Controlling the risk factors and adopting a healthier lifestyle can make a big difference when it comes to improving lipid profile. (1.(EAT SENSIBLY: Avoid saturated fats and trans-fats as they raise the bad cholesterol level (LDL). Check the labels of food items before consuming them and avoid anything that is “partially hydrogenated” as this is a clear indicator that it contains trans-fat. Cut out red meat from your diet and add fruits and vegetables instead. (2.) CHOOSE THE RIGHT OIL (3) WALK / EXERCISE (4) Keep BODY WEIGHT IN CONTROL (5) DESTRESS your self (5) Abstain from SMOKING completely (6) AVOID simple SUGARS (7) Do some recreational activity or follow your hobby daily for half an hour (8) Spend less time with gadgets like laptop / mobile / TV If you need help with a customized diet plan to improve your lipid picture, please contact us directly.

Dear lybrate-user A few suggestions to help your Father feel better. Apply turmeric in ghee on lips to keep them soft and clear the infection in natural way. Add coconut oil in his diet. About 2 big spoons. This will help reduce the heat caused from meds. Help soften bowel movement and also keep his digestion proper. Make sure he has every opportunity to interact with other people his age and walk as much as he can. Keeping the mind engaged will help his health at all levels. Regulate his diet such that he had adequate vegetables and fruit. Usually older people eat only rice or soft carbs and this is not enough. Replace all wheat foods with jowari or other mullets of your choice. This will improve health (for every body) in a great way. Regards.

Dear Please help your father take a strong purgative like castor oil. Once his digestive system has got rid of bad unhealthy food, make sure he goes on a soup diet for few days to help digestive system come to order. He shows typical symptoms of severe pitta and needs to make a total change in food habits. Exercise. Plenty of water throughout the day and totally avoid spicy, salty, ppackaged stale food if he wants to get better. Regards

Eating a healthy, balanced diet that's low in saturated fats can reduce your level of LDL (bad cholesterol). Try to avoid or cut down on the following foods, which are high in saturated fat: fatty cuts of meat and meat products, such as sausages and pies butter, ghee and lard cream, soured cream, crème fraîche and ice cream cheese, particularly hard cheese cakes and biscuits milk chocolate coconut oil, coconut cream and palm oil The government recommends that a maximum of 11% of a person's food energy should come from saturated fat. This equates to no more than: 30g of saturated fat a day for the average man 20g of saturated fat a day for the average woman Children should have less. Check the labels on the foods you're eating to find out how much saturated fat you're consuming. Read more about the saturated fat guidelines. Omega-3 fatty acids Many experts believe that the fats found in avocados and oily fish, such as mackerel, salmon and tuna, are good for you. These are known as omega-3 fatty acids and high doses can improve (lower) triglyceride levels in some people. However, too much omega-3 fatty acids can contribute to obesity. For people with a high triglyceride level, at least two portions of oily fish a week is thought to be beneficial. However, there's no evidence that taking omega-3 fatty acid supplements has the same benefit.

Hello Doctor I'm 30 year old male. I had recently experienced chest pain. Undergone treatment and ecg but the results were normal. How can I know that the pain is due to angina or gastric problem.

Hello Doctor I'm 30 year old male. I had recently experienced chest pain. Undergone treatment and ecg but the result...
1. Your age is one factor that you r unlikely to have an angina unless you have risk factors like smoking alcoholism high cholesterol hypertension obesity etc 2. The angina usually felt like a tightness in centre of chest with radiating pain to left arm. 3. Gastritis pain is relieved by taking antacids or other home remedy for acidity. 4. Always consult near by centre with an ecg facility in case you have doubt. 5. Live healthy and stop worrying.
