. Excessive heat can cause the scalp to become irritated and dry. Step 4 Give yourself a scalp massage. A scalp massage causes blood to flow to the scalp, and helps clear any blocked pores that may be interfering with sebum production. Sebum is the oil produced in the sebaceous glands of the scalp. Massaging the scalp also loosens excess dead skin and dandruff, making it easier to wash away. Give yourself a scalp massage before or during your shampoo, or even when you're relaxing in front of the TV. Putting olive oil on your fingertips before the massage gives your scalp added benefits. After the massage, continue with an olive oil treatment. Step 5 Apply an olive oil treatment to the scalp. Dip your fingers into olive oil. Apply the oil to your scalp, using gentle circular motions. Cover the entire scalp, but not the length of the hair. Once the scalp is covered with oil, cover the head with plastic wrap or a shower cap. Cover the plastic wrap with a warm towel, and leave on for 45 minutes. Rinse well with lukewarm water, then shampoo as usual. If you condition your hair after the shampoo, do not apply conditioner to the scalp. Instead, apply conditioner starting 1 inch from the scalp and down to the ends. Things You'll Need • Sugar • Olive oil • Bowl • Plastic wrap or plastic shower cap • Towel • Anti Dandruff Shampoo ( Wilmar Schwabe india) • HAIR CONDITIONER ( BAKSON) NOTE –Please go for ANTI DANRUFF OIL TREATMENT and OLIVE OIL TREATMENT once each in a week. Apple cider vinegar is anti-inflammatory in nature and is also great for restoring the pH balance of the scalp, which is another reason for using this as an excellent treatment for dry, flaky scalp. Take apple cider vinegar and dilute it with some water. This has to be applied on the scalp and left on for half an hour. • With constant application, apple cider vinegar will remove the pH imbalance in the scalp and also the dead and accumulated cells as well. This will also aid in better hair growth and prevent hair fall due to dry scalp. Apple cider vinegar also makes your hair shiny and smooth. Apple cider vinegar can also be applied without dilution if your skin is not over sensitive.

If you are refering to moles in your questions than don't worry moles can emerge at any age in the body. Moles are common skin growths that result from a natural process in the skin. Melanin is the natural pigment that gives skin, hair and the irises of the eyes their color. In the skin, melanin is produced in cells called melanocytes located in the two upper layers of the skin. Melanocytes tend to be spread evenly throughout the skin, giving the skin its natural color. When exposed to the sun, melanocytes produce more melanin, darkening the skin with a suntan. When melanocytes don't distribute evenly and instead grow in clusters, moles form.

Dear lybrate user, pimples/ acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory skin disease which develops due to blocking of the hair follicles in skin. These blockages occur due to 4 abnormal processes: 1) excess sebum production due to androgens 2) excessive deposition of the protein keratin leading to comedone formation 3) infection of propionibacterium acnes (p. Acnes) bacteria on the hair follicles 4) local release of pro-inflammatory chemicals in the skin. In order to stop the formation of pimples the aforesaid four causes should be terminated. Now the bitter truth is neither can you stop the overproduction of androgen or keratin protein nor can you stop the release of pro-inflammatory chemicals because all these processes takes place internally in your skin. However you can stop the accumulation of p. Acnes bacteria on your skin by preventing your skin from getting oily. Always keep a handkerchief with you whenever you go outside. You should wipe off the slightest amount of sweat from your face as soon as you perspire on entering your room from outside wash your face with an oil-free, non-moisturizing face wash. Take a low carbohydrate diet. Do some exercise daily. Drink a lots of water to avoid constipation. Avoid pricking the pimples or popping the sebum as it may lead to black pigmentation & permanent scar formation. You can also take homoeopathic calcarea phos 200, 5 drops, thrice daily, in empty stomach also you can apply homoeopathic mother tincture berberis aquifolium q on the dark spots on your skin which are produced after the resolution of the pimples.

worried of Psoriasis, Leucoderma like chronic Skin problems

Doctor of Homeopathic Medicine (H.M.D.)
Homeopath, Belgaum
worried of Psoriasis, Leucoderma like chronic Skin problems
Research has shown that cells which heal the skin following an injury play an important role in the development of the skin disease psoriasis. In people with psoriasis, the skin peels much faster than normal so that it flakes and becomes inflamed. The scientist investigated the transit amplifying cells in the uppermost layer of the skin. These cells develop from stem cells and specialize into skin cells when new skin cells are needed. The transit amplifying cells are involved in the healing of the skin following an injury and in the regular renewing of the skin.

