I was admitted about 2 months ago due to depression. I have gone through ECG. TMT.all is normal. But sometimes Pain is there in the chest. I also have gastric PROBLEM... I am afraid of HEART PROBLEM. .or it may be gastric. Sometimes it feels there is no energy.

Hello. If all your Physical investigations are normal so far, there is more than a certain possibility that you are suffering from anxiety disorder or depression (in clinical Psychiatry sense not in terms of day to day language) So you need to consult a Psychiatrist in person to get better.

Weight loss will help him solve most of the problems. Ask him to follow a healthy diet & lifestyle regimen. He should increase his physical activity level. Regular 1 hr brisk walk in morning will be good. Having small frequent meals at regular intervals instead of 3-4 large ones is essential. He should eat slowly & chew food well. Take stairs instead of lift & walk instead of hiring transport. Avoid junk/ processed/ packaged/ sugary/ fired foods, soft & hard drinks, refined carbs (sugar, potato, white rice, sabudana, jaggery, honey, noodles, white bread, biscuit, cake). Instead have plenty of whole fruits & vegetables. Include whole grains (atta, dalia, suji, jowar, bajra, barley, oats, brown rice) vitamin d- sunlight exposure between 12-2 for 20 mins, shiitake mushrooms, fatty fish, cod oil capsule (2 daily post meal). Uric acid- avoid seafood, chicken. Include low fat dairy (curd, buttermilk, lassi, channa, milk). Not more than 1 bowl pulse a day. Maintain optimal body weight. Cholesterol- weight loss, avoid- yolk portion of egg, red meat, saturated fats, trans fats, fried foods.

Love Your Heart - 15 Ways You Can Keep it Healthy

Let's understand the function of our heart and how to keep it healthy! Our heart is a muscular organ, located just behind and slightly left of the breast bone. It pumps blood through the network of arteries and veins called the cardiovascular system.

The heart has four chambers:

  1. The right atrium receives blood from the veins and pumps it to the right ventricle.
  2. The right ventricle receives blood from the right atrium and pumps it to the lungs, where it is loaded with oxygen.
  3. The left atrium receives oxygenated blood from the lungs and pumps it to the left ventricle.
  4. The left ventricle (the strongest chamber) pumps oxygen rich blood to the rest of the body. The left ventricle’s vigorous contractions create our blood pressure. The foods you eat, the amount of activity you do as well as your lifestyle can dramatically affect the overall health of your heart along with many other tissues that make up your cardiovascular system. Unhealthy eating habits can lead to various Heart Disorders.

Let’s look at the ways to keep it healthy!

  1. Healthy mind healthy body, so it is important that you take peaceful 7 to 8 hours of sleep.
  2. Keep yourself out of stress, involve yourself in regular some stress buster activities.
  3. Keep a check on your Blood Pressure.
  4. Cut your saturated fat intake and make an effort to check the ingredients of your intake. Too much of bad cholesterol can clog the heart and arteries with dangerous plaque.
  5. Keep a control on your blood sugar level.
  6. Exercise at least 30 minutes a day, if you're doing nothing, do something and if you're doing something, do extra.
  7. Eat more fruit and less fruit juice.
  8. Control obesity and keep your body mass index(BMI) in controlled level to be fit.
  9. Quit smoking as soon as you can and get yourself into having something else that you like at regular intervals, which is healthy.
  10. Cut your calorie intake and cut your sugar sweetened soda and keep check on all your sweet temptations.
  11. Eat lot of Seafood.
  12. Find ways to keep yourself happy and out of worries, be with lively people.
  13. Breathe slowly and deeply for a few minutes a day.
  14. Get yourself into Yoga.
  15. Keep a regular check of your hearth health under your doctor’s guidance. 

Leave aside all your worries! Have a Healthy Heart and a Healthy Life!

Hi. I understand your concerns. You will need to undergo a detailed examination and investigations like chest x ray to look for infection. If it's normal then you will need to undergo pulmonary function test which is needed for diagnosis and also to assess severity of bronchitis based on which treatemnt can be started. Consult a pulmonologist for the same. Hope your questions were answered. Thanks.

I am 39 years old male, my lipid profile test result are given below. High triglycerides and cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Change life style .do meditation,yoga, Go walk daily, do any one physically activity daily i.e.play any game., Avoid fast foods,oily foods,junk foods,alcohol,smoking,fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress,take plenty of water in day time. And 1 glass of water before bed at night. use flax oil, omega-3 fatty meal or cap., take .green veg., whole grain. Garlic,. Cod liver oil. Take anti cholesterol medicines . Cap. Ecosprin gold-10 at night daily.

3 blockages with stents to open them is a temporary solution, that is getting replaced with open heart surgery since technique is advanced and mortality rate due to heart surgeries has gone down remarkably, it is only fear factor, that helps the doctor put 3 stents instead of suggesting surgeries done by surgeons, but stents are fitted by physicians! 35-40% ejection fraction ef is sort of okay, we have seen people with as low as 20% getting operated and coming back home' recovered'

Yes it may happen, depend upon chronocity of hypertension & associated diseases. Take proper medicine & go for ecg after 2 weeks.

Dietary and other lifestyle changes can help you control and prevent high blood pressure. Eating a diet that is rich in whole grains, fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy products and skimps on saturated fat and cholesterol can lower your blood pressure by up to 14 mm hg. This eating plan is known as the dietary approaches to stop hypertension (dash) diet. Get plenty of potassium, which can help prevent and control high blood pressure. Eat less saturated fat and total fat. If you're overweight, losing even 3 kgs can lower your blood pressure. Strive for at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day. I being a both a registered dietitian (rd) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. I have constant burning type sensation in my chest. I have tried drinking hot water and tea but no effect. I think it is congestion but how should I get rid of it? Or is it something else? And for your information I do smoke but not a chain smoker.

Hi Mixing two teaspoonfuls of ghee in a glassful of milk and taking this once a day acts as a liner inside the gut and will heal all the destruction caused by the high flow of Pitta. Take pranacharya aceno syrup 2-2 tsf twice a day. Take pranacharya aceno capsule 1-1 twice a day. And avipattikar churna 1-1 gm with warm water. Take pranacharya udar bhaskar kshar churna twice a day with warm water. Take fresh butter milk empty stomach. Avoid tea. Coffee.spicy food. Junk food.

Eat your food at least 1 hour before you go to sleep and also make sure you are eating light food, plenty of water no spices, no fried food and you are chewing your food properly before swallowing. You symptom is typically of indigestion causing heart burns (a kind of acidity attack). Do not rush in life. A good sleep is essential to maintain proper stamina, performance and stable health.
