Dear lybrate-user, You are young and should monitor all your health issues with a properly planned nutritious diet, exercise and life style. Begin Yoga and pranayama. With proper planning, at your age, BP can come under good control without medication and you can lead a normal happy life. Foods that will help: Green leafy vegs; Dahi/ curd/butter milk BEFORE food; pomegranate, beet, honey. Resist taking packaged foods of any kind and fried foods. Regards.

Distract yourself to keep your mind off smoking like concentrate on some work, watching tv, playing games, reading books/magazines, listen to music, cross word puzzle or playing online games etc 3. Remind yourself why you want to quit. Focus on your reasons for quitting like health benefits, improved appearance, financial effect and enhancement of self esteem 4. Get out of tempting situations like someone smoking close by 5. Reward yourself- reinforce your victories whenever you triumph over a craving. Give yourself a reward to keep yourself motivated 6. Find an oral substitute like mint, nicotine lozenges, nicotine patch, chewing gums etc 7. Keep your hands busy like squeezing balls, handling pencils, paper clips to satisfy the need for tactile stimulation 8. Brush your teeth-the just brushed clean feeling can motivate you to get rid of craving 9. Slowly drink a large cold glass of water to help the craving pass and keep you hydrated. It also minimizes the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal 10. Go for regular exercise, play some games 11. Yes you can take egg and Milk they usually do not have a major effect on high blood pressure You can prevent high blood pressure by having a healthy lifestyle. This means Eating a healthy diet. To help manage your blood pressure, you should limit the amount of sodium (salt) that you eat, and increase the amount of potassium in your diet. It is also important to eat foods that are lower in fat, as well as plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. The DASH diet is an example of an eating plan that can help you to lower your blood pressure. Getting regular exercise. Exercise can help you maintain a healthy weight and lower your blood pressure. You should try to get moderate-intensity aerobic exercise at least 2 and a half hours per week, or vigorous-intensity aerobic exercise for 1 hour and 15 minutes per week. Aerobic exercise, such as brisk walking, is any exercise in which your heart beats harder and you use more oxygen than usual. Being at a healthy weight. Being overweight or obese increases your risk for high blood pressure. Maintaining a healthy weight can help you control high blood pressure and reduce your risk for other health problems. Limiting alcohol. Drinking too much alcohol can raise your blood pressure. It also adds extra calories, which may cause weight gain. Men should have no more than two drinks per day, and women only one. Not smoking. Cigarette smoking raises your blood pressure and puts you at higher risk for heart attack and stroke. If you do not smoke, do not start. If you do smoke, talk to your health care provider for help in finding the best way for you to quit. Managing stress. Learning how to relax and manage stress can improve your emotional and physical health and lower high blood pressure. Stress management techniques include exercising, listening to music, focusing on something calm or peaceful, and meditating. If you already have high blood pressure, it is important to prevent it from getting worse or causing complications. You should get regular medical care and follow your prescribed treatment plan.

Consult a cardiologist for review of medications. Also start with lifestyle changes like - 1) daily brisk walking, begin gradually and then increase to 40-45 mins daily 2) Avoid high salt rich food like chips, namkeens, pickles, sauce, chutney. 3) Quit smoking and drinking if you do 4) Eat a heart healthy diet.

Heart beat & blood pressure are independent. But heart beat may or may not increase with increase in blood pressure. But high blood pressure can cause difficulty in breathing.

Dear lybrateuser, -The solution to your problem is that you stop drinking altogether, stop drinking at the point where your problem starts as this is a adverse reaction to the alcohol intake, it can become serious like dizziness, headache & collapse, so better would be to avoid intake.

Respected sir,
Sir mera blood pressure hamesha low rehta hai, isse mujhe koi khas problem nehi hota hai, kabhi 70/50,...
Low blood pressure, or hypotension, is rarely cause for concern — unless it's extremely low and related to shock. Hypotension is commonly defined as a blood pressure less than 100/60 (pressure between 100/60 and 120/80 is considered optimal). For most people, living with low blood pressure is not an issue. In fact, studies show that the lower your blood pressure, the lower your risk of cardiovascular disease.
