Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain.

Sleep disorders and muscular pain is generally seen in the patients suffering from anxiety, stress or depression. Take necessary steps to overcome anxiety stress and depression. Keep your digestion fit. Avoid spicy oily n fried junk food. Avoid tea coffee and aerated drinks.

Rule out high BP Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use a pillow under the legs. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem.

I am having pain in my shoulder joint but I don't know why. I have been going to gym since 1 year and also consuming protein supplement and creatine. But from past 2 weeks my pain is constantly troubling me. I even skipped gym for couple of days but still issue remains.

Hi lybrate-user, fallen from stairs got injury and feeling pain. Do not worry. Apply diclofenac gel and take heat fermentation to reduce pain. If the pain is severe you can take accelofenac paracetamol tablet 1 time a day for 2 days only.

sir go for a complete detox of ur body with the help of ayurveda's Panchakarma therapy. It includes Abhyangam (Massage with medicated oils) n medicated steam bath. this wud rejuvenate ur body - improving ur work efficiency and bettering ur sleep. It will also strengthen ur nerves and muscles. These procedures will take out the harmful toxins out of ur body - cleansing ur body. Also take Shirodhara which would completely take the stress out of ur body and u will feel light, fresh and full of energy. strictly avoid all junks, oily -spicy food, pickles if u r eating, drink lots of water, juices or daily have fresh fruits. try to keep ur bowel clear.

Herbal oil massage is very good for back pain. One such oil is ezeejoint pain relief oil. Massage ezeejoint oil twice daily on painful area. Ezeejoint oil work on root cause of pain and ultimately relieve pain. It also makes joints flexible & healthy. Thank you.

I am 34 years old female, and weigh almost 69 kgs and my height is 5.4 ft .therefore I believe am 15 kgs overweight. I am a pure Vegetarian. I was 54 before pregnancy and put almost 20 Kgs. After delivery and my daughter now 5 years I still weigh 69 kgs. My body seems to be moderately sized however all the fat lies around my hip. I am a good dancer (free style) and have been working for over 17 years hailing from Mumbai and have been active always but off lately am having neck pains, chest and rib pains and the whole of left side .which I guess is due to acidity. I definitely wanted to follow a balanced diet and reduce some weight desperately. Off latterly am having sleep distractions as well. Request your suggestions and advice urgently. Thanks

For weight loss kindly follow these tips: 1. Have small frequent meals instead of 2-3 large ones 2. Eat slowly chewing your food well 3. Avoid junk/ processed/canned/ready to eat/ street/ outside/fried/sugary foods, soft, hard & energy drinks, glucose, chocolate, ice cream, sweets, candies 4. Replace simple carbs- sugar, sabudana, potato, refined grains (white rice, white bread, maida, noodles, biscuit, cake) with complex carbs- whole grains (brown rice, atta bread, dalia, suji, oats, atta, jowar, barley, quinoa), whole legumes (soyabean, peas, rajma, sprouts), whole fruits, vegetables, nuts oilseeds, lean meat(fish/chicken/egg) 5. Brisk walk daily for at least 30 mins, practice pranayam & kapalbhati, walk instead of hiring transport, take 15 mins light walk post meals, do not lie down within 1 hr of a meal, avoid sleeping in afternoon

Hello Mr. lybrate-user Knee pain in age 85 years is usually due to osteoarthritis knee. This leads to inflammation in knee and resulting stiffness in knee. Get a x-ray knee-AP/Lateral in standing position. We need to see your investigations and discuss your problem in detail. I can't write medicines here without proper diagnosis. Lifting Objects Overhead -  How It Causes Pain in Shoulders?

Shoulder pain while lifting overhead objects might be a result of strenuous activity involving tendons impinging bones of the shoulder. Impingement syndrome is also called swimmer’s syndrome.

What causes it?
It is caused by activities involving tendons and bones of the shoulder, for example strenuous activities, such as swimming, tennis and gym activities involving muscles of the shoulder. Even reaching for overhead objects and painting might aggravate impingement syndrome. If not treated at the right time, the syndrome might become extremely painful as the tendons begin to tear.

Symptoms
General pain in the shoulder is one of the most common symptoms, especially while reaching for overhead objects or using shoulder and arm muscles in general. If it occurs for a prolonged period of time, then it might actually lead to a tendon tearing and leading to a rotator cuff tear. This would overtime lead to decreased ability to use the arm muscles and the bicep muscles might tear as a result of prolonged negligence, despite swimmers syndrome. A doctor would recommend a physical exam and x-ray to rule out possibilities for bone abnormalities and arthritis.

How to prevent and treat it? 
Those who have extreme shoulder pain and have been diagnosed with swimmer’s shoulder are referred to a physiotherapist with whom, regular sessions help restore mobility of the affected areas. The physiotherapist recommends the patient numerous stretching exercises to practise, preferably under a hot shower. In addition to physiotherapy, a doctor will prescribe powerful painkillers which have to be administered orally on a regular basis. 

These oral painkillers, such as ibuprofen have to be taken under the guidance and prescription of a doctor as they will have a host of side effects such as acidity and should be taken post meals. In case of ineffectiveness of orally administered painkillers, cortisone based injections might be given, but it is a double-edged sword as the effectiveness of these injections decrease over time and it might make the muscles and tendons weak. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

The medicines you are taking are almost ok. But you must seriously consider knee replacement surgery. Knee surgery-total knee replacement (tkr) surgery is quite safe & gives uniformly good results,

Climbing up and down stairs requires enormous efforts by the body and the heart needs to pump more blood to your limbs to make them work. It is a normal phenomenon and is exaggerated in old age. I would advise you not to use stairs too much. Drunk lot of fluids and keep yourself hydrated. Move your ankles and feet before you get up from during our lying position, in order to pull back blood from your lower limbs to your heart. Regards.
