Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day.

My Father has Diabetic foot, left side. And is severely swelled up form past 2 years. Swelling is on toes and right beneath toes therefore he is not able to walk properly. MRI and Colour Doppler shows nothing. What is your opinion. Doc.?

You will have to see if there is any bone involvement (charcot's foot). He will need customized footwear to prevent development of wounds or ulcers on the pressure points. Please keep checking feet everyday to ensure immediate treatment incase of any infection.

Hi as your job involves sitting for prolonged hours, there are chances of pains and numbness in your arm and neck. It needs examination to check which muscles are involved. However its better for you to take repeated breaks during your work preferably every half an hour, doing some simple stretches, correcting your working posture, applying warm water for 15 mins twice a day. If the pain doesnt resolve, its good to check with a physiotherapist on a private consultation.

Fatty liver is graded and if grade 2, it can be prevented from becoming grade 4 leading to liver failure. Fatty liver means presence of fat cells on top of delcate liver cells, causing pressure on them making their functioning low. You can/ cannot reverse fatty liver, opinion is divided for grade 2, no harm in using less fats & do some exercise who you must be because of cardiac condition, drink juice of lemon plus a spoon of honey with warm water on empty stomach in morning, drink apple cider vinegar, a spoon with honey or juice, all of the above burn fats in body including liver. Try for a month and get tested by ultrasound to know fresh status of liver. Remember healthy liver cells rejuvinate very fast, provided you do not take any toxic food or medicines like heavy antibiotics.

Hunching over a desk is a leading reason why people end up with crippling back pain at some point in their lives. But a few simple changes in the way you work can make your pain go away. 1-Keep your head up; Focus on aligning your head and neck right above your shoulders; avoid straining forward. 2-Be choosy with your chair: Pick one that allows your lower back to rest against a lumbar support. Then tilt the back of the chair so it’s very slightly reclined. 3-Plant your feet: Keep them flat on the floor and shoulder-width apart to quiet tension in your knees and ankles. 4-Take breaks: Getting up at least once an hour— just do some shoulder rolls—reduces pressure on spinal disks and boosts circulation. If your back pain is severe please go to a Physiotherapist for detail assessment and management of your pain. Best wishes.

Hi Apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. Take pranacharya vatari syrup and capsule twice a day. And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day.

Hello lybrate user, leg pain after running is common due to spasm in the leg muscles known as tibialis anterior which functions to pull the foot towards your body during walking, running. When a person runs or exerts an unaccustomed stress there occurs production of lactic acid in the muscle which is quite painful. Relief by: rest ice application stretching exercises will help a lot god bless you.

My mother has severe leg pain. I am treating her with acupuncture. It seems to be reducing. Hot fermentation also seems to help. Any other method that wil be helpful pls suggest.

Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days. Bio d3 max 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do reply back for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Good Afternoon Sir, I am 58 years old working women having following problems 1) Right side foot pain, where it is curve. 2) Left side behind knee, I feel like swelling. I cannot fully bend the knee. If I walk more then it exerts (more stiffness). 3) Lower back upto thighs stiffness. 4) Right shoulder pain. Dear Lybrate User, As per your complains it seems like Poly-arthopathy may be due to Osteoarthritis OR Rheumatism OR Gout. For conformation of this you need to under go some investigations. Initially avoid yogurt, curt, excessive spicy & slaty foods, fast food & junk food, cold water/milk, cold drinks, avoid sprouted pulses like mung-chana etc. Don't sit directly at floor. Have hot fomentation on Joints & painful area, do small exercises of joints, Took proper sun bath, fruits & vegetables except all beans & pulses. U need ayurvedic panchkarma treatment. Hello madam. Try to avoid sitting cross legged, or bend the knees too much in any way like offering prayers, cleaning or going to the loo. Use western toilets only. Consult a physiotherapist and stat knee quads and hamstring strengthening exercises. Also go for a morning walk and taek a diet rich in milk and calcium and vit. D like fruits, spinach, papaya, mango, ragi, soyabean etc. Hope this helps.

Pain in right knee. Sir/Mam, I have moderate pain in my right knee only, but while bending there is cracking sound in both knees. During cold weather right knee's pain slightly increases and also it feels some inflammatory inside. I consulted a orthopedic doctor and he advised me to have x ray. And then advised me drugs (osteoma PLUS, ECOTOX, RABIKEM DSR, AND DICEF TAB) each 30 tablets for 30 days. But after taking all these medicines I don't feel any improvement. I asked another doctor who advised me to have CALCIUM 500 mg VITAMIN D3 500 iu tablets for couple of months and do some light exercise. please suggest me what should I do? My age is 26 years, weight 60 kgs, No one in my family has this problem, No injury or accident happened. BUT AS I LIVE ALONE AND GENERALLY HAVE FOOD IN HOTEL, SO THERE IS IRREGULARITIES IN MEAL AND ALSO DON'T GET PROPER DIET. (for last 10 years)

Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).
