There is evidence that certain dietary supplements and vitamins can help with certain types of pain. Fish oil is often used to reduce pain associated with swelling. Topical capsaicin, derived from chili peppers, may help with arthritis, diabetic nerve pain, and other conditions. There's evidence that glucosamine can help relieve moderate to severe pain from osteoarthritis in the knee. Do reply back for private consultation. And detailed treatment plan.

Prevention from heart attack for a person who has multiple blockages in her heart, plus high diabetes and hypertension and thyroid?

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine, DM - Cardiology, Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS - Physician )
Cardiologist, Delhi
If she has blockages and with all these other illnesses, the first thing should be to get the blockages open either by stents or by surgery and continue with medications post that along with strict diabetes control. If you donot choose to get blockages addressed then she can continue on medical therapy but there is no reassurance that she will not have a heart attack.

Creatinine level gone up from 2-5 to 2-8 after glizis was added. Is this increase of creatinine 2.8 due to glizid. I am on KETOCHECK 3 TIMES SINCE FEB/16. I was given angioplasty at one place in Jan/16 and radiologically ok and stable.

Hi, I am from bengal. I want to consult a cardiologist for my mother feels tired after a bit of work, or when she goes upstairs. Sometimes she feels pain in her chest. She had vitamin d deficiency earlier. She has high pressure, but now it is under control with medication. Is it a case of angiogram?

Dear Lybrateuset, - Since your mother has hypertension & now she feels tired after normal activity, work & climbing stairs it is better to consult a cardiologist as she will require cardiac investigations & evaluation of functioning & state of blood vessels supplying the heart which may include an angiogram.

Please check if you are suffering from acidity and gas. This is one reason for heartburn which is almost like your current symptom. Drink plenty of water and eat your food slowly. Chew it properly. Add lots of fresh vegetables, sprouts, greens and raws to your diet to ensure your strength is good. Only exercise does not help if you cannot supplement with fresh, wholesome foods. Hope you are not eating packaged proteins or food supplements. In the long run, they are not good for health. A 2D Echo is an investigation that will give a report on your heart function.
