Dear lybrate user. Upper back pain can be due to myofacial pain or facet joint pain commonly. Try to improve your posture, sit with support, daily thoracic stretching exercises for 30 min to 1 hour after hot fomentation and massage with a short course (1-2 week) of nsaid.

I have always pain in my left arm. So what I will do. It is very critical for me.

Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening. Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Inform after 5 days.

3days ago my mother had a operation of the uterus which is coming Outside someday before. The operation was done by laparoscopy method but the problem is she has a pain on her shoulder and in her neck whenever she sits straight from today morning & when she sleep on the bed there is no pain. Only when she sits there is pain which she can't bear & want to lay on the bed. Sir please give me solution what's the reason for the pain & what should I do to reduce her pain.

Give her Arnica 30 five drops n water thrice a day for two days. Also give her Zoridol MR twice a day. After surgery this us very common due to weakness. She should take rest. Do not give her thick pillow. Give support to her neck

I am 25 year old male and have backache for last 2 month. I have used pain relief ointment cream for couple of days but have not got any relief. What should I do now?

Try few things for your back pain: - Apply Ice and Heat Heating pads and cold packs can comfort tender trunks. Most doctors recommend using ice for the first 48 hours after an injury -- particularly if there is swelling — and then switching to heat. You can use whichever you find comforting as long as your skin is protected. - Limit Bed Rest Studies show that people with short-term low-back pain who rest feel more pain and have a harder time with daily tasks than those who stay active. -Keep Exercising Activity is often the best medicine for back pain. Simple exercises like walking can be very helpful. But remember to move in moderation, Stay away from strenuous activities like gardening and avoid whatever motion caused the pain in the first place. -Maintain Good Posture Most people have poor posture when going about their daily activities, putting unnecessary strain on their backs. -Strengthen Your Core Most people with chronic back pain would benefit from stronger abdominal muscles. If the abdominals are weak, other areas must pick up the slack. When we strengthen the abdominals, it often reduces the strain on the lower back. - Improve Flexibility Too much tension and tightness can cause back pain. By increasing flexibility you need to put an equal load throughout the body from the feet all the way up to the head. -Sleep the Right Way The amount of rest you get is important, and so is the position you get it in. Sleeping in a bad position or on a mattress without support can cause back pain. Back sleepers should put pillows under their knees. Side sleepers should place pillows between their knees to keep their spine in a neutral position. Stomach sleeping causes the neck and head to twist and can put undue stress on the back. -Use Relaxation Techniques Research shows that practices such as meditation, deep breathing and yoga, which help put the mind at rest, can do wonders for the back. -See a Specialist Developing an individualized exercise plan is essential to managing chronic back pain. Some patients need more core strengthening while others benefit mainly from stretching and improving flexibility. Please consult a Orthopedic Physiotherapist for the right exercise plan. Best wishes.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take BioD3 Max 1 tab dailyx10 Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x5days Do back(spine)/shoulder/knee exercises Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take Do not ignore it. Good posture is key for back pain reduction. Avoid long sitting in a posture give rest to your back between work. Use lumber supports in sitting. Adjust height of your chair so you can not lean too much forward full back support required. Some stretching exercises in between work made changes. Back extension exercises morning and evening 10 times.
