Diet and lack of exercise are the two most important factors that contribute to obesity. While the modern day diet is becoming more and more full of fats, sweets and empty calories, it is becoming devoid of nutritious vitamins and minerals. The fibre content is also decreasing. One tends to stack up on junk food in an effort to take a quick bite while on the go. At the same time, physical activity is on the decline. Hye. Thank you for your query. Firstly lime water is not a remedy to burn fats. It helps cleanse your system and a clear digestive system is always going to help your efforts to eat clean. In order to lose weight you must either eat sensibly and exercise to burn off calories. Eat as per the body's needs. Food that is not used to fuel the body is stored as fat. A major component of losing weight is to make smarter food choices. Here's how: limit non-nutritious foods, such as: sugar, honey, syrups and candy, pastries, donuts, pies, cakes and cookies, soft drinks, sweetened juices and alcoholic beverages cut down on high-fat foods by: choosing poultry, fish or lean red meat. Choosing low-fat cooking methods, such as baking, broiling, steaming, grilling and boiling. Avoiding high-fat snacks like chips and chocolate. Avoiding fried foods. Using less margarine and mayonnaise. Avoiding high-fat gravies, cream sauces and cream-based dishes. Eat a variety of foods, including: fruit and vegetables, whole grains, breads, cereal, rice and pasta, dairy products, such as low-fat or non-fat milk or yogurt, low-fat cottage cheese and low-fat cheese, protein-rich foods like chicken, fish, dals and legumes, or beans should be included in your diet. Hye, thanks for the query. Firstly it is important to understand that weight /fat loss involves sensible eating. You have to eat the right foods at the right time. Eat small but frequent meals. Reduce your main meals by 1/4th the amount. Take a glass of lime water 10 minutes before meals. Avoid long gaps in between meals. Avoid junk as far as possible. Exercise at least 4 times a week. Lastly be committed. Remember it's a lifestyle change and not a one time thing. It's a balanced intake that will last you longer. All the so called diets will only give you muscle and bone loss. The fats will remain as it is. So, try to first follow this seemingly simple tips.

Being a dietitian my views: there is no single diet chart for everyone. To plan a specific diet we do collect lot of information like height, weight, food frequency, digestive history, medical history, likes, dislike, lifestyle, eating habits. Remember one thing to follow a diet it should be personalized according to person's body type and not generalized. Starting with there is no pills or powder or shake which can help you to lose weight in a healthy way. To lose weight eat an hour within walking up and dinner at least 2 hours before you sleep. Avoiding eating anything after dinner. Breakfast should be your king size have good complex carbohydrates and protein rich. Eat every 2 hours small frequent meal do help in weight loss. And do not overeat. One can come to ideal body weight with few lifestyle modification. Have green tea only 2 cups a day. For exercise I would say diet plays 80 % role and exercise plays 20 % role in losing weight. Personal advise on gym. You should not make your body habituated with machines rather do simple walk or surya namaskar or planks. So only with healthy eating one can lose weight.

Hi. Firstly because of high BP, stop table salt and no more than 3/4 tsp salt in the entire day food. Also no packaged foods like breads, chips or cookies. And maybe you could fix an appt and come see me for a diet plan for weight loss along with detailed BP guildelines.

Hi Aman Green tea antioxidant rich but does not helps that much in weight loss. For weight loss you have to follow low carbs diet with high protein diet and you have to avoid wheat, rice, pulses and sugar and any item made from these items like daliya, poha, corn flakes, oats, biscuits, namkeen etc. Strictly during weight loss because all this foods are rich in carbs. My age is 25. I have gone through a diet chart recently which have daily in morning, White rice in afternoon with any vegetable or non veg except potato. At dinner I have taken 4 roti and Dal. I have lost 4 kg in one month but the belly fat is still the same. My arm has reduced due to the dieting. I have completely avoid sugar, ice cream, cold water. I want to loose belly fat. Please suggest a good diet plan of bengali origin. And I cook for myself so I have very little time to cook. I have bought a tummy trimmer recently but I don't know if it can make it or not. Please suggest a good exercise to do in my busy schedule.

Morning breakfast should be good (not mentioned 4 egg whites, 1 glass milk, 2 chapati Afternoon add dal and curd 1 katori each if not taking non veg (Else fish and rice is good) and reduce rice to half rice to half At Night take 1 chapati, 1 katori dal plus Sabzi Dinner at least 2 hr before going to bed.

Along with gym you should take balanced diet. Take proper food before and after gym. Use protein shake or whey protein immediately after workout. As protein is needed extra for gym goers. Before workout take brown rice, sweet potato with steamed broccoli with olive oil, banana with almond butter or peanut butter. Oat meal, berries, walnut, apple. After workout protein shake with banana, almond milk, hemp seed as excellent protein source. Salad with roasted chicken with added vinegar, olive oil, multi grain bread, steamed vegetables, brown rice. Drink lots of water and proper sleep.

Hye, Thanks for the query. Firstly understand that weight gain is very dependent on genetics and metabolism. Many a times weight gain takes time. It is important to know that just eating just two heavy meals a day will not help. Eating the right foods at the right time is very important. Eat meals at frequent intervals. Eat about 6 calorie dense meals a day. Eat a mid meal between each main meal. Avoid junk foods. Include dairy, eggs, nuts, fruits in your meals. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. Only if you break down can you grow or develop or rebuild. Even if you were to take medicines or supplements they will not work in isolation. You need to have a calorie and nutrient dense meal first before starting any supplement.

I will suggest you to do suryanamaskar daily as per your capacity for a minimum of six months and for loosing weight few tips on diet say no to maida items like toast, khaari ,naan ,white bread. Can drink tea but without sugar say no to Buffalo milk and can drink cows milk can eat brown bread can eat sprout's can eat green vegetables, can eat chappati ,bajra ka rotla can eat one katori of rice twice a day with dal to avoid farsan food items can eat fruits say no to coconut water.

First you should follow low calories food for weight loss. * in morning, take 1-2 chapattis with a bowl of cooked green vegetables. You can take a glass of lemon water with it *in lunch you can take a bowl of raw vegetables like carrot, radish, tomatoes, turnip or beetroot. *in evening, you can take a cup of green tea only with some pieces of friuts like apple, pineapple, pear. Avoid taking banana or mango. *in dinner, you can take vegetable soup or a bowl of cooked vegetables. But do not take potato, sweet potatoes. * you can take a cup skimmed milk 4 times a week only during day time. * work out for atleast 1 hour in morning, you can try skipping for 15minutes with a walk of 30 minutes and 5-10 minutes running. Follow these exercises in the morning - * lie down on flat surface, raise your legs without bending your knees, do it for 3-5 times daily * do not eat fastfoods and soft drinks, as they have high calories and the calories deposit in body in the form of weight if not utilised. * you can take medohar guggalu 1 tablet daily for quick weight loss but only under the guidance of ayurveda expert.

Because of the weight you have pcod. You have to consume less calories by eating salads, soups, fruits, and burn calories by exercise 45 mts a day.