Normally these cells wait until they receive a signal to develop into skin cells. Scientists discovered that in people with psoriasis, some of the transit amplifying cells divide without waiting for a signal. As a result of this, too many skin cells develop and the skin is renewed more quickly than normal.

Psoriasis is a skin problem that occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks its own system. It is also called the auto immune disorder. The auto immune systems mistake your skin cells as. In the case of psoriasis, not only is there a more rapid renewal of the skin, but the number of cell layers on the surface also increases. The skin condition causes red marks that are rich in blood and often inflamed. These red marks are covered with shiny white flakes of skin and sometimes itch.

Scalp psoriasis could be especially embarrassing because of its visibility. Not like psoriasis on other elements of your body, this sort of psoriasis is difficult to cover up. It might spread for the surrounding areas in the neck, forehead, and ears. Its not at all only uncomfortable and itchy, but it could be a supply of anxiety for psoriasis sufferers at the same time. Psoriasis appears as raised, red patches or lesions covered with dead skin cells on the skin. Scalp psoriasis can be mild, with fine scaling or thick with crusted plaques, covering the entire scalp. The areas of the skin grow very rapidly and form red, scaling patches. Patients experience severe itchiness, a feeling of tightness and soreness, accompanied by hair loss. Scalp psoriasis is a common form of psoriasis.

These spots may be very small at first and are often confused with dandruff. However, unlike dandruff, these spots will have a silver tint. In the absence of treatment, this disease advances, spots and sores enlarge and can impede the growth of new hair or they may even become dormant until triggered again. In extreme cases can cause permanent loss or thinning in affected areas.
Why do I have Psoriasis?
While science hasn’t been able to pinpoint the exact cause as yet, a significant genetic predisposition has been seen (which means if any of your close relatives suffer from any autoimmune disease, not particularly Psoriasis), it might have been passed on to you via the genes. It is an autoimmune disease where the defense cells of the body start attacking their own skin cells by mistake. The skin cells when attacked, respond to it by starting to multiply abnormally leading to thickened skin and shedding of scales. This causes raw, red, peeling areas on the skin.

Homeopathy has been known to help. A study published in the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, a conventional medical Journal, showed that psoriasis patients experienced significant improvement in their quality of life and reduction in their psoriasis symptoms with Homeopathy. And this was without any kind of side-effects whatsoever. Of the 82 patients involved in the study that went on for 2 years, many had suffered psoriasis for as long as 15 years and had previously unsuccessfully tried conventional treatments.

How can Homeopathy help me with my Psoriasis?”
In Psoriasis, our immunity needs to be strengthened from within and should be able to identify all our body cells as its own. Homeopathy assesses the individual as a whole and does not only treat symptoms. The environment, the person’s temperament and the presenting symptoms are all considered before prescribing the ‘remedy’ to the patient. Thus, no two people with psoriasis might have the exact same remedy. Homeopathy works on the principle ‘Like treats like’. Very small, infinitesimal dose of the substance which causes symptoms similar to the disease is diluted and packed into the sugar pills. With these doses, the body’s immunity recognizes its skin cells as it own, thus reducing the severity of the condition.

