While breastfeeding, ovulation does not occur thats why no menses, but that is not the rule. Even without menstruation, ovulation can occur. Best contraceptive for the breast-feeding women is copper-t. While choosing a method of contraception, it is important that it not interfere with lactation or have negative effects on the infant. Iucd or copper t is more effective than condoms and progesterone only pills. Oc pills like novelon suppresses milk production. Progestin-only contraceptives or minipill like cerazette for 28 days are safe for use by breast-feeding mothers if copper t is not acceptable.

Hello, a pregnant woman should take utmost caution of what she eats. A nutritious diet rich in proteins, iron, calcium and omega 3 fatty acids is recommended. Overall besides normal food make sure she takes a big glass of milk daily, 2-3 eggs in a week, chicken/ fish twice a week, take 2 helping of fruits and salads daily. Taking 5-6 almonds alone a piece or two of walnuts daily should overall take care of your nutritional requirements. Hope this helps you.

The Myth and Truth About the Female Orgasm

For most of us it is important that we can give our female partners that much needed release, but it is not always the case that they attain it. An orgasm is a sexual release that is highly intense in nature and something a person reaches as a normal culmination of the act of having sexual intercourse. Yet, there are many conditions where women do not orgasm. This may be due to a condition known as orgasmic dysfunction or anorgasmia, or even due to stress and anxiety or other chronic health issues. Whatever the reason may be not being able to reach an orgasm after attaining the peak of your excitement and ample stimulation can be quite a dampener. So, here are the myths and truths about female orgasms.

No orgasm is not abnormal: There is nothing wrong with a woman who cannot reach an orgasm merely through intercourse. This is a major myth that medical science seeks to debunk. To begin with, there are only about a third of women who can reach an orgasm with the help of intercourse. A third can reach orgasm during intercourse, but they do need extra stimulation. A third can reach an orgasm only with the help of manual or oral stimulation.
It's all in the mind: Anyone who thinks that not being able to have an orgasm is a matter of being in a psychological space where it does not happen, could be mistaken. While stress could result in a few episodes where the female cannot achieve an orgasm, there is an actual condition that encompasses the problem of not being able to orgasm. This is called anorgasmia which could be global (never had an orgasm), or situational (cannot achieve orgasms in certain situations). This condition is tied to the mental and physical condition of the female in question.
Frigid or suffering from relationship problems: This is yet another myth that many people harbour. A female may be perfectly normal and happy in her relationship. There may be many other causes for not being able to achieve an orgasm including side effects of certain types of medication, or due to the presence of other chronic ailments.
Nothing one can do about It: Well, this one is a major myth. If the female is not being able to orgasm, then there is plenty that one can do about it. To begin with, the woman can try relaxation techniques. Also, her partner can encourage her to try other means of stimulation like manual stimulation, or oral stimulation.

It is important to address issues like intimacy and not being able to orgasm with your doctor and your partner with the help of counselling.

The food safety standards authority of india (fssai) has confirmed that 70 per cent of the milk available in the country is adulterated with detergent, glucose and skim milk powder. Hence, though we consume milk for its protein and calcium which may be retained post boiling too, tetra pack is an ideal option for packaged milk as it eliminates the chances of adulteration due to its absolutely hygienic processing and packaging methods. Heating on a high temperature for a very short time prevents the loss of most nutrients - something that occurs in the conventional method of boiling. Many homemakers repeatedly boil milk for long duration's to ensure that all microbes are destroyed but in doing so, there is in turn a loss of all water-soluble vitamins. This is the reason why aseptically packaged milk and milk products have better nutritive value than other forms of bottled milk. With hygienic packaging of unparalleled quality, tetra pack milk is extremely safe for a child's growth and development. Easy usability, convenient portability, and better nutrient strength - all these factors make it a preferred choice for kids.

How many days we can still wait for labour pains after the expected date of delivery? Please advice.

How many days we can still wait for labour pains after the expected date of delivery? Please advice.
Hi . We can wait upto 1 week after the expected delivery date for labour pains to start on their own but that has some risks involved. Waiting after the dates can result in decreased liquor of the baby, causing stress to baby, which in turn will make the baby pass stool in uterus, if the baby inhales the stool then she will having lung infections, will not cry after birth and may need nicu admission. I usually do not wait beyond 2-3 days after crossing the dates for this very reason. I suggest you visit your doctor and get the baby examined by nst (non stress test) and ultrasound to see for liquor. If both are fine you can wait for 2 days. These tests need to be done alternate day after the expected dates to ensure that the baby is doing well inside. Your doctor will advise the best after seeing the reports. Hope this information has helped you. All the best.

You have impaired glucose test. You check your thyroid profile also. Placenta is not too risky as per the report. It is not as easy task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (self-monitoring of blood glucose? smbg). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of fasting sugar (fbs) and 2 hours after food (ppbs) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ insulin will be needed. For sugar control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. For giving you regular follow up you ask me privately with all details like your daily eating pattern and medicines you take. I assure you a proper guidance. If you keep in touchly,
