Dear , anger and aggression are emotions. Anger comes when you become irritated. Irritation happens when you don't like something, or when something is repeated. As anger is an emotion, it should be vent out. You should be able to throw anger out instead of controlling it. But more perfect will be, know the frustrating situations and stop being emotional. If practiced properly, you will not get irritated at those circumstances at all. Those techniques are much easier to understand.

In your Grandfather's condition, Donamem is a good medicine. And continue it as advised by your doctor. Keeping in mind his age, get a detailed medical check up from time to time to rule out other illnesses that come up with age. Also maintain a healthy lifestyle for him with regular physical activity & a balanced diet. And above all most important maintain a healthy positive environment around him with care & support of near ones.

Masters in Speech Pathology and Audiology

First of all you have to help your self. Get busy, do activities which keep you happy and confident. Contact a speech therapist. Just tell everyone around not to pinpoint or discuss your speech problem.

My sis has betrayed by her fiancee. Since she has become emotionally imbalance. She can not control her emotions and becuse of this her professional & personal life is affecting a lot. What to do? hum sab ne use samjhane ka try kiya but still she is depressed & keep crying.

You must take her to a counselor immediately. She has to talk about her feelings and have a plan of action to become fully functional and responsible. She is probably sad and angry, but if she does not deal with them soon, she can become quite dysfunctional. If she is not listening to anyone, then she has to be taken to a professional and s/he will help her. Make her follow a tight routine every day. It must include exercise, sleep, and a proper diet. She must go to work regularly and do a lot of interesting things daily.

I am age 26 working in Private bank as officer height 175 cm and weight 115 kg has habit of masturbation for 16 years...
Your masturbation ahs nothing to do with weight gain or diabetes. The headache you have is probably because of guilt around the masturbation, and for 14 years is stretching it too long. You should have reached out a lot earlier and been free from so much of torture from the guilt. Masturbation is not really bad; it is the addiction to it that is bad. Not even the number of years is a problem but the frequency and compulsiveness to do it is to be considered for its ill-effects. At your age, you may feel it difficult and it can become addictive if you have alone time, if you obsess about it, and if you are not into relationships. The problem with addiction to this is that you may go on to prefer masturbation to heterosexual contact, even when you are married. That obviously would be an insult to your wife and will lead to a lot of conflict. Heterosexual contact is very wholesome and the physiology is made exactly for penile and vaginal contact. You will instead enjoy a poor replica of this and not know or care for the difference. The second thing that can happen with addiction is that it will become compulsive and will have no boundaries or limits, since it can be done all by yourself, whenever, wherever, and however too. The big problem a lot of children get into is the guilt around this. A useful way to discharge the energy is to get into contact games, or exercises, or even hobbies to channelize it. Also, you should not spend too much time alone, and you need to keep your mind occupied with other interesting things and a lot of socializing. Even if you are not interested in marriage, for whatever reasons, it will help you to get into a friendship with a girl and enjoy the relationship where there will be a lot of excitement when you fall in love. Right now your physiological apparatus is primed and ready for sexual stimulation. But because of your age and even otherwise it is important to develop good control and not feed into your impulses. Keeping yourself occupied and living a healthy social life are the keys to manage your sexual drives.

Dear Rajender, Most of the allopathy doctors know interaction with other allopathic medicines. They know very few interaction with herbs. So far i have not come across any study with the herb garcinia cambodia. You can ask the doctor who prescribed the herb, she/he might have some knowledge. But, there are good treatment available in allopathy itself to reduce weight. 1. Shift her to weight neutral medicines. 2. Life style modification with dietician. 3. Metformin or Topiramate. Please discuss with AIIMS doctors for these treatments.

Today, I feel alone and depressed. I loved someone and Now she does not want stay with me because of her family and society. I told her a lot of time that I am alone please come back. But She did not. I am feeling suicidal. I have no one , excepting my family .

BHMS, DEMS
Homeopath, Pune
Suicide is not good option. If she don't want to stay with you then ask her first the real reason. And don't force her. Don't feel upset and depressed. If she really loves you she will come back for you. And if not god gives you best girl who really loves you. So don't be upset. Live happily. Take care.

My son is 11 years old he has no interest in studies in sixth std. He even can't read write in Hindi English. His IQ is 100 to 110 as told by a psychologist please tell me what should I do?

