Dear sir
I AM taking insulin morning 45units and night 35 units
Present report fasting sugar 190 and after meals 305
...
Mr. The blood sugar readings show that diabetes is not in control. When in control fasting should be near 100 mg, pp should be 150 to 160 mg and hba1c% <7. Achieving good sugar control is absolutely essential, otherwise various long term complications of diabetes will start appearing much early. This condition affects glucose, fat and protein metabolism. Plus small and large blood vessels, this affects eyes, (retina), kidneys, nerves, lower limbs and heart. So please see that your sugar levels are well controlled.

Hi lybrate-user, do not feel bad its not an awkward problem, this problem treatment depends on how your symptoms affect your life. There are four types of treatment for stress incontinence: -behavior changes -medicine -pelvic floor muscle training -surgery drink less fluid (if you drink more than normal amounts of fluid). Do not hold it. Urinate when you first feel the urge. This may help reduce the amount of urine that leaks. Avoid jumping or running. Take fiber to avoid constipation, which can make urinary incontinence worse. Quit smoking. This can reduce coughing and bladder irritation. Smoking also increases your risk for bladder cancer. Avoid alcohol and caffeinated drinks such as coffee. They can cause the urge to urinate. Lose excess weight. Avoid foods and drinks that may irritate your bladder. These include spicy foods, carbonated drinks, and citrus. If you have diabetes, keep your blood sugar under good control. Apart from this do kegels exercise. If any doubt ask me. Do not ever feel bad.

As you know smoking is injurious to health so if you can leave it it requires simple will power I think you have bit try it hard initially it will be difficult but at the end you are the winner. And about the red colour but one you must be taking less of water required by your body the colour of urine you are having due to concentration of urine. Best to be getva urine test done but have plenty of water by mouth it will be alright.

My wife with bilateral renal parenchymal disease, pls suggest it's a curable with medicines.
The management totally depends on the degree and extent of disease. The presence of any other comorbidities and complications. One of the most important factors is the cause of disease. Surely, the progression of disease can be controlled and it's effects managed, but again the treatment is a multi pronged approach.

Don't consider this to be a simple UTI as the creatinine levels are raised you need to be more concerned to check whether there is any diabetic or hypertensive nephropathy causing in raised creatinine levels. However you said because of the shooted BP she got paralyzed hence this might be the reason for altered kidney function also hence don't neglect and use home medication and instead consult your doctor and get diagnosed and treated accordingly. If you need any further advise please write back to me in detail.

Did You Know These Facts About Kidney Transplant?

Did You Know These Facts About Kidney Transplant?

A kidney transplant is a procedure that employs an operation to transplant properly functioning kidney in the body. The main job of the kidneys is to remove the excess waste from a person’s body with the help of a filtration process. When the kidneys stop filtering the toxins properly, they become diseased as harmful waste products and toxins begin to accumulate in the body. Following this, the patient has to go through treatment measures like dialysis or kidney transplant.

Read on to know the five things you should keep in mind about a kidney transplant.

  1. Treatment: Transplant is one of the best ways to treat chronic kidney disease stage-V, until unless it is contraindicated. Life becomes near normal after transplant, though there is a possibility of rejection of transplant kidney. Patient has to take immunosuppressive medication life long.
  2. Medication: Medications are mainly for:
    1. To prevent rejection: Patient takes immunosuppressive medications life long.
    2. Prevention of infection: Patient has to take care all the measures to prevent infections as they are more prone to infections.
    3. Other medication: To control diabetes, HTN etc.
  3. Family Only: The donors are from family or emotionally related or cadavers (after brain death). HLA-matched donors are better because of less chances of rejections and first reduction of immunosuppressive.
  4. Doing Your Part: Once transplant is done - patient becomes normal and he/she lives a normal life. However, they have to take regular medications and to protect themselves from various infection.
  5. End Stage Renal Diseases: These diseases includes diabetes mellitus, HTN, polycystic kidney disease, chronic glomerulonephritis or interstitial nephritis etc.

Consult your Nephrologist before going for renal transplant for detailed check up or line of action.

My both kidney is not working doc has said me for dialysis is there would be any risk or any risk after dialysis I will face pl tell Me is there is chance of deed after kidney dialysis.

MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
There are certain things that you need to be careful about after your dialysis. Visit your nephrologists immediately if you have any of the following signs or symptoms: 1. If you develop a fever after dialysis. 2. You do not feel a buzzing sensation in your fistula or graft. 3. Your skin itches or you have a rash. 4. Blood soaks through your bandage. 5. Skin around the fistula or graft is painful, hot, red or swollen 6. Your breathing fast or have a fast heartbeat 7. You have sudden chest pain or trouble breathing 8. You are having severe vomiting. You will have to limit potassium, phosphorus, sodium (salt), and liquid. You will need more protein than you did before you started dialysis. It may be hard to eat enough food. Your dietitian may suggest that you add extra calories if you are losing weight. Ask your dietitian for more information about a dialysis diet.
