MBBS, DNB (Pediatrics)

7.8kg at 1 year is quite low for her age. It could be plain regurgitation or something more sinister. Before coming to conclusion more information will be needed. Consult a pediatrician or u can send private questions.

The only language newborns know is crying, crying. If he is gaining weight normally and active you don't have to worry about it. Burping: after each and evey feed try put him on your shoulder and burp him. Gas in the stomach will come out. Gas distension in the stomach may cause discomfort to the baby. Avoid spicy food while feeding. Check the mouth and tongue of the baby for mouth thrush (fungal infection -curd like layer) which may cause pain during feeding.

A defect in one of several genes that produce or distribute melanin causes albinism. The defect may result in the absence of melanin production, or a reduced amount of melanin production. The defective gene passes down from both parents to the child and causes albinism.Because the disease is genetic, there are no cures; treatment revolves around minimizing the symptoms and watching for changes. Getting the right care for eye problems is essential, including prescription glasses, dark glasses to protect the eyes from the sun and regular eye exams. It is also important to watch the skin for changes and to use sunblock to for protection. Surgery on the optical muscles can sometimes minimize the "shaking" in nystagmus. Similarly, operations to minimize strabismus can make it less noticeable. The surgery does not improve vision, however, and the level of success in reducing symptoms varies from individual to individual. Albinism does not get worse with age, and a child with albinism is able to flourish and achieve the same education and employment as a person without the condition.

Managing Asthma at Home!

MBBS
General Physician, Bangalore
Managing Asthma at Home!

1. It is important to gargle with warm water immediately after nebulization. This measure is intended to wash out the deposits of drugs that if allowed to stay within the oral cavity, will lead to hoarseness of voice and oral ulcers.

2. Following the gargle, drink 2 cups of warm water. This measure will wash out the drugs that is deposited during nebulization on the walls of the esophagus. Thus avoid esophageal irritation caused due to the drug deposited on the inner walls of the esophagus.

3. It will definately help to have a air purifier at home to monitor the particulate matter content in the ambience. This will also reduce the frequency of attacks and enable relatively clean air for the affected, creating comfortable indoors.

4. Take time out to teach children on how to apply the inhaler effectively so as to be able to self-help during acute asthmatic attacks. If available, adrenaline shots of 0.5 to 1 mg may be carried on them, so that in event of severe asthmatic attack, a subcutaneous shot of adrenaline is life saving.

5. Be aware of early signs of an attack, point out these early signs to asthmatic children so that they may stop their activity and take self-help measures.

6. Do not wait for ambulances to arrive in case anybody is in acute asthmatic attack, sit the person in upright position, give them multiple shots through pocket inhaler or start nebulisation with duolin +/- budecort, if the affected person is carrying a adrenaline shot - 1mg subcutaneous should be given on the deltoid of either upper limb of the person.

Hello, Baby cry when being put down on bed, being separated from her caregiver makes her feel that some thing is  different going on depriving her the affection of her mother. ▪how can she really ignore that she is being put down from the lap of her mother as she misses the softness of nature & body of her mother •smell of the body •breathing chest of her mother •the affectionate motherly touch as well. •here begins the  feeling of insecurity for the baby. ●Baby, misses  the temperature of the body of her mother waking her up while being put down. Henceforth, Baby should be wrapped up in a blanket while putting her down keeping her body warm. ●baby is not accustomed to pee or poop what she has to learn in due course of time so it's a natural phenomenon for an infants to cry while passing urine or stool. Your feedback matters ,please. The care.
