My wife suffers from pain originating from her shoulders to the whole of right hand. She had it checked and also went for physiotherapy and heat massages. She also takes Vitamin D as directed. But the pain is ever increasing and also the area effected is increasing. What could be the cause??

Cause could be the compression of the nerve traversing the arm from the neck. I would suggest you get an MRI done to know the exact cause and also to direct the therapy accordingly..

Exercise regularly including stretching, yoga and exercises by lying on back. Do not sit at one place for longer time, avoid bending and lifting heavy weight. Apply orthomove oil or orthomove ointment over back twice daily. If didn't re-leaved, you may need internal medication. Consult privately for any query.

Dear Lybrate User, You may be suffering from a clinical condition called PHIMOSIS. The most conventional method to get rid of it is surgery. However, if you are unwilling to undergo surgery then you can try the following process at home. 1) Buy Betamethasone cream from local allopathic shop. During buying you should check the composition of the cream to confirm whether it contains 0.05% Betamethasone in it. If you cannot find 0.05% Betamethasone cream then you can buy any local Anaesthetic Gel (e.g. Lidocaine, Lignocaine, Xylocaine) from allopathic retail shop. 2) Apply a little amount of that anaesthetic gel at the lower part of the prepuce of penis where the foreskin remains attached. 3) After application of the gel, retract the foreskin backwards as far as you can. Due to the anaesthetic property of the gel you will be able to retract the foreskin backwards to some extent more than you can do in normal condition. 4) Release the foreskin when you feel pain 5) Again repeat the same process. Do it continuously for at least 30 minutes in a day. Within a month you will feel that your foreskin has become loose

Hi = relax and stay positive. = increase fluid intake. = eat seasonal fruits for natural vitamins = do streching of hamstring, quadriceps, and calf muscles. = if you are overweight, reduce weight by cycling or swimming as it gives low impact on joints. = do check your calcium and vit. D = apply moist heat pad to affected joint and muscles. Best wishes.

Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings. Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. This will relieve your problem. Consult after 10 days.

Most common cause of both knee pain in old age is osteoarthritis (age related wear and tear of joints). She should avoid sitting on floor or squatting. Get a physiotherapy help to reduce pain and teach relevant exercises. But, it is better to get her checked up by an orthopaedician first to rule out other possibilities.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contact your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Why not discuss with me in a video conference? 1) do massage with warm sesame oil or suitable oil for 15 min. Afterwards take hot fomentation for 10 min. 2) start natural calcium supplement. 3) do regular stretching exercise 4) in yoga do bhujangasan, halasan & suryanamaskar.

Cause of cramps are many ,from dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, calcium ,vitamin D deficiency, B12 deficiency, circulatory issues etc. Consult a physician for tests. Do stretching exercises after oil massage of legs. Calcium,vitamin D, B12 supplementation, lots of water and fruit juice may prevent.

LOW BACK PAIN PHYSIO BALL EXERCISE DEAR, 1…. The exercise ball is an exercise treatment option for back pain sufferers and is designed to help prevent or minimize further episodes of low back pain as part of a rehabilitation program. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front.

1.. Go for fasting once a week. You can go for absolute fasting or rely on a liquid diet to digest ama (toxin). Fasting should be followed by hot fomentation or by taking a bath with lukewarm water or steam bath. 2.. After fasting and fomentation, mix powdered long pepper, black pepper and dried ginger in equal quantities and take 1 teaspoon of this powdered mix with lukewarm water twice a day. This will help you restore your digestive fire. 3.. Take one tablespoon of castor oil before going to bed, once or twice a week. It helps in cleansing ama (toxin) build up and balancing vata. 4.. Mix equal quantities of powdered fenugreek seeds, turmeric and ginger powder. Take one teaspoon daily in the morning and evening. 5.. For dry fomentation of the affected joints, take a cloth and fold it into four, fill it with hot and sand make a potli (bag) out of it. Use this bundle for the fomentation of different joints. This is very helpful in reducing pain and swelling.

My shoulder is dislocated for 4 times now, so which surgery should I undergo ?

It' s better to go for arthroscopy specialist who is skilled in shoulder surgery. Most probably arthroscopic repair will suffice but if you have bone loss of glenoid, then glenoid bone reconstruction by open procedure becomes necessary. Consult privately to know more about surgery.

A checkup of vit d and calcium levels. Heat fermentation twice a day. Avoid long standing. Do quadriceps exercise if it work then ok otherwise tk physiotherapy treatment best option for you.
