Dear Mr. lybrate-user, The symptoms that you have mentioned can definitely occur as a result of anxiety or depression. Considering the fact that your Echo and ECG are normal, anxiety /depression seems to be the most likely cause. You should seek a psychiatric consultation to undergo complete evaluation. Accordingly treatment can be initiated in form of medications or psychotherapy. Start doing relaxation exercises in a regular basis like meditation or deep breathing. I do hope that you are able to overcome your symptoms soon. Best wishes.

Have a glass of lukewarm water mixed with a teaspoon of honey first thing in the morning. At breakfast take a glass of milk mixed with a teaspoon of haldi. Do warm water mixed with salt gargles atleast twice a day. When you move out of the house use a mask to avoid dust & other pollutants. Valvular Heart Disease - 5 Reasons Behind it

DHMS
Homeopath, Mumbai
Valvular Heart Disease - 5 Reasons Behind it

There are valves in the each of the four chambers of the heart. These valves make sure that blood flows in one direction only. The blood flows from the atria into the ventricles through the mitral and the tricuspid valves. The pulmonic and the aortic valves allow the blood to flow out of the ventricles. Valve problems occur when the normal functioning of the valve is impaired.

Impaired valve function leads to blood flow obstruction, which in turn can lead to stenosis of the valve. This puts lot of strain on the heart muscles, forcing it to work harder. It may also lead to the blood flowing backwards through the valve and back into the heart.

The various causes of valvular heart disease are:

  1. Valvular heart disease: If you are suffering from rheumatic fever, it may lead to valvular heart disease
  2. Congenital heart disease: Congenital heart disease refers to various defects in the heart which are present since birth. In some cases, these defects may include being born with abnormal valves.
  3. Heart attack: If you have suffered a heart attack, your heart muscles may be damaged or impaired.
  4. Cardiomyopathy: This is a genetic disorder that is characterized by an inability of the heart to pump blood efficiently.
  5. Age: Ageing may cause certain changes in the body that lead to valvular heart disease.

Valvular heart disease is treated by various homeopathic remedies that do not have any side effect. It takes a holistic approach to healing the body as it gets to the root of the disease. The various homeopathic remedies for valvular heart disease are:

  1. Cactus grandiflorus: This remedy is used in a number of heart complications such as stenosis of the valve. It helps in getting rid of the inflammation in the heart muscles, so that the heart can pump blood efficiently.
  2. Digitalis: Digitalis is another remedy that helps in healing the muscles of the heart by regulating the pulse.
  3. Kalmia latifolia: Kalmia latifolia is a homeopathic remedy that is used in treating various complications of the heart. It also helps in symptoms of rheumatic fever that may lead to valvular heart disease. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a homeopath.

Dear lybrate-user, If you and your wife are suffering from similar problems, it is most likely to be the food you are eating, as that will be common for you two. Go on a pure veg, boiled food diet for few days. Eat lots of vitamins in fruit. Apply glycerin on areas that have dryness or blisters to help. Regards.

I am 25 years women I was suffering from headache and eye plain. I also have low bp.

MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
Low bp, and myopia or hypermetropia are included in one of the main causes of headache. Apart from that you are also suffering from migraine. In my opinion drink approx 4 ltrs of water a day and ors sachet 1sachet in 1litre of water sos to avoid low bp situation thus avoiding headache. For migraine pain, whenever you feel that pain has started, start taking tablet brufen twice a day for 3 days, tablet rantac empty stomach for 3 days, tablet ondem sos if pain is associated with vomiting. To reduce it's duration and frequency ask your nearest physician for tablet like beta cap plus which can be given after thorough examination, and also get screened up for eye disease.

I am male, 74 years, 62 kg. Was told that there was 'murmur' in heart during routine checkup 12 years ago. 'Echo gram' then indicated 'mild' prolapse of Mitral valve. Four years later, echo indicated moderate MVP. One month ago, echo reveals moderate to severe eccentric jet mitral regurgitation, anterior and posterior mitral leaflet appear thickened, healed vegetation attached to anterior mitral leaflet? Flail posterior mitral leaflet? Mitral annular calcification, Aortic valve sclerosis, trivial aortic regurgitation, no significant aortic stenosis, trivial tricuspid regurgitation, no significant pulmonary arterial hypertension. Normal BP and lipid profile. Not diabetic. No symptoms till recently. However, now feel slightly breathless when I take stairs for 2 floors or when I walk for more than 1 km or do anything strenuous. What is prognosis? Is there medication for this condition. Would prefer to avoid surgery for valve repair or replacement. Your advice. Am on Ecosprin 75, Dynapres 0.4 and 5 mg Atorva only.

Dear Lybrateuser, - Since you have symptoms of breathlessness, it indicates that your problem has deteriorated over a period of time - the valvular defects which impede the effective closure & opening of valves may require surgery - take the advise of your cardiologist as corrective treatment given will improve your life quality & you will be able to perform your regular daily activities easily.
