I am losing of my hair what is the problem and what are the tablets are there please help me.

I am losing of my hair what is the problem and what are the tablets are there please help me.
In general, you lose about 50-100 strands of hair each day, but the loss is not visible as new hair grow in their place. However, if you lose more than a 100 strands in a day and more than 200 strands on the day you shampoo, you may be suffering from what is known as excessive hair fall. Apply coconut oil and do not use shampoo. Only dry the excess Certain factors or reasons may cause you to lose hair at an alarming rate, which are, 1. Thyroid problems Your thyroid is responsible for your body’s overall functioning. The hormones (primarily T4 and T3), which it produces help in regulating metabolic activities. Problems with your thyroid gland can cause your hormone levels to rise or fall to unhealthy levels, which can result in hair fall. You can improve the functioning of your thyroid gland through a diet rich in calcium, iodine, magnesium, protein and Vitamins A, B and C. 2. Scalp infections-Infections of the scalp can also be one of the factors that may cause your hair to fall at an alarming rate. Of the different scalp infections, the ringworm scalp infection is the most common. Although this fungal infection can occur in any part of your body, when it develops on your scalp, you end up losing clumps of hair. Alongside the use of anti-fungal medications, even anti-fungal shampoos and creams can provide you with respite from the problem. 3. Poor diet, Gorging on unhealthy foods or going on a crash diet can result in the lack of essential nutrients in your body, which are required to maintain healthy hair. Furthermore, since hair is made of protein, having a balanced diet consisting of proteins and vitamin- rich foods is a must. 4. Stress gives rise to certain conditions such as alopecia areata, telogen effluvium (hair loss caused post-pregnancy or surgery) and trichotillomania (an impulsive need to pull your hair out), which can cause you to lose significant amount of hair. To avert a hair loss crisis caused by stress, make it a point to do some simple stress-reducing exercises, such as meditation or breathing exercises. 5. Using hair styling products like hair colours and straighteners can cause you to experience hair fall problems. Your hair not only becomes dull and dry due to their use, but also becomes weak and brittle, leading to a gradual loss of hair. Regular oiling and use of homemade hair masks are some of the ways you can try to counter the negative effects of these hair styling products. 6. The drugs that are used in the treatment of cancer not only destroy the fast-growing cancer cells, but also the healthy blood cells in your body. For this reason, consuming foods that possess cancer-fighting properties (like oatmeal, tomato, almonds, garlic etc) is a sure-shot way of fighting the disease as well as averting any side-effects that may arise because of the treatment. 7. Alopecia areata. Lastly, hair fall can also be caused by alopecia areata, which is a kind of hair loss that takes place when your body’s immune system erroneously attacks your hair follicles, and prevents growth of new hair. 8. Genetics. The origin of your severe hair fall or baldness can be traced back to your ancestors. So, your genes can be a factor behind your hair fall problem. If this is the cause, your body then becomes unable to produce new hair. Apart from the changes that you can make in your lifestyle to address the causes of your hair fall, there are also techniques out there that you can employ to permanently treat your problem, such as platelet rich plasma, mesotherapy, stem cell therapy, ozone activated platelet rich plasma & hair transplant.

lybrate-user, you have the solution to your problem. You MUST plan properly and take structures meditation and mind calming classes. Be with nature more often and appreciate the different faces of each vision. Nature is prefect even if no two things are alike. We should learn to be like nature, appreciative of the variations offered before us. Take ashwaandha and Brahmi as tonics. They will help you increase your mental tolerance. Great are the people who can smile at every variation in life. There is beauty and fun in it too. Try this approach.

