viral fever will not last for 15 days. IF fever is for more than 7 days ,think of some other cause. Might be allergic rhinitis with fever which can be typhoid., uti, malaria etc.

low these tips to avoid airplane ear: Yawn and swallow during ascent and descent. Yawning and swallowing activate the muscles that open your eustachian tubes. You can suck on candy or chew gum to help you swallow. Use the Valsalva maneuver during ascent and descent. Gently blow, as if blowing your nose, while pinching your nostrils and keeping your mouth closed. Repeat several times, especially during descent, to equalize the pressure between your ears and the airplane cabin. Don't sleep during takeoffs and landings. If you're awake during ascents and descents, you can do the necessary self-care techniques when you feel pressure on your ears. Reconsider travel plans. If possible, don't fly when you have a cold, sinus infection, nasal congestion or ear infection. If you've recently had ear surgery, talk to your doctor about when it's safe to travel. Use an over-the-counter decongestant nasal spray. If you have nasal congestion, use a nasal decongestant about 30 minutes to an hour before takeoff and landing. Avoid overuse, however, because nasal decongestants taken over several days can increase congestion. Use oral decongestant pills cautiously. Oral decongestants may be helpful if taken 30 minutes to an hour before an airplane flight. However, if you have heart disease, a heart rhythm disorder or high blood pressure or if you've experienced possible medication interactions, avoid taking an oral decongestant unless your doctor approves. If you're a man older than age 50, you may experience serious side effects after taking decongestants containing pseudoephedrine (Actifed, Sudafed), such as urinary retention, especially if you have an enlarged prostate. If you're pregnant, talk to your doctor before taking oral decongestants. Take allergy medication. If you have allergies, take your medication about an hour before your flight. Use filtered earplugs. These earplugs slowly equalize the pressure against your eardrum during ascents and descents. You can purchase these at drugstores, airport gift shops or your local hearing clinic. If you're prone to severe airplane ear and must fly often, your doctor may surgically place tubes in your eardrums to aid fluid drainage, ventilate your middle ear, and equalize the pressure between your outer ear and middle ear.

I have been feeling little dizzy for some time, and I checked my bp at home it was showing 148/95 and the next day it's 150/115. It's too high and is it normal to fluctuate? I Don't prefer medication. off late I am too stressed and I am getting frequent head ache. Pls suggest what should be done.

The two readings of BP that you have mentioned are slightly high; you should get it corroborated by showing a nurse practitioner or a doctor who will check your BP for you. If the BP readings are high on multiple occasions at different times of the day, then you may have Hypertension, which is the disease in which High BP is the only problem. Since you are young, it may be related to gestation, or there may be an underlying condition which can cause Hypertension; this is called Secondary Hypertension, and investigations may be required to find an underlying condition (such as Kidney disease, hormonal disorders, etc). All these are best done by a Physician well-versed in management of Hypertension. The last thing I would like to say here is this: nobody in this world loves to take medicines; if there is someone like that, I have not met that person. Taking medicines has nothing to do with our likes or preferences; it has to be taken for better health and quality of life. If your physician identifies that you have Hypertension and that you need to take medications to prevent the damage that Hypertension can cause, then you actually have no choice. The silver lining is that Hypertension (again, assuming you have it) can be reversible in the early stages, or be very easily controlled by appropriate diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes. Till such time that it does not become permanent or severe, you have the choice of using these non-pharmacological methods. I definitely hope you don't have Hypertension and all this is a false alarm; but even if you do have it, please understand that it is not such a bad thing to be taking medicines for high BP.

VTry taking steam inhalation 3 times a day. If not improved in 3 days, please consult and ENT Specialist in 3 days. Here is the step by step guide to steam inhalation- 1) Boil a pot of water. 2) Pour water into a large flat pan or bowl. If you use a casserole, water will remain warm for longer duration. 3) Place your head over the bowl at a distance of 1 feet. 4) Cover your head and bowl with a large towel (like a tent), take long breath through your nose and breath out through mouth. Take a break every 1-2 minutes until you feel relatively cooler. Do it for 10 minute twice or thrice a day. If you feel that the treatment is getting too much for you, raise the towel so that fresh air is brought into the area and breathe through your mouth a couple of times and then resume Take care - Take all precautions while dealing with hot water. Also, keep children away and wan others that you are dealing with boiling hot water. Other way is - by an Electric steamer available in market and take steam through it. It is more convenient.

When you bathe immediately after sweating and your body is hot, the body temperature suddenly drops and you get sore throat. Avoid bathing till your body cools down.