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
His IQ is normal or average and he needs only motivation and help to study. If he feels excessive sleep or tiredness/ head spinning or vertigo like feeling you have to make sure you have no anaemia or hypothyroidism by doing a blood CBC & TSH and inform me directly 10 Study Tips to Improve Your Learning Study Tip 1: Underlining Underlining is one of the simplest and best known study tips. It’s easy to highlight the most significant parts of what you’re reading. One key sentence per paragraph and a few important phrases here and there. You can only retain a certain amount so it’s best to retain the most important information. Study Tip 2: Make your own note and taking notes is one of the most widespread study skills out there. Essentially the aim of note-taking is to summarise lectures or articles in your own words so you can easily remember the ideas. Study Tip 3: Mind mapping A good Mind map can save you many hours of study and further consolidate your knowledge for your exams. Mind Maps are an extremely versatile tools. They can be used for brainstorming, outlining essays or study topics and for general exam preparation, ExamTime offers the ability to create Mind Maps quickly and easily which makes them the ideal tool when it comes to exams. Study Tip 4: Flash cards:- Using these are a particularly effective method of learning when trying to assimilate different facts, dates, formulas or vocabulary. Subjects such as History, Physics, Maths, Chemistry, Geography or any language are made much easier if you incorporate Flashcards in to your study. Study Tip 5: Case Studies Sometimes it can be difficult to grasp the implications of some theories. This is where studying case studies can be a big help. Case studies can help you visualise a theory and place it in a more familiar and realistic context. This is especially useful in business or law subjects. Study Tip 6: Quizzes are an excellent way to review study notes in the weeks and days before an exam. Quizzes can show where your strengths and weaknesses are, so it allows you to focus your efforts more precisely. Moreover, if you share your Study Quiz with your classmates and test each other as much as possible you can discover even more details and areas you may have overlooked. So before any exam, make sure you create and share a bunch of different Quizzes with your Friends. Study Tip 7: Brainstorming This is another study technique that is ideal for studying with friends and/or classmates. Brainstorming is a great way to expand every possible idea out of any topic. Just get a bunch of friends together and shoot the breeze, there are no wrong answers when brainstorming – just talk and capture the ideas, you can review afterward. Study Tip 8: Mnemonic Rules Mnemonics are especially useful when memorising lists and sets. Mnemonics rules basically work by associating certain concepts with other concepts that are more familiar to us. There are many different ways to make mnemonics and these can be individual to the person. Study Tip 9: ORGANISE your study One of the most effective study skills is also one of the most often overlooked; this is organising your study. Creating a TIME TABLE gives you goals and a time in which to achieve them. Having a study timetable as you study is greatly motivational Study Tip 10: Drawing Many people find it easier to recall images rather than text that is why they are better able to memorise concepts if they associate them with pictures or drawings. Sir I have been taking for treatment of ocd since last three years but only partial relief. What should do. Medicine are xet cr25 and prodep 20 mg .

MBBS, MD (AIIMS, Gold Medalist), Diploma in CBT (Glasgow)
Psychiatrist, Delhi
Xet cr 25 as well as prodep 20 are clearly doses at which a lot of people with OCD are unlikely to respond. If this is the maximal dose that you have been tried on, the answer to your question is simple. Just increasing the dose under supervision can do the trick. Also, if you are taking both these medicines together, that is not correct - it is likely to be associated with more side effects and less benefit. I am not sure why there has been a delay of three years in your treatment when it appears quite straightforward. Take care!

Hello, myself junad here, I will smoke 10 cigrets daily but ny family doesn't no about this. I am facing max coughing in aproxx 4 weeks in every month. Wht should I do.

BHMS
Homeopath,
Dear lybrate user, it will be much better if you can quit smoking. You may need a bit of willpower to stop smoking permanently. You could easily abstain yourself from smoking during the initial 2-3 days. But after few days of abstaining from smoking you will feel a strong craving to smoke a cigarette whenever you face any tense situation. Here lies your real test. You will need a lot of willpower to resist that craving & face any tense situation without the help of nicotine. However, you can take homoeopathic mother tincture daphne indica q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water. This medicine will help to reduce your craving for nicotine. To minimise the bad-effects of smoking take one single bulb garlic everyday at morning before brushing your teeth.

Dear lybrate-user. Welcome to lybrate. You failed in an exam and you are disappointed. You should be able to distinguish between disappointment and depression. Disappointment also brings on symptoms identical to depression but they are short lived. Still I suggest for a psychological counseling.

I started smoking in 2010 & i smoke quite a bit much than normal ( means avg. 10 cigarette per day ) so i just want to ask how many months or years it will take to come back to normal life / healthy life as i never smoked if i quit today. Also is there any medication available to quit ? please reply me

Yes. If u stop cigaratte u will be like before only in few weeks. For that u need to set a quit date. Dont be too much enthusiastic and keep the quit date as per ur convenience. It is not necessary that the quit date should be very close to the day u decide to quit smoking. Lower down ur cigaratte slowly, initially lower down the number per day than when it comes to 2-3 cigarates per day, u can increase the interval period between two cigarattes. Finally u will be able to quit. For craving u need to be highly motivated and still if u feel for cigaratte go for nicotene gums which is awailable in market. Take care
