Flexion in Standing----EXERCISE FOR BACK PAIN

  • Stand upright with your feet well apart. Allow your arms to hang loosely by your side . You are now ready to commence the exercise. Bend forward and run your fingers down your legs as far as you can comfortably reach . Return immediately to the upright standing position. 
  • Each time you repeat this movement cycle, you must try to bend down a little further so that in the end you have reached the maximum possible degree of flexion and your fingertips are as close as possible to the floor.
  • Exercise  should only be commenced after the completion of two weeks of practice of Flexion Exercise in sitting, whether Flexion Exercise in sitting has been successful or not in reducing your stiffness or pain. In the beginning you must do only five or six repetitions per session; the sessions are to be repeated once or twice per day . For a period of three months from the time you have become pain free, this Exercise  must never be performed in the first four hours of your day.

Avoid sitting Cross legged. Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports Taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold).

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. There are actually many causes of pain around the ankle region, so it could be due to due to some injury, inflammation, infection etc. First priority is to keep your sugar levels within normal values by regular intake of medications. I will advise you on certain blood investigations which you should do empty stomach and send me the reports: cbc, esr, crp, serum uric acid, serum electrolytes, serum vitamin d & b12 levels done. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretchingstretch do the cat/cow avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Apply hot fomentation.

Hi, I'm actively walking every morning for about 4 km. But every night before sleeping I get strong pain on both of my lower legs and it has already taken a month. So my wife massage with oil and then I keep a warm bottle on my legs to get some relief. Kindly help.

Hello Doctor, I feel pain in arms at different points specially elbow, wrists, biceps and triceps. It goes down to hands. I feel electric shock like pain when I lift or pull something with my fingers. Even a cloth. My nerve conduction study is normal. What kind of pain it is? I was initially diagnosed with tennis elbow and tried ultrasonic massage and TENS. Later when pain felt at other points, MRI spine done. There was some problem in C5C6 and my doctor gave me medicines. Etogesic, pregabalin 75mg at night, ultracet semi after breakfast lunch. Took for 2 months. Anti inflammatory when tennis elbow. It's been 5 months and my pain is getting worse.

You should take acupressure therapy and take biochemic mag phos 200x +nat sulph 200x 4 tab each thrice a day with warm water and take it 5 days and consult private online.

I'm a 25 year old guy, I get knee pain only on the left leg, this may be due to cricket matches that I play, how do I go about relieving the pain and strengthening my bones. Do I need to see a doctor or is it normal for physically active people? Will good calcium intake help?

Tk calcium and do hot fermentation and avoid strain for 2 days. Apply pain relief ointment. Put a towel roll under knee and press for 10 sec then release repeat 10 time. And quadriceps exercise in gradually process for strength.
