What diet should be taken during abdominal tuberculosis? Also what precautions should be taken?

Fellowship InThoracic Surgery Onco surgery, DNB (General Surgery), MBBS
General Surgeon, Delhi
Dear lybrate-user, though there is no specific diet prescribed for abdominal tuberculosis, but if the patient had features of obstruction, fibres should be avoided. Due to the nature of disease good nutritious food with high calorie and protein content should be given. This leads to better recovery and weight gain. Regards pramoj jindal.

I have asthma from age 3. How can I reduce it by any exercise or going gym or any other healthy tips? Soonest reply wil b more helpful.

DNB(Respiratory Diseases), MBBS
Pulmonologist, Jabalpur
Exercise is good for a healthy living, but specifically to reduce or improve asthma as such may not be possible by it, rather in few case exercise can increase the symptoms of asthma (exercise induce asthma). So the best way is to take your medications and plan your exercise schedule as per your health condition.

Having a pain or heavyness in your chest can be scary. It does not always mean that you are having a heart attack. There can be many other causes, including Other heart problems, such as angina Panic attacks Digestive problems, such as heartburn or esophagus disorders Sore muscles Lung diseases, such as pneumonia, pleurisy, or pulmonary embolism Costochondritis - an inflammation of joints in your chest Some of these problems can be serious. Get immediate medical care if you have chest pain that does not go away, crushing pain or pressure in the chest, or chest pain along with nausea, sweating, dizziness or shortness of breath. Treatment depends on the cause of the pain. To rule out cardiac issues. Get a ECG and 2D echocardiography done asap. If they are normal then get a TMT and PFT done This will point out the reason for your problems.

Hi, I have tonsillitis problems and yellow stones since 5 years I'm underweight too please help.
If you are getting repeated throat infections particularly the tonsils than you need to get rid of them surgically, there is no harm in it, if you get 7-8 infections in ayear of moderate degree than surgery is the only option.

Panic Attack Not a Heart Attack!

A panic attack is a sudden surge of overwhelming anxiety and fear. Your heart pounds and you can’t breathe. You may even feel like you’re dying or going crazy. Left untreated, panic attacks can lead to panic disorder and other problems. They may even cause you to withdraw from normal activities. But panic attacks can be cured and the sooner you seek help, the better. With treatment, you can reduce or eliminate the symptoms of panic and regain control of your life.

Signs and symptoms of a panic attack-

Panic attacks often strike when you’re away from home, but they can happen anywhere and at any time. You may have one while you’re in a store shopping, walking down the street, driving in your car, or sitting on the couch at home.

The signs and symptoms of a panic attack develop abruptly and usually reach their peak within 10 minutes. Most panic attacks end within 20 to 30 minutes, and they rarely last more than an hour.

A full-blown panic attack includes a combination of the following signs and symptoms:

 Shortness of breath or hyperventilation

 Heart palpitations or racing heart

 Chest pain or discomfort

 Trembling or shaking

 Choking feeling

Feeling unreal or detached from your surroundings

 Sweating

 Nausea or upset stomach

 Feeling dizzy, light-headed, or faint

 Numbness or tingling sensations

 Hot or cold flashes

Fear of dying, losing control, or going crazy

Thank you!
