Hi I can understand your problem 1) avoid activities that make your symptoms worse 2) apply ice packs 3) start physiotherapy treatment as electrotherapy will reduce pain inflammation 4) exercise and mannual therapy will help in painfree movement. I have a backpain for the past 2-3 years and its kind of stiff and now I also have a pain in my neck if I bend it for sometime. Moreover there seems to be a tingling sensation in my hands if I fold them. And for the back pain it stays for almost 24 hours and I cannot lay on my back for a long time.

It seems you are likely to be suffering from spondylosis of the spine. See a good orthopedic surgeon. After a couple of tests, he should be able to prescribe treatment.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem.

1.. Go for fasting once a week. You can go for absolute fasting or rely on a liquid diet to digest ama (toxin). Fasting should be followed by hot fomentation or by taking a bath with lukewarm water or steam bath. 2.. After fasting and fomentation, mix powdered long pepper, black pepper and dried ginger in equal quantities and take 1 teaspoon of this powdered mix with lukewarm water twice a day. This will help you restore your digestive fire. 3.. Take one tablespoon of castor oil before going to bed, once or twice a week. It helps in cleansing ama (toxin) build up and balancing vata. 4.. Mix equal quantities of powdered fenugreek seeds, turmeric and ginger powder. Take one teaspoon daily in the morning and evening. 5.. For dry fomentation of the affected joints, take a cloth and fold it into four, fill it with hot and sand make a potli (bag) out of it. Use this bundle for the fomentation of different joints. This is very helpful in reducing pain and swelling. 6. Do exercise and yoga daily...u have to decrease 4-5 kg weight.

Hello. I'm Trimaya & from past few weeks I'm experiencing an unusual feeling in my right knee. When I sit & stand, a crack type sound comes. I don't feel pain while walking. I can run too. But sometimes sitting in car in a stable position for an hour my right knee pains a little until I readjust. While doing sit up exercise I feel a little pain in knee & that crack type sound comes every time I stand. Please share what exactly is the problem and give some advices! Thanks.

The knee is a complex joint with a number of forces acting on it. With the details that you have already given with the question,its is quite likely that you are suffering from the patellofemoral syndrome. This happens due to reduced tone and power of the quadriceps mechanism of muscle. Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Hello, 1.You can take Tablet Paracetamol 500 mg one tablet stat after food 2.You Can do Hot fomentation twice a day for 3 days I am giving to some common reasons for LEG PAIN 1. generalized weakness 2. Anaemia 3. physical exertion and any Trauma 4. lack of protein in Diet 5. any infection present on leg or foot 6. muscle weakness 7 abrupt start/ stop of physical exercise 8. Vit D and Calcium Deficiency Kindly consult physician for further management

Dear lybrate-user, changing posture is bit difficult but if you want you can change. If you back is giving pain while standing or walking. Try it to bend little forward, do some back strengthening excercises like lying flat on floor lifting legs straight up and again down, folding legs towards and lift your head until shoulder. Try this if facing difficulty can consult me again.

Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana -- lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.
