Check for bottom of your foot wear for more tear at a specific aspect of your footwear. If there is no such tear then check your knees position in mirror it should be neutral; the knee should not bend back when you look from side. If it is you need to correct your knee posture. All the best!

Common Causes of Low Back Pain

Common Causes of Low Back Pain

POSTURAL CAUSES

The most common cause of low back pain is postural stress

  • Thus low back pain is frequently brought on by sitting for a long time in a poor position or prolonged bending in bad working positions heavy lifting and standing and lying for a long time in a poor position.  The low back is rounded and the lordosis has disappeared.
  • Unfortunately many people lose the lordosis much of the time and seldom or never increase it to its very maximum. If you reduce the lordosis for long periods at a time, year in, year out, and never properly restore it, you will eventually lose the ability to form the hollow.
  • It is known that a flattened low back is frequently associated with chronic low back problems. Most people naturally have a lordosis in the low back when they walk or run, and these activities often help to relieve low back pain.
  • When we are standing the lordosis is naturally present but in some individuals, when the standing posture is maintained for a long time, the lordosis can become excessive and pain will be produced of a different nature than that occurring during prolonged bending.
  • Of all these postural stresses the poor sitting posture is by far the one most commonly at fault. A poor sitting posture in itself may produce low back pain.
  •  Once low back problems have developed, a poor sitting posture will perpetuate or worsen those problems.Poor standing postures and poor lying postures are also frequent causes of back pain.
  • You may have already found that your back pain appears only if you stand for long periods or only after you get into bed. Pain that behaves in this way is frequently caused by poor posture alone. If this is the case, it is easily rectified.
  • Pain of postural origin will not occur if you avoid prolonged overstretching. Should pain develop, it is an almost certain indication that you have fallen into a poor position and immediate steps must be taken to correct your posture.
  • Once the nature of your postural problem has been identified and you become aware of the steps you must take to correct it, you should not have to seek assistance whenever postural pain arises.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. It is definitely not related to your bone density, but may be related to your lifestyle, your work and maybe lack of some vitamins. My advise will be to initiate a conservative management approach initially in which you start with intensive physical therapy, adequate calcium and vitamin d supplementation, short course of anti inflammatory medication, local ice and hot packs and see how you are doing in next 10-14 days, and if you are not improving, then we will get some investigations done for you. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

My left hand both bone broken below elbow. Both side plate fitted in 2000. Is it necessary to remove plate. Any side effect or problem in future.

DNB (Orthopedics), MS - Orthopaedics
Orthopedist, Visakhapatnam
Not absolutely necessary to remove plates, but it recommended to remove once proper bony union occurs .bcz of plate/ nail doesn't serve any function. Ideally implan removal between 3 to 18 months after bony union depends on bone, age and implant used, if there any clinical indications implants must be removed. Tq.

Hi. Cervical spondylosis is also called cervical osteoarthritis. It is a condition involving changes to the bones, discs, and joints of the neck. These changes are caused by the normal wear-and-tear of aging. With age, the discs of the cervical spine gradually break down, lose fluid, and become stiffer. Cervical spondylosis usually occurs in middle-aged and elderly people. Sleeping on your back without a pillow to encourage the natural curves along the spine to align properly. Also sleeping on your side with a pillow that is the size of the gap between your shoulder and head to release the strain on the neck. Using too many pillows is not recommended. Regular exercise lubricates the disks of the spine and helps to combat degeneration of the disks. Exercise can help keep your body strong and supple as you age. High-impact exercises such as running should be avoided if you are experiencing any neck pain because the shock of impact can worsen your condition. Light, low-impact exercises such as walking, swimming or aqua aerobics help to support the body. Using a routine of neck stretches and yoga exercises will maintain flexibility and range of motion in the neck and cervical spine. Sit up tall with good posture. Roll the shoulders up and back. Inhale and lift the head up toward the sky. Exhale and drop the head toward the chest. Repeat this movement with your breath 10 to 15 times. Bring the head back to center and drop the right ear toward the right shoulder. Repeat on the left side and continue for 10 to 15 repetitions. Roll the head in circles to the right and then to the left. Drop the right ear toward the right shoulder and press the right hand gently into the left side of the forehead to increase the stretch. Repeat on the other side. Yoga (better do it under supervision and guidance by a qualified yoga-instructor first and do it alone later): certain yoga postures such as cobra and bridge pose help to strengthen and stretch the muscles of the neck. Perform bridge pose lying on your back with the knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Press the feet into the floor and lift the hips up toward the sky. Clasp the hands underneath the body and straighten the arms. For cobra pose, start on your stomach. Bring your hands to either side of your chest. Press the hands into the floor and roll the shoulders back. Lift the upper body off of the floor and press the tops of the feet into the floor. Elongate the neck and move the tips of the ears back toward the shoulders.
