I am 21 year old. I am having throat pain since three days. Please suggest any precautions for this pain. Thank you.
Cold, cough and throat problem can happen due to weather changes, exposure to cold air or rain, dust and pollen allergy and certain sour food. *. Mix some salt in warm water and do gargling early in the mornings. * Steam inhalation will relieve your congestion *. Keep a clove (lavang) in your mouth and slowly chew it. *. Drinking water frequently will eliminate toxins From the body and reduce congestion if any *. Avoid fried and oily foods. This can be treated by homoeopathy without adverse effects. Take Belladonna 200 –once in the morning and once in the evening.

I observed intermittent swelling on my left side throat. When I had a checkup, I was told that there is a problem with gland responsible for saliva secretion. It secretes saliva but couldn' t excrete it & hence its getting swollen whenever I taste something. Is this normal? what would be the cause & solution? I do not having smoking/drinking habits

This may be due to infection in the gland (sialadenitis) or due to stone formation (calculus) in the duct of gland that opens into mouth. Get an ultrasound done of this area and send the report. If there is stone it will require surgery. Avoid spicy food and keep good oral hygiene.

I feel some kind of etching in my throat, all the time (sukha khansi). What to do?
Irritation in throat occurs due to 1. GERD (gastric problem) 2. Dust allergy (sneezing, itching, nose block) 3. Throat infection (bacterial or viral) It is imp that you meet ENT specialist and get examined. Later depending on your problem treatment can be started.

I am 39 years old suffering from polyp in left vocal cord. Any remedy in medicine or other therapy without surgery. What is the risk factor associated?

MS , MBBS
ENT Specialist, Bangalore
Hi, Vocal polyps do not respond to any medical treatment unless it's a vocal nodule. Vocal nodule in early stage can get resolved if you could give voice rest and do some steam inhalation. I suggest you consult another ent surgeon and confirm the diagnosis.
