Dear user. FERTILE PHASE is the phase of a female's menstrual cycle when an egg (ovule) is released from the ovaries. In humans, ovulation occurs about midway through the menstrual cycle, after the follicular phase. The few days surrounding ovulation (from approximately days 10 to 18 of a 28 day cycle), constitute the most fertile phase. So if you have ejaculatory sexual inter course from day 10 from the first day of period and to day 20, the chances of pregnancy are much more. There are many determinants of pregnancy. You should be sexually matured. Your partner should be sexually matured. The period of your partner should be in the fertile stage. Her egg and your sperm cells should healthy enough. Then her uterus should be capable to get conceived. If all these were satisfied, the pregnancy could be a result. Take care.

Hello doctor I am 27 years old on 20 march I delivered a baby through c section in that faced high bp with facial weakness and now it been more than a month I felt very much depressed most time I suffer from migraine and feel like crying and small things make me upset alot I cnt explain how I am feeling now like I dnt wanna live there is no one for me extremely pathetic I feel I lost my hunger and sleep. please help me what to do.

MBBS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology

lybrate-user this is very normal and is called postpartum depression, as suddenly you start feeling restricted due to C-section or post delivery care for your own self ,apart from the responsibility of a newly born. You will soon get over with it ,don't worry and instead feel the joy of recently acquired status of mother hood, as it's just you who will have to bear through all of this strongly and positively. Father's have a little role to play here, as neither are they restricted nor they have to feed the baby, but they can be there with you for all the emotional and moral support, and also can help you with the babies nappies and waking up on babies calls. Hope this small advise of mine will push you to more positivity now, TC.

After miscarriage 3 months gap is enough for body to recover from weakness. Sometimes after miscarriage it may take time in conceiving, you should start doing regular exercise as it will enhance fertility, also take adequate nutritious diet and try conceiving during fertile period.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology

U already have many retention cysts, so it is unlikely to get pregnancy in this cycle. You should abandon this cycle and next menses you need to get baseline scan done to find out presence of these cysts before you start treatment.

Is it safe to consume I pill in a span of 3 months? Are there any other safer alternatives of emergency contraceptives.

PG Diploma in Emergency Medicine Services (PGDEMS), Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), MD - Alternate Medicine
Ayurveda, Ghaziabad
It cannot be used as a regular contraceptive method and is quite unhealthy if taken more than twice a month. 3. The pill is to be taken soon after unprotected sex. It should be taken preferably within 24 hours and before 72 hours or else the pill may turn useless.

I want to know which time is perfect time to be pregnant for a Girl? Please advice.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
A girl is most fertile at the time of ovulation, (when an egg is released from your ovaries) which usually occurs 12-14 days before your next period starts. This is the time of the month when she is most likely to get pregnant. It is unlikely she will get pregnant just after her period, although it can happen.

I am married. I have 2 years old child. I have thyroid and thin wall right ovarian cyst measuring 80*60 MM. Do I need to do operation for cyst or it is curable my medicine. Please help me.

Gynaecologist, Jalandhar
Your cyst is too big to disappear spontaneously, chances are very less but still if you are having no problem, you can wait for a month or so, the cyst seems to be simple and can be easily removed With laparoscope.

Meri Wife Ko Monthly 4-7 Ko Periods Lagte Hain To Kaunsi Dates Ko Avoid Karna Chahiye ki wo pregnant naa ho?

PG Diploma in YOGA, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), MD - Ayurveda

Safe period is calculated on the basis of cycle duration. Day 1 is first day of the period start. If monthly cycle is regular each month and of 30 days, then day 8 to 18 is unsafe for sex and of them day 11-16 is most unsafe. Other days are usually safe for sex.

You have to mention your menstrual history. If you have history of missaed period, then first go for pregnancy test if it shows +ve, you have to run to gynaec as there are all the chances of you having ectopic preg. All depends upon your menstrual history.

IVF - How Does it Work?

IVF - How Does it Work?

In vitro fertilisation, commonly known as IVF, is the process of fertilising single or multiple eggs outside the body. This treatment can be performed by either using your own egg and sperm or using donated egg or sperm or sometimes both. The resulting sperms and eggs are evaluated for quality and then one or more of them are positioned properly in the uterus through the cervix. IVF is regarded as one of the most commonly opted treatment plans, and it accounts for more than 99% of assisted reproductive technology processes.

Who are suitable for IVF?
IVF can be helpful for you in case you have some issues with the egg quality or ovulation, fallopian tubes that are blocked in some way or endometriosis. It can also help you get pregnant if your partner has problems with mortality and reduced sperm count and when you have opted for donor eggs. About 1.5% of babies in the United States are conceived through the IVF process.

How does IVF work?
There are several steps through which IVF process works and the timeline follows the following steps:

  1. Stimulation for ovary: You will have to take a special kind of fertility drug for 8 to 14 days near the start of your menstruation cycle. This drug aids in the stimulation of your ovaries for developing multiple mature eggs to fertilise instead of a single one. You may also need to take an artificial hormone-like cetrofelix and leuprolide for keeping your body from releasing eggs very early.
  2. Development of follicle: When you are under all these medications, you will have to visit your doctor’s office often for checking the hormone levels as well as ultrasound measurements for the ovaries.
  3. Getting the trigger shot: Once the follicles are ready, you are likely to receive a trigger shot, which is an injection causing the eggs for maturing fully and becoming capable of being fertilised. Your eggs are ready for being retrieved after about 36 hours of receiving this shot.
  4. Gathering the eggs: At this stage, you are likely to receive an aesthetic or ultrasound probe that is inserted through the vagina for checking the ovaries and identifying the follicles. Normally, about 8 to 15 eggs are retrieved through the insertion of a thin needle.
  5. Fertlisation: This is the most vital step, where an embryologist is going to examine the eggs before they are combined with the sperm and incubated overnight. Fertilisation happens at this particular time, but abnormal eggs are not fertilised.

Then the embryos slowly develop and are planted on the basis of your age and clinical condition. When the treatment is working, an embryo is implanted in the uterine walls and starts developing.
