I am 41 yrs old male. Suffering from berge of disc of l5 s1 since last 10 months. On physiotherapy daily. If execcise is stopped them legs and foot get cramps and heavy pains after 15 min walking only. Cants stand for more than 30 min. Want somebody to press legs or squeez. Kindly suggest.

Well sir your problem has started bcos of muscle weakness and improper posture of back. so exercises r vital for u. The problem of cramps and pain in your legs is also due to weakness in muscles, plus lack of calcium, potassium and magnesium in your diet. I would recommend that u learn some exercises for your lower limbs and get your blood check-up. If needed u have to consult some good dietitian. Thank you.

Hand/fingers pain usually occurs because of un noticed injury, may be hard push or pull or forceful grip. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take caldikind plus (mankind)1tab odx10days paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days contact me again if need be. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. May be you are heading for trigger thumb & may need a small surgery.

Is your pain localized or one which is radiating down from neck region? think it can be due to some degeneration setting in your shoulders, I suggest you for intensive shoulder rehab in presence of physical therapist initially, a short course of anti-inflammatory medications and calcium/vitamin d supplementation. Requires detailed examination and investigation. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Hi, you can do the x-rays done (standing AP) and show to orthopaedician near by your area, then only decision can be made further. Try to avoid the food that contains uric acid so that it will be in normal range.

A high uric acid level can be caused when your body either produces too much uric acid or your kidneys don't eliminate uric acid rapidly enough. A high uric acid level may cause increasingly frequent attacks of gout, or it may never cause problems. A high uric acid level may also cause some people to develop kidney stones or kidney failure. And some people with a high uric acid level also develop high blood pressure, heart disease or chronic kidney disease, but it's often unclear whether this is a direct cause or merely an early warning sign of these conditions. Factors that may cause a high uric acid level in your blood include: Diuretic medications (water pills),Drinking too much alcohol,Genetics (inherited tendencies),hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid),Immune-suppressing drugs,Niacin, or vitamin B-3, obesity,psoriasis, Purine-rich diet — organ meat, game meat, anchovies, herring, gravy, dried beans, driedpeas, mushrooms and other foods Renal insufficiency — inability of the kidneys to filter waste Tumor lysis syndrome — a rapid release of cells into the blood caused by certain cancers or by chemotherapy for those cancers,Also, you may be monitored for high uric acid levels when undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment for cancer. Avoid protein diets, avoid more milk products. bad habits , fast food/fat/oily,salty foods. Coffee, smoking, alcohol intake. Non-veg., take whole grain,oats,green veg.,plenty of water in day time, 1 glass of water at night before bed.Take tab. Zyloric 100 mg once a day.Take tab. Bencid 500 mg once a day. Tab. Ulracet sos or tab. Naprosyn 500 mg once a day or sos for pain in joints.

Your spine disk is compressed and pain radiate through nerve supply in your leg. Advice: use hot pack for pain relief on back for 10 min. Do pelvic floor muscle exercises 2 times in a day. Lumber muscle stretching exercise like lying supine and both knees touches to the chest by the help of hands do 10 repetition 2 times in a day. Manual lumber traction by lying supine both legs on chair below knees and chair height must be little higher then hip to knee height.

Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area.

Initial symptoms include a dull pain in the low back, followed by pain in the back of the thighs along with a tingling/numbness in certain cases. Hi Thanks for your query and welcome to Lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from Fortis hospital, New Delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - To maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - If pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - Physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - Adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - Ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - Analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - Avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc We will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. X-ray must its arthritis so tk calcium supplements and heat fermentation twice a day keep a towel roll under knee and press for 10 second then release do 15 times in a once time. If it work then ok otherwise tk physiotherapy treatment must for you avoid long standing, squatting, cross legs. After relief start quadriceps exercise in gradually process it will help you.
