Why is fluoride used in toothpastes? Does diet make much difference to the child's teeth?

Why is fluoride used in toothpastes?
Does diet make much difference to the child's teeth?
Flouride prevents our teeth to become carious. But its use is in limited amount. Yes diet make differences in teeth . If you take more sticky food or sweet it starts carious condition. If you take more citrous (sour) food it will also lead to enamel loss.

hello, mouthwashes are just like perfumes. you can use it after eating pungent food, but you will feel fresh and healthy only for sometime. It cannot be used to substitute for toothbrush because it does not help in removing cavities. toothbrush is the best and the only option.

My teeth is in yellow color

Now even though we know that we are born with pearly whites , y are our teeth yellowish. This is 1) Decidous or primary teeth or milk teeth are as suggest milky white in Color. 2) however our permanent or secondary teeth are not exactly milky white . They are in shades of yellow, grey , even red/ brown varying on genetics, the race, the continent or which part of the world you come from, the climate and environment etc. Second comes into play the oral hygiene, the dietary factors, the water used, any medications being taken .Etc which are not natural causes but man made .These could also affect the shade of the teeth. Yes the treatment would involve consulting me for routine oral prophylaxis , and maybe bleaching go teeth .

Although excessive saliva is not too common, there are a number of conditions that can cause it - some harmless, others more serious. It is possible that your saliva problems are just a result of the way you speak. Some people speak faster or slower than others, just as some people blink more often, breathe faster, or have a more rapid heartbeat. This may just be what's normal for you. Since it is negatively affecting your life, I suggest your problem can be ignored. However there are medical conditions that causes excessive salivation injection glycopyrrolate reduces secretions in the mouth, throat, airway, and stomach.

Everyone doesn't have pearl white teeth. The shade of your teeth matches your skin colour. Still you can go for scaling and polishing. For more whiteness, go for bleaching.

I have so much pain in my teeth when I drink anything cold. Suggest me what I have to do.
It can be either due to decay or sensitivity. Get your teeth x-rayed to determine the cause of pain. Decay can be removed n cavity can be filled with cement with or without rct depending on the proximity of decay to the nerve endings. For sensitivity, use desensitizing toothpaste like sensodyne twice daily.

I undergone rct in 2008 now crown is out, what are implications for not fixing another crown?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Fellow of Academy of General Education (FAGE), BDS

If you don't get a crown fixed then there are very high chances that the tooth will break. This is because a tooth becomes brittle after getting RCT done.

All individuals requires scaling (cleaning) to be done atleast once in 6 months to maintain our oral hygiene clean. Our toothbrush is not much finely designed to clean all the plaque and calculi in the interdental areas of the teeth, which is the area where most of the calculus accumulate much and has to be removed regularly using scalers by the dentist.

you were treated correctly at that time faisal, but only treatment is not enough. bleeding gums and bad breath are due to deposition of plaque and calculus around teeth. professional cleaning removes this and hence treats the cause. but even after treatment, not following the oral hygiene habits properly can reestablish the disease. visit a dentist every 6 months for professional cleaning of your teeth, brush 2 times a day, floss your teeth, rinse your mouth after every meal, eat healthy food and drink a lots of water. I advise you to visit a dentist and get your teeth cleaned again as it was 2 years ago you went for the same and then strictly follow the oral hygiene habits.

No need to worry about tooth extraction. Doctor will give you local anasthesia and then remove your tooth. It is a completely painless procedure. You need not worry at all.
