I have a cage of sparrows and we put 30 sparrows in that. After 2 month sporrow going to be died automaticaly. Can I know the reason for that. Is there need any medicine for birds?

M.V.Sc. & PhD Scholar Veterinary Medicine
Veterinarian, Navi Mumbai
Most probably overcrowding must be the reason for the death of sparrows. Because there are many different infections that can spread in overcrowded cage and mainly stress along with improper ventilation are the contributing factor for most the spread of all these diseases. So provide ample quantity of clean water, regular disinfection of the cage should be done and try to reduce the number of sparrows per cage. Hope this information is helpful for you. Thank you.

Hello! sir/mam I have a 6 years old pomerian and now I adopted a stray dog which is approx. 8-9 months old. Now the pomerian has started attacking the smaller one n is becoming aggressive. Please help how to tackle the situation. Can I give some medicine (homeo) for controlling anger or something else. Thanks.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
Dogs are very territorial and possessive. Obviously the older dog feels some intrusion into her space and will attack the intruder. You must keep them separate for some time and gradually bring them together. Feed them separately too and when you take them out have two handlers to prevent them getting too close. Over a period of time they can be let to play together gradually. You must give the pomeranian a lot of assurance that she is loved. You may also introduce them to each other keeping the older dog on a leash. during play they will slowly get used to each other and form a good bond. No medication is required as this is a normal response anyway. The pomeranian must be reprimanded for her aggression every time and acknowledged for any gentleness too.

My German shepherd aged about 5 years is not having food expect in evening. Today my mom gave him bath and noticed that on left ear edge a area about half a inch is swelling which seems like if some water like substance is in it. Also upper part of left eye is in same condition. Kindly help me in this regard with some effective medicines. Regards

MVSc, BVSc
Veterinarian,
Most shephards tend to eat once that too in the evenings, especially in summers. The ear thing you mentioned could be Aural hematoma, and the water like swelling could be accumulation of unclotted blood. Kindly visit your vet and explore treatment options. It can vary form puncturing the swelling and drain contents (a recurrent procedure), to surgical correction (depends on how extensive it is) or Homeopathy meds to reduce recurrence. Take care.

Hey please any doctor help me my dog has eaten a frog and he is vomiting. please suggests me any fast treatment.

MVSc (Ph.D)
Veterinarian,
Dog is carnivores, it eats many kinds of animals, if given to it, but generally, it kills & does not eat. Vomition is an act of getting out the frog from stomach, it is good thing, I have not encountered such situations as like you, in my opinion, it may digest the frog, by its digestive juices, or more prompt, the frog should be removed by laparotomy means by surgical operation, it is done well. Frogs have obnoxious glands on its skin, due to which there will be vomiting,

Dogs need to wash to keep comfortable much like we do. They feel more comfortable and less irritable because they are clean. As such, you may well notice that your dog’s temperament improves with regular grooming. Similarly, the personal attention that they are getting will also improve their outlook and their overall attitude.

Enhancing Bonding - This is the main advantage of grooming your dog
yourself. You can actively look to form a bond with your dog that goes above
and beyond any other bond. The close personal attention that your dog gets
does not come in any other form and the shared experience can really make
you feel a connection to your dog that is founded on that.

Grooming is an essential element of the care of a dog. Every single owner should have a basic working knowledge of how to groom their dogs because it makes an awful lot of difference to not only how a dog looks but also to how he or she feels. A clean and well groomed dog is generally happier than a dirty and matted dog for a number of reasons. Firstly, groomed dogs have had personal attention from their owners and so are more contented as a result. They are also more secure in their position within a family as a result of the care and the bond that has been forged between owner and dog. Furthermore, well groomed dogs are often healthier because any health issues that arise can be spotted quickly and easily.

All of the above aside, it is an owner’s responsibility to look after a dog as well as possible and the basics of grooming do not require much effort to learn. However, you need to have a good basic knowledge of grooming tools and how they can be used to improve the overall appearance of your dogs.

My labrador puppy is having parvo virus what to do? is there any medicine or injection for him?

M.V.Sc (Surgery)

How old is your dog. Best treatment for parvo virus is regular fluid therapy. You can use parvo virus immunoglobulin along with fluids. Antibiotics for prevention of secondary infection.