What Is Psoriatic Arthritis?
Psoriatic arthritis is a type of chronic inflammatory arthritis associated with the chronic skin condition psoriasis, which is believed to be an inherited condition. Psoriasis, which affects about 2 percent of the population, most often causes patches of thick, reddened, irritated skin with flaky, silver-white patches called scales. Psoriatic arthritis typically appears about 10 years after the onset of psoriasis, which can manifest at any age, though most people are diagnosed between the ages of 15 and 35. The main symptoms of psoriatic arthritis are painful, swollen joints, tenderness where muscles or ligaments attach to bones, particularly the heel and bottom of the foot, back pain, nail changes such as separating from the nail bed, or becoming pitted or infected-looking, morning stiffness, general fatigue, reduced range of motion
What are the effects?
Psoriatic arthritis is an autoimmune disease that for unknown reasons causes the body’s own immune system to turn against itself. Inflammation can occur causing the synovium tissue that lines the joint capsule and produces synovial fluid, which lubricates the joint and keeps it moving smoothly—to thicken resulting in a swollen joint. Over time, the synovium invades the cartilage, elastic tissue that covers the ends of the bones in a joint. The cartilage in turn erodes, causing bones to rub together. As the joint weakens, so do its the surrounding structures, such as muscles, ligaments and tendons. Because this joint damage can occur early in the disease process, diagnosing psoriatic arthritis as quickly as possible and treating it properly are important.

Here are many foods and beverages that get mentioned often by people as possibly causing their psoriasis aggravation. Some of the major food triggers as

Alcohol
“First and foremost, stop drinking,” Alcohol opens the blood vessels in the skin. When your blood vessels are dilated, white blood cells, including the T cells that are believed to be responsible for psoriasis, can sneak into the outer layers of your skin more easily and you don’t need to be inviting more T cells. “Your psoriasis symptoms may worsen even if you’re a light-to-moderate alcohol user,”

Junk foods
Psoriasis is an inflammatory condition. Junk foods tend to be high in saturated and trans fats and refined starches and sugars, all of which can promote inflammation. Another reason to avoid junk foods is that that they are high in calories with little nutritional value, and people with psoriasis often have weight problems. “If you have psoriasis, you have an increased risk of heart and vascular diseases,”

Red meat
Red meats contain a polyunsaturated fat called arachidonic acid. “This type of fat can worsen psoriasis symptoms because it can easily be converted into inflammatory compounds,”

Dairy products
Like red meat, dairy products contain the natural inflammatory arachidonic acid. “Cow’s milk is one of the biggest culprits because it also contains the protein casein, which has been linked to inflammation. Egg yolks, too, are high in arachidonic acid, so consider nixing them from your diet. Dietary changes: Follow an anti-inflammatory diet, making sure to get plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, particularly those rich in carotenoids (mangoes, corn, sweet potatoes, carrots and squash, as well as leafy greens and tomatoes).

Exercise: Regular physical activity may help.

Few important remedies for the homoeopathic treatment of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis are.. should be taken under strict medical supervision

My face is so oily and I want oil free skin and glow on my face so what can I do for it.
Hi. There are four main factors which causes acne: Oil production Dead skin cells Clogged pores Bacteria Factors that may worsen the acne: Androgen hormones, certain medications (drugs containing corticosteroids, androgens or lithium can worsen acne), dietary factors, including dairy products and carbohydrate-rich foods — such as bread, bagels and chips — may trigger acne and Stress can make acne worse. Management: Wash your face with Bakson's Facewash (wash your face with warm water only) and followed by CTMP, i.e., cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally Sunscreen Gel with SPF-30) after washing your face daily. Home-made remedies: - Take 1 tbsp of fuller's earth (multani mitti) + a dash of lime + bit of rosewater – apply this on your face till it gets dried up, then rinse it off. - Take 1 tsp of Alum (or fitkari), make it slightly wet with water and apply this on your wet face, spread it well; let it dry and rinse it off. Alum remove your excessive moisture or oil and it also tightens the skin's tonicity. Medication: You can take homoeopathic medicines – Berberis Aquefolium Q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice a day (and for local application as well) and Kali Brom. 200/ thrice a day – for 20 days. Use Bakson's Apricot scrub at least once a week.
