Keep practicing and do take a simple high protein diet like milk, curds & boiled eggs (if you eat) clear soups minus cream -both veg & non veg, carbs & little good fats like desi ghee and butter + a katori of assorted nuts to get ggod fats and proteins. Eat seasonal vegetables & fruits according to your constitution but no juices. Drink lots of water and ors, lemon + spoon of honey with warm water if taken on empty stomach every morning does help get rid of bad fats from blood and bad fats in blood is one of the reasons of low stamina. Take multivitamin becosule or polybion capsule one a day _ shelcal 500 mg for calcium & vitamin d for strong bones. Do deworming by taking a tablet of bandy plus so that the food eaten by you is utilized well. Take a course of metrogyl 200 mg twice daily with food for 3 days -this is again to cleanse your food pipe. Do write back after a month. As a proof for reassurance you can get basic heart tests done- ecg, halter, blood for sugar, cbc & total lipids, get back here with reports if anything is faulty, otherwise carry on with your practice.

WHAT IS MEANT BY GRADE-1 HEART PROBLEM DUE TO HYPERTENSION? WHAT IS THE MEDICATION? Please suggest.
hypertension has no identifiable cause. ... About 10% to 15% of people have secondary hypertension - high blood pressure caused by an underlying condition or medication. Secondary hypertension is presumably curable, if the underlying condition is treated or the offending drug is stopped

Hello, Thanks for the query. Usually when one has hypothyroidism, it also upsets lipids. Once hypothyroidism is corrected lipids do return to normal. With adequate dose of Levothyroxine TSH is maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L, at that level all the symptoms are in check. TSH at 6 mU/L is high. So please see that it is brought under proper control. Plus it is necessary to control weight as well as food intake. Since there is no information your weight, height, it is difficult to comment. Thanks.

What Should You Know About Hypertension and High Blood Pressure?

What Should You Know About Hypertension and High Blood Pressure?

High blood pressure is a condition which occurs when the pressure of the blood flow through the arteries increases, resulting in intense pressure. Hypertension occurs when the systolic pressure (pressure at which the heart pumps blood) and the diastolic pressure (pressure at which the heart relaxes) is more than 140 and 90 respectively.

Symptoms of high blood pressure are:

  1. Shortness of breathIf you have high blood pressure, then you may experience regular shortness of breath.
  2. HeadachesYou may experience headaches on a regular basis.
  3. Weakness of the heart muscles: Hypertension results in a weak heart which may not be able to pump blood properly.
  4. Narrowing of blood vessels: Narrowing of blood vessels may lead to other complications such as failure of the kidneys, heart, and brain.
  5. Vision problems: It may lead to vision problems as blood vessels in the eye may be affected.

The various causes of blood pressure are:

  1. Tobacco: If you smoke on a regular basis, you put yourself at an increased risk of getting affected by blood pressure.
  2. Lifestyle: Not exercising regularly, eating a sodium-rich diet are all factors which can increase the chances of hypertension.
  3. Age: The chances of getting affected by hypertension increase as you age.
  4. Weight: Being excessively obese also increases your risk of getting affected by hypertension.
  5. DiabetesBeing diabetic makes you more prone to getting affected by diabetes.
  6. HyperthyroidismIf you have an overactive thyroid gland, then it may result in hypertension.

Hypertension may result in various health complications in the body such as:

  1. Aneurysm: This is a disorder of the blood vessels which causes the blood vessels to bulge and weaken.
  2. Heart attackHigh blood pressure causes the arteries to harden and thicken which may lead to a heart attack.
  3. Metabolic syndrome: This syndrome refers to a group of complications such as high bad cholesterol levels and insulin levels in the body.
  4. Impaired brain functioning: It may also impair your ability to learn and impact your cognitive skills. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can ask a free question.

I am 47 years female with diabetes, hypertension and hypothyroidism. Have been taking medicines and vitamin/iron supplements for deficiencies. Now I have a question regarding a particular diet. LCHF-Low carbohydrate high fat diet is very popular for diabetics where they adopt 20% carb/20%protein/60% fat since we all diabetics have problem of carbohydrates metabolism. I wish to ask whether 20% carb intake is enough for normal functioning of body? Due to ketosis and ketogenic effect, where body uses ketone instead of glucose in absence of glucose availability due to low carbs, can such diet work long time and effective in lowering blood sugar levels? I have seen people adopting such diets and either use minimal drugs or even without medicines they manage their diabetes with this kind of low carb diet. Pl tell me how to go about it if I wish to manage my diabetes with the help of low or moderate carbs plus how many calories total I should take in a day as a women and with all these medical conditions with an almost sedentary lifestyle. What percentage of carbs intake is an ideal to follow for a diabetic with hypothyroidism if we take 1600 calorie diet? I read that too low carb intake can again damage thyroid.

Being a person who manages dozens of different varieties of diabetics daily, I don't believe in such fads. I believe a diabetic should have a sensible diet, regular & moderate exercise, relaxed, stressfree lifestyle, good quality sleep and abstain from tobacco (if possible, from alcohol too). All these "percentage diets" are useless.

4 years olds have high metabolic rates and their heart beats faster than adults. If worried, get her checked by specialist who will put a stethoscope on her chest to hear murmurs if heart is not healthy and suggest you further care and treatment.

Dear lybrate user, only home remedies may not be sufficient enough to lower your blood sugar level.
