Most probably you are suffering from oa of knee. Knee surgery-total knee replacement (tkr) is quite safe & gives uniformly good results. Surgery should be done when patient is still active & will be able to take benefit of surgery. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem. Kindly show me x- rays before a final decision can be taken. You will be thoroughly investigated before surgery is under taken. Risk in surgery is less than the risk in crossing road. Left leg - knee to toe - some weird, creepy, crawling sensation is there through out the day for about a year. When I am about to sleep it is more so I tend to move my leg due to uneasiness. It affects the way I walk. I was asked to take a dopler test on both legs and a nerve conduction study. On seeing the result doctor say that the results are within the allowable limits and have given me multi-vitamin tablet. My problem still persists. Need some insight into this. I am not a diabetic, and my sugar levels are normal.

Hi. I believe you might have a restless leg syndrome. Restless legs syndrome (rls) is a neurological disorder characterized by throbbing, pulling, creeping, or other unpleasant sensations in the legs and an uncontrollable, and sometimes overwhelming, urge to move them. Symptoms occur primarily at night when a person is relaxing or at rest and can increase in severity during the night. Moving the legs relieves the discomfort. Often called paresthesias (abnormal sensations) or dysesthesias (unpleasant abnormal sensations), the sensations range in severity from uncomfortable to irritating to painful. Certain lifestyle changes and activities that may reduce mild to moderate symptoms include decreased use of caffeine, alcohol, and tobacco; supplements to correct deficiencies ; changing or maintaining a regular sleep pattern; a program of moderate exercise like walking for 30 mins; and massaging the legs, taking a hot bath, or using a heating pad or ice pack try all dis but strongly suggest you to check with neurologist to get proper diagnosis and he may prescribe some medicine.

Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings.

Id she has not had any injury to the knee then at this age it is most likely to be degenerative pathology. This needs to be confirmed with xrays. Blood investigation to rule out inflammatory arthritis may be required if there is family history of ra. The first line of management in degenerative knee pain is conservative with physiotherapy and pain control with over the counter simple analgesic.

Joint pains with morning stiffness is a common condition. Acute phase can be managed with medicines. Physiotherapy helps in preventing contractures & deformities.
