What could I have that is causing pain in my abdomen and lower back when taking a deep breath?

What could I have that is causing pain in my abdomen and lower back when taking a deep breath?
Back exercises. Many people go to physiotherapists with back pain. Here are two exercises that help to relieve pain and reduce stiffness in the back: •Dear, 1. Lie on your back with both of your legs straight. In this position, bring your left knee up close to your chest. Hold this position for 10 seconds. Return your leg to the straight position. Repeat with the right leg. •2. Stand up with your arms on your side. Bend to the left side while slowly sliding your left hand down your left leg. Come back up slowly and relax. Repeat with the right side of your body.

Take rest. Warm compress can help reduce the pain. Pain reliving gels and ointments can be used also. If the pain persists please consult an orthopedic surgeon for medicines. I would recommend that you lose some weight.

Hi sir, i am suffering from cervical pain from last 2 years, now there is a lots pain in my whole body, arm, back, leg, please tell me, what should I do?

Dip. SICOT (Belgium), MNAMS, DNB (Orthopedics), MBBS

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to have a persistent neck pain as a health issue. If you have localized neck pain with no other symptoms like radiating upper limb pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your neck while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. We will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like dynamic x rays of your neck region. Also since you have complained of pain at other regions of the body as well, I will advise you to get some blood tests done empty stomach from a good lab and send reports across to me: cbc, esr, crp, serum electrolytes, serum vitamin b12 and d levels and thyroid profile. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Thanks & regards

Any kind of sudden joint pain is not normal and should be thoroughly investigated. You may be having crystal induced arthritis which is a common reason for this type of pain. However other types of arthritis can present with similar pain. You can contact me through private chat so that I can give you appropriate medicines.

Why should there is an pain occurs in an back side of our body when we sitting from hours of working at an place such as colleges and industry.

Doctor Of Physical Therapy (DPT), Bachelor of Physical Therapy
Physiotherapist, Bangalore
Why should there is an pain occurs in an back side of our body when we sitting from hours of working at an place such...
Sitting is the position where all the load of your upper body falls on the lower back and poor stooped posture makes the load much more than your weight due to gravity acting as added force. Prolonged sitting fatigues your postural muscles and they start hurting. Also too much force on discs makes them degenerate and cause pain. A detailed exercise program prescribed by an orthopaedic physiotherapist can help strengthen back and reduce pain.

Easy Ways to Deal With Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Easy Ways to Deal With Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a painful one that is born from a strain on the median nerve, which loops through the wrist bone to connect it with the rest of the hand and fingers so as to promote motion. This condition can be a painful and debilitating one that usually starts at night, and affects the various fingers, especially the thumb and index finger. The symptoms include numbness, a tingling sensation, a weak grip, and the inability to do many tasks that involve the thumb and index finger. There are many ways of treating this condition with the help of physiotherapy, steroids and corticosteroids. There are easier ways of dealing with this issue on an everyday basis, as follows.

  1. Wrist Splint: It is a good idea to wear a wrist splint at night which will keep the bones and muscles stationary as the pain in this condition usually starts at night. This will also prevent further damage to the median nerve.
  2. Activity: Keep your activity to a minimum to give your hand and rest, in particular, some much needed rest from the pain, numbness and tingling. Further, you need to avoid activities that cause too much pain and numbness. Also, take care to keep your thumb and wrist straight during other activities so that there is less strain on the median nerve.
  3. Strength and Flexibility: Many times, the pain from the wrist and fingers can spread towards the arm as well. In order to prevent this and to treat the pain on a more long term basis, it is important to turn to some mild exercise which can make the area more flexible and strong. This can include wrist twists which can be done ten times for each hand. One can also try Yoga to strengthen the joints in the upper body.
  4. Ice Pack: Use an ice pack or ice compress on your wrist for ten to fifteen minutes each every few hours to help in relieving unbearable pain.
  5. Anti-Inflammatory Medication: Patients suffering from this condition can also turn to non steroid medication that will help in bringing down the inflammation. This inflammation is usually responsible to a great extent for symptoms like numbness and pain which can halt various activities. These drugs may include aspirin, ibuprofen, and even naproxen sodium.
  6. Taking Breaks: One must take regular breaks at work and flex the fingers and the wrist so that the painful bending posture does not make matters worse.

Ensuring that you manage your everyday functioning despite Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a matter of balancing your activities with rest.

Is donating bone marrow risky? Is this cause any side effect to health in future? Nd what is the process of donating bone marrow nd anybody can donate?

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
The risks of this type of stem cell donation are minimal. Before the donation, you'll get injections of a medicine that increases the number of stem cells in your blood. This medicine can cause side effects, such as bone pain, muscle aches, headache, fatigue, nausea and vomiting.
