You need plenty of calcium for your teeth. It is essential for the teeth as well as your bones. It is better to drink milk, fortified orange juice and to eat yogurt, broccoli, cheese, and other dairy products. You can also take a calcium supplement, taking different doses according to your age and necessity as per prescription. Calcium and Vitamin D are necessary for maintaining the health of gums and teeth. Vitamin B complex is also essential for the protection of gums and teeth from cracking and bleeding. Copper, zinc, iodine, iron and potassium are also required for maintaining healthy dental hygiene.

Hello Doctor, I have additional half teeth attached with a teeth and that half teeth has cavities. So is there any treatment for that or I have to consult dentist to remove that teeth?

Usually we do not advise fillings or other restorative treatment for extra (supernumerary) teeth, unless they are going to serve some useful purpose in the overall dental rehabilitation of the patient. So, the usual advise would be extraction, but, the actual plan would only be suggested after a clinical evaluation by your dentist.

Q1. Hi, I am aged 33. I do have 4 unused tooth in all the four edges lower and upper. The upper two tooth started decaying slowly and the lower tooth's often filled by food particles. I am planning to remove all the four tooth. Could you please advise on that? Q2. I am suffering from bad odour I am doubting it is due to the decayed tooth. Q3. I would also like to do deep cleaning of my teeth. Any suggestions on that? What is the time interval that I can go for deep cleaning for the next time?

Hello Lybrate user, from question I can infer that you are talking about your third molars or wisdom teeth. Yes, they are quite notorious, they are of no use, they doesn't erupt properly and are more prone to caries (decay). So it is very good idea to remove them. There can be numerous reason for foul smell from your mouth most common is poor oral hygiene i.e. The plaque and calculus deposited over teeth surface. So I would recommend If you are not in pain due to your third molar do this deep cleaning first and in the next week you can undergo the procedure to remove the third molar. Also start by brushing twice daily and using a good mouthwash for a month. Hope this helps.

As per your reports you have used desi siting toothpaste but have no relief. You may have enamel erosion because of bruxism, hard brushing, age and had any orthodontic treatment before. Consult a nearby dentist for laminating or veneering for permanent relief. Brush regularly two times daily. Rinse your mouth after each meal.
