Wearing tight inners and tight dress cause neck and back pain? What is the remedy? I like to wear dresses very tight and skinny. But I didn't feel comfortable while I lie n bed and using Mobile. I feel very compressed by the dresses. I don't want wear loose clothes. I like to wear fit clothes. But it doesn't make me to feel comfortable while sleeping. It causes neck and back pain. Hi, I'm 30 years old now but my weight is only 40 kgs. This is my great problem. I'm married have 2 kids. Both deliveries were cesarean n have done my family planning too. Instead of having 3 meals have 6-7 small meals. Slowly increase your intake of food. Have proteins, carbs and healthy fats. Have protein shakes and smoothies. Eat plenty of fresh fruits. Avoid maida items. Have fruit juices, eggs, chicken, fish, meat, green veggies in plenty. Eat in big plates and have big portions. For a customized diet plan you can contact me privately.

I am a 85 year old retired plastic surgeon with a backache all the time. I have to depend on tablets. Is there any other treatment?

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You know that over a period of time, spine shows a lot of degeneration and this pain can be due to them. Ideally we should evaluate you clinically and get respective investigations like dynamic x rays and if required mri scans done of the affected region of spine to understand the cause of pain and accordingly treatment can be prescribed. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you for 5-7 days - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home, now a days laser therapies are available which give good relief from pain - epidural injections are good alternative and can be administered in indicated cases - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application like dynapar qps spray can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back, mri scan of involved area and few blood tests for evaluation. What Are The Causes Which Leads To Premature Graying?

Premature gray hairs haven’t spared even celebrities. An American reality television personality, Kylie Kristen Jenner at the age of 18 has discovered her first gray hair. Her belief is that it may be hereditary as her elder sister also experienced gray hair at the age of 20. The premature graying of hair has become quite common now and is increasing at an alarming rate.

Insight on Premature Graying        

Colour producing cells produce pigments. If it stops, your hair becomes gray. Ideally, it’s a natural process with age, where the pigment production declines.

Ideal Age of Graying Hairs

Usually, Asians develop gray hair during the late 30s, while whites develop it in mid 30s. So, by the time you reach 50, you have enough of gray hairs. If anyone experiences graying prior to this age, it can be declared as premature.

Causes

Although reasons are not clearly known, common causes could be genetics, smoking habits, your diet and vitamins.

  • Hormonal imbalance, be it hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism, may lead to ageing.

  • Another reason could be your level of bone density as well as it is related to your activity level, weight, height as well as ethnicity.

  • Deficiency of vitamin B-12 leads to pernicious anemia, where production of red blood cells decreases. This leads to thinning and graying of hairs.

  • Deficiency of vitamins C and E reduce antioxidants in the body, thereby, increasing free radical activity. Hence, ageing process accelerates.

  • Deficiency of vitamins B5 and B9 also accelerates the ageing process as these help in the utilisation of protein in the body. Lack of vitamin B9 leads to decrease in the number of red blood cells and deoxyribonucleic acid.

  • Lack of zinc and copper could also lead to graying of hair.

  • Pituitary or thyroid gland problems can cause premature graying, which can be corrected with measures.

  • Smoking is one of the sources of free development of radicals in your body, which cause oxidative stress. This may lead to decline in the pigmenting capacity and melanin, which result in graying of hairs.

  • Consumption of junk food and processed food may increase oxidative stress and deposition of Advanced Glycation End products. This accelerates aging.

Lifestyle  plays an important role in one’s life. It’s all about your appearance. Graying of hair symbolises ageing irrespective of your actual age. Of course, if it’s due to genetic factors, one cannot help it other than experience it. However, other factors are avoidable and treatable. Dear User, acidity and dietetic error needs serious control by self else the problem take new form. FOr now use Natrum Phos 6x tabs thrice a day for 5 days and consult back for proper treatment and management.

Low blood pressure on its own will not cause any problem for your wellbeing. so you need not worry much about it. at the most you may feel giddy when you sit up from bed and stand up from sitting position. to avoid that, those two movements should be gradual and not suddent. as for food, any type of food which is normally cooked in the house is good enough. you increase your salt intake. no need for any extra salt. as it is Indian cooking contains more than sufficient salt, so no need for any addition. 6 common mistakes most women make that endanger their breast health

Good breast health is very necessary for a woman to avoid the risks of getting breast diseases, most particularly breast cancer. But there are some common mistakes most women make without knowing that they contribute to the threats of breast diseases. Read on to know which common habits may be bad for your breast health and what lifestyle alterations you can make to avoid them.

1. Not taking requisite care of your breasts with increasing age

The chances of developing diseases like breast cancer increase with age, especially as you enter the 40s and 50s. Most women don't consider their chronological age with requisite seriousness and this can expose them to higher risks of breast diseases. As you hit 40, you should sincerely make it a habit to get regular clinical exams to maintain proper breast health.

2. Not considering an annual mammogram

An x-ray of the breasts is known as a mammogram which is usually performed to detect premature symptoms of breast cancer. Studies reveal that a large number of women do not consider getting an annual mammogram done even after the age of 40. Experts are of the opinion that this can be threatening to your breast health as a delay of even a few months can result in developed and undetected breast cancer symptoms. So, it is recommended that after entering your 40s get a mammogram done after every year.

3. Not keeping track of your weight

According to researchers, women who have bmi (body mass index) more than 25 are considered obese and have greater chances of developing breast diseases in comparison to women having a balanced weight. The risk rises due to increase in the formation of oestrogen caused by the greater number of fat cells. Increased level of oestrogen is responsible for the growth of 'hormone-receptor-positive' type of breast cancer. You should try to eat healthy and regularly monitor your weight to avoid obesity.

4. Avoiding exercise

Avoiding exercise can have adverse effects on your breast health. Studies prove that women who exercise for about 4 to 7 hours every week have lower chances of developing breast diseases. This is due to the fact that regular workout ensures limited blood levels of the hormone 'insulin growth factor' which significantly influences the growth and behaviour of breast cells. So, start exercising from today to stay fit and maintain proper breast health.

5. Drinking too much alcohol

Regular consumption of alcohol increases risks of breast cancer as it causes damage to the DNA in cells. Moreover, it raises levels of oestrogen and other hormones responsible for triggering 'hormone-receptor-positive' breast cancer. You can avoid this risk by keeping your alcohol consumption to moderate levels and reserved for special occasions.

6. Exposing yourself to too many chemicals in the form of cosmetics

Most women use too many cosmetic products containing certain chemicals that increase their chances of developing breast diseases. This happens because often these chemicals tend to disturb the hormonal balance of the body by mimicking or blocking certain hormones.

Gain weight and make fit will be possible with combined action of diet and exercise. Increase the intake of energy and protein with exercise then you will get increase in muscle mass and your weight will increase. Include good protein sources (Egg, Chicken, Mutton etc, Milk, Pulses, Legumes and Beans) in diet to reach the daily requirement. And include two fruit portions daily and before one hour and after one hour of your exercise include protein rich snacks. Take at least 2 to 3 liter water. In between meals maintain at least 2 to 3 hours gap. Be regular in exercise. These all thing we can say in general and person to person plan will vary. Before exercise also include easily absorbable energy source like fruit juices with your protein rich snacks. In between exercise sips the water, don't gulp as such and after exercise once your heart rate come to normal take sufficient water.

This will not take care of infection although I don't know how you got to know about the infection in rt lung - must be an x ray report. Also for sinus problem, Zandu Balm will give relief but not control or cure. Approach a good doctor and get yourself evaluated. All d best.