You be use some natural methoes for this:- 1. Lemon juice: take a fresh lemon and cut it into half. Rub the juicy part on the scar. Lemon works as a natural bleach and thus, reduces the blemishes and scars. Drink lemon juice (without mixing sugar in it) twice a day for 15 days. 2. Rosehip seed oil: rosehip seed oil is used most commonly in cosmetics, especially in the scar removal creams. Take a few drops of rosehip seed oil on your fingers and gently massage it on the scars. Do this twice a day. It can be applied directly on the skin. 3. Ice cubes: ice cube is a very easy and simple home remedy for fading the scars. Take an ice cube and rub it gently on the scars. 4. Aloe vera: take an aloe vera leaf and cut it into half. Squeeze out the gel and apply it on the scar. 5. Tea tree oil: tea tree oil is a very effective natural remedy for removing scars. It works like a charm on scars. Make sure, you use the diluted tea tree oil. 6. Honey: apply honey on the scar. It works great in removing scars.

How Hair In Ears Is A Sign Of Warning?

MD - Dermatology, MBBS

How Hair In Ears Is A Sign Of Warning?

We all would have noticed that with age, hair growth along the earlobe crease is not something abnormal. We all have seen people who develop these as a part of ageing. There was nothing unusual about it at all. However, what is unusual is that science has found a very interesting correlation between heart attacks and hair on the ears.

Yes, it does sound very unusual, but there have been studies conducted which say that hair growth on the ears could be one of the first warning signs of the onset of coronary artery disease.

What is coronary artery disease?

The heart is a pump that sends out and receives blood from the rest of the body through a channel of highly interconnected blood vessels. The ones which carry pure blood to the rest of the body are known as arteries and the ones which collect impure blood and bring it to the heart are known as veins. Due to changing food patterns and sedentary lifestyle, there is a lot more fat in the body, which also travels through the blood. Due to their heavier nature, they settle along the walls of the blood vessels, thereby narrowing the blood vessel thickness and reducing the blood flow to the various organs. This is the onset of coronary artery disease.

Early Indicators of coronary artery disease:

  • Hair loss (often premature, either in the temple region or the crown)
  • Fatty deposits on the eyelids
  • Earlobe crease i.e people with diagonal earlobes are more likely to develop heart disease
  • Hair in the ears

The last two are interrelated, as hair growth in the ears is more common in people with diagonal ear lobes.

The next correlation is between testosterone and hair growth in the ears.

People with more testosterone in their bodies are more likely to develop body hair, including in the ears. Scientifically, it has been established that people with greater amounts of testosterone are more likely to develop heart disease. Interestingly, the correlation is stronger in younger age groups.

Another interesting fact is that though coronary artery disease is linked to the presence of ear hair in both men and women. However, sudden cardiac death was more common in men than in women. Both these had hair growth, though.

There is another group which dismisses this theory saying that with age, both hair growth and coronary artery disease are likely to develop, and there is no significant correlation between the two. However, if taken as an early warning sign, ear hair growth can definitely guide in taking preventive measures, which can help control the problem in its early stage, which is definitely welcome to improve the overall quality of life!

1.I'm a 23 year old guy. From 2011 I've fallen into depression after a breakup. Since I wanted to recover from the pain of breakup I'd started watching porn back at that time. 3 years later, I almost recovered from the breakup. Watching porn and masturbating since 2011 has become an addiction now. It has ruined my confidence, killed my sports life and my personal life, ruined my mental and physical health. It has almost reached a stance where I no longer feel any hope in life and I feel my life is worthless. 2. Also, the another problem I've been facing is since I'm too polite to people around me, I've been constantly knocked down, bullied and abused. No one has abused me physically but the verbal abuse is intolerable and I feel so shit about myself, I don't have any self respect left within me. I get offended at every single sarcastic comment and, I just feel worthless. I want to live a successful life, and I know I can. These are the things that hold me back. Please help.

My 5-year-old daughter has asthma. What is the effect of using an asthma preventer long-term? I heard that using it for years might cause bone shrinkage. Is it true?

MD-Pulmonology
Pulmonologist, Dehradun
Your concern is very genuine. Asthma preventer medications have some effect on bone density but in practice of medicine we have to judge the risk benefit ratio. The risk of uncontrolled asthma in this age group overweighs the risk of bone loss. The main aim of treatment of asthma is optimal control. Now this depends upon the stage of asthma and the decision on whether the preventer therapy is required regularly or or not. For this optimal control you need to consult chest physician asap.
