It should serve as a warning to public that Drs cannot guarantee good results. Sensible people do not believe everything they are told by Drs, they keep their eyes open. Best to learn the ways of people who are 90 and healthy, I find it quite funny that people who have never studied biology, are suffering from poor health themselves, confidentially keep forwarding WhatsApp nonsense about health to their family and friends.

I have had orthostatic hypotension since 5 years .it was of sudden onset without any cause im right now 20 years old, recently I went to a cardiologist and he did 2 ECGs, doppler echo, thyroid function test, adrenal test and glucose test, TLC,DLC, Asotitre and all came back perfectly normal. My BMI is 20.9,BP at sitting position remains below 120/80, im not alcoholic and does not have any wrong habits. Why the hell I have orthostatic hypotension even my dad with LVH and diabetes does not have this condition, its completely weird for me to have it.

MBBS, Dip.Cardiology, Fellowship in Clinical Cardiology(FICC), Fellowship in Echocardiology
Cardiologist, Ghaziabad
Orthostatic hypotension is caused by a sudden change in body position. This occurs most often when you shift from lying down to standing. This type of low blood pressure usually lasts only a few seconds or minutes. If this type of low blood pressure occurs after eating, it is called postprandial orthostatic hypotension. Certain medicines and substances can lead to low blood pressure, including: Alcohol Anti-anxiety medicines Certain antidepressants Diuretics Heart medicines, including those used to treat high blood pressure and coronary heart disease Medicines used for surgery Painkillers Other causes of low blood pressure include: Nerve damage from diabetes Changes in heart rhythm (arrhythmias) Not drinking enough fluids (dehydration) Heart failure Lower than normal blood pressure in a healthy person that does not cause any symptoms often does not need treatment. Otherwise, treatment depends on the cause of your low blood pressure and your symptoms. When you have symptoms from a drop in blood pressure, sit or lie down right away. Then raise your feet above heart level. If medicines are the cause, you may need to change the dosage or switch you to a different drug. DO NOT stop taking any medicines before talking to your doctor. Certain steps to prevent or reduce your symptoms including: Drinking more fluids, increasing salt in your diet Getting up slowly after sitting or lying down Not drinking alcohol Using compression stockings so blood does not collect in the legs You've probably heard that high blood pressure is a problem. Sometimes blood pressure that is too low can also cause problems. Blood pressure is the force of your blood pushing against the walls of your arteries. Each time your heart beats, it pumps out blood into the arteries. Your blood pressure is highest when your heart beats, pumping the blood. This is called systolic pressure. When your heart is at rest, between beats, your blood pressure falls. This is the diastolic pressure. Your blood pressure reading uses these two numbers. Usually they're written one above or before the other, such as 120/80. If your blood pressure reading is 90/60 or lower, you have low blood pressure. Some people have low blood pressure all the time. They have no symptoms and their low readings are normal for them. In other people, blood pressure drops below normal because of a medical condition or certain medicines. Some people may have symptoms of low blood pressure when standing up too quickly. Low blood pressure is a problem only if it causes dizziness, fainting or in extreme cases, shock. Certain medicines and substances can lead to low blood pressure, including: * Alcohol * Anti-anxiety medicines * Certain antidepressants * Diuretics * Heart medicines, including those used to treat high blood pressure and coronary heart disease * Medicines used for surgery * Painkillers Other causes of low blood pressure include: * Nerve damage from diabetes * Changes in heart rhythm (arrhythmias) * Not drinking enough fluids (dehydration) * Heart failure You can do a few things to prevent low blood pressure * Drinking more fluids * Getting up slowly after sitting or lying down * Not drinking alcohol * Not standing for a long time * Using compression stockings so blood does not collect in the legs Get these test done to find cause of blood pressure problems tests include Thyroid functions, ECG, ECHO.
